Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

The owners, obviously, are the billionaires.  Say what you want about the owners (greedy, manipulative, etc), but they are not crybabies.  That’s because they are intelligent and know not to complain.

The millionaires, the players, are not.  97% of them will not be millionaires within 10 years of retirement and will be left with no skill to earn money.  That’s on them for spending their millions on frivolous depreciable assets right now.  Their tone deaf cries about money now are sad precursors to real problems in the future.

Echoes of Patrick Ewing during NBA lockout

I'm still hoping Giants don't get the QB thing right and waste years of Barkley because that'll be a problem if they figure it out

Or maybe we'll get lucky and they trade him out of the division

They are going to have to cancel vanilla and chocolate flavors. Too divisive

My daughter plays soccer for a smaller D1 school and league in the South. She has been notified by her AD to expect to start a week earlier and there will be a modified schedule. All league games are on but any games requiring overnight travel (airplane) have been cancelled. So there is some hope out there

Is it now? A few pages away from having to change the Redskins name?

I've heard cries from owners.

I think the good news for you is the state has already funded schools as if they are going to be in session.  I also thing some of the meal funding comes from Federal grant money.  So the school districts should have the money to spend regardless of whether kids are attending classes.

Head Start, started by a former teacher then Congressman for my district, Republican, conservative, fiscally responsible but his thoughts and heart were in the right place. How I dream of a return to the days of statesmen.

I know growing up when I learned about it we were told by rabbis we don’t believe in hell. But as i got older and studied. They do but it’s not the hell thats typically portrayed.

pretty good answer from a rabbi.

I also understood that Sheol was another name from the O.T. for hell as well.

You should be condemned to hell for that

So Jewish hell is like purgatory.

I guess, but I'm not sure what that has to do with him being Jewish. I mean I can annoy all races and religions with my p.o.v. equally. I've even annoyed some people that believe basically what I do.

That's right! Thanks, that actually clears it up for me.

They cry about needing new publicly financed stadiums. That’s putting it nicely. Another way to put it is extortion.

The assumption with sports leagues and teams among players, owners, and anyone affiliated is that it's a continuously appreciating asset. Which in normal times, it is. Problem is we're not in normal times and now leagues are losing money just like any other business in any other industry. I don't know the intricacies with the labor negotiations/agreements, but I find it laughable that a player is complaining about losing some of his salary this year given the state of the world. It's like they've been brought down to a human level with the rest of the population that has suffered financially from this. It's not like the owners aren't suffering losses either. It may not be as much as the players, but that's how the hierarchy works when you own a company/team compared to if you're an employee of a company/team. It may not sound fair, but that's the reality.

Yeah basically.

Somebody said it earlier, but it might not be the worst thing for owners and players alike to go through a non season. Possibly they both may take a stronger view of the fans and start to worry about what we like and want to see.

I wish i could answer more but my depth on that topic probably ends with that. I was actually thinking about going and talking to a local rabbi at my synagogue about the Hebrew Israelites and their claims but when i go I’ll be sure to ask more in-depth questions about belief in hell and I’ll specifically ask about sheol.

here’s another think that Black Hebrew Israelites believe i remembered this so i was able to find it
