Of course they do.  I believe the rule is something like 7 to 1... It takes 7 positive interactions to make up for 1 negative.   Doubling down on the negative might make that situation more of an exponential situation... So, doubling down might require 49 positives.

I‘m talking all athletes across sports. A vast majority are too smart to post dumb stuff that elicit negative consequences.

DJax is in the minority of athletes who significantly impacted his standing with stupid posts.

I think you’re speaking too generally to suggest all athletes should step away from social media.

That’s not even getting into the fact that some of their money is tied to their active presence on social media in terms of marketing and endorsement deals.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Yup sorry man, its a lot to worry about either way. Hopefully things get better before they get worse but im not so sure.

Presnap motion, play action passing... football doesn’t have to be hard.

Reagor is a perfect fit too. Can be used on sweeps, ghost motions, screens, etc. Players like Alshon and JJAW are harder to use with motion.

Josh Jacobs at 9 seems...high.

That's where their agent comes in real handy.   That's what they are paid for.  Put them to work to help you not post stupid stuff.

But, the MLB players did it with their labor beef with the owners.  NFL players are doing it now.   If you are posting on social media, there are two options:  be smart (filter yourself and your message, or have someone you trust help you with that) or post whatever thought comes to mind and face the consequences.

And no, I am not talking too broadly.  You and I both know that young kids (not athletes) are getting themselves in bad situations with employers, future employers, future universities, etc. with their social media presence.  There needs to be more education on the double-edged sword that is social media.  Yes, it can spread a good message quickly.  It can also send a FASTER bad message.  Bad messages generally go viral far faster than good ones.    Ultimately, there needs to be far more thought into what gets posted, and that's a good message for ALL to hear.  But in the midst of this type of climate - pandemic... social/cultural upheaval... there's going to be a lot more emotional stuff than normal times.  Be smart about the message put out and more importantly, how it will be received.

So DeSean liked this post. Whether he read it all or not is another debate, but I think he should just stop with the social media for a bit. This isn't a good look.

Interestingly, our presnap motion (at the snap) went up dramatically last year. One downside to it is quarterbacks don’t get a good look at the set defense. Peyton Manning supposedly hated motion. I have no idea what Wentz thinks of it. Maybe @NoDak Eagle can work that into casual conversation whenever the next family reunion is.

I wear a mask.  We will likely have shields as teachers.   But, we have trouble getting the teens to follow the dress code we have (separate issue)...  there's no way we will be able to get them to wear masks.  That's a decision they need to make, and they need to make it all the time.

I don’t know enough about it, but schools can’t enforce it by sending kids home who refuse to wear a mask during a pandemic?

Again, we’re talking about a specific idiot vs all athletes. Social media isn’t the problem, DJax’s own stupidity is.

6. Eagles (HC Doug Pederson)

4th Down Aggressiveness: 2nd

Pass Rate on Early Downs: 10th

Pass Rate While Trailing: 31st

Play-Action Rate: 7th

Downfield Pass Rate: 23rd

Middle of the Field Pass Rate: 21st

Pre-Snap Motion Percentage: 26th

Outside Run Rate: 3rd

Shotgun Run Rate: 8th

Offensive Pace: 17th

Pederson does a lot of things right. He’s aggressive on fourth downs (2nd), uses play action at a high rate (7th), and lets his running backs find space by rushing to the outside (3rd) and from shotgun (8th). Still, there’s some room for improvement. Of course, the Eagles’ receiver injuries affected this last season, but Philly shouldn’t have been 31st in pass rate while trailing in 2019, nor should they be using pre-snap motion at the 26th-highest rate. With more speed at receiver, Pederson could increase the Eagles’ rankings in both metrics, which would vault them into Tier 1 next offseason.

Sure they can.  Then the issue becomes... when are they allowed back?  It becomes a discipline issue that disrupts the educational process, and really becomes a distraction.

There's a lot of idiots.  And people who don't seem to be idiotic do idiotic things from time to time.    A week ago, I wouldn't have figured Desean to be as idiotic as he's proven himself to be in the last couple days.

And there are a lot more social media savvy people than social media thermonuclear dolts among pro athletes. That’s my entire point.

This part right here is the issue with advanced metrics... they need to be more advanced.   Take into consideration that their top weapons were running backs and not WRs and you can see why they'd likely run the ball a little more than others.  That and the AMOUNT you are trailing and what portion of the game is a huge factor.   The Eagles got into holes early a lot, if I am correctly remembering that, and had to dig out.  You can't give up on the run early, even if trailing.

(I know that wasn't your analysis.)

Sure.  I agree.  I'm not suggesting it as a mandate, but as a precaution.  Who thought Drew Brees would have kicked up a firestorm?  He seems pretty media savvy too.
Social media in times like this is a massive mine field, and while there's more safe areas than mines... some are going to step on the mines.  But, if you just steer clear of the mine field entirely, or post nothing but cute puppy gifs... you'll fare much better.  I am not even suggesting they steer clear of social media forever... just until the climate changes back to more 'normal'.  Just some free advice.   They can take or leave it.

Who is more aggressive on 4th?

I have no issue with any particular player in the top 10, but Boobie will open more eyes this season (if there is one).  He'll prove himself to be on that list by the end.
