Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

The Eagles really botched the DJax situation bad. Not the first time we’ve said that...

They already set the precedent with Cooper so they couldn't have cut him without facing severe backlash because of the double standard and the optics would have been horrible. If they had cut Cooper back then, I think they would have cut DeSean here.

From a pure football standpoint, I want DeSean on the field and as many weapons for Wentz as possible.

As an aside, while I don’t have a "second” team as an adult, I do find teams that I enjoy watching and hope to see win once the Eagles are out. I was happy as hell for Andy Reid to finally get one. I wouldn’t have felt the same way if we hadn’t won LII.

I've never understood the mentality of having a "second team."  True fans wouldn't dream of it.

Living in Charlotte, I have already seen the fans shifting towards rooting for New England because they think Cam walks on water (my in-laws included).

Off topic, has anyone been reading about the Wayfair child trafficking conspiracy?  I don't believe it but some really shady things with cabinets they are selling for $10-$15k and all of them have female names that match missing children.  Unique names, not Jill and Betty.

Working in hospitality, I can tell you that we are surrounded by child trafficking, it's really scary.  A lot of your local value hotels are where these things go down.

Do Panthers fans really count though?  They've only had a team since what? 1995.  They had to cheer for someone before the team came about.

If these were bigger names this story almost coulda been the football related distraction we need in this thread.

Pretty interesting nonetheless.

I was listening to Kist and Solak and Kist said that precedent set 8 years ago shouldn’t matter, although he didn’t think DJax should be cut for his post.

I think that’s being incredibly naive. In a league that is predominantly black, it would have been foolish to cut him after keeping Cooper, whose incident appeared to be pure hatred and rage rather than ignorance.

Haven't heard of this.  Crazy if true.  A company like wayfair so out in the open?

Scrolling through the thread is wild.  These internet detectives come up with some crazy ideas.  This one however...the names especially make it somewhat believable.  There are pillows for sale with female names as well for over $10k...all those names matching missing girls.

Eight years ago isn't that long ago, so I disagree with him there. Cooper should have been cut, but Vick really saved him and rallied around him to get him forgiveness with the locker room. I still think this DeSean deal came out of pure ignorance and stupidity rather than hatred. I'm Jewish and this whole thing bothers me, but I can forgive DeSean for ignorance and hope that he learns from it. Malik on the other hand pisses me off more. He doubled down and warrants being off the team probably more so than DeSean. I have no interest or care for that dude as a player or human-being.

When I was younger I decided the Oilers were my "AFC team.” I loved Warren Moon and their jerseys. I was devastated that they constantly choked in the playoffs.

I liked Moon as well.  Used them in Tecmo Bowl sometimes.  They had a nice group of WRs.  Haywood Jeffries, Drew Hill, Curtis Duncan and Ernest Givens.  Also liked Dan Marino and Deion when he was in Atlanta.

Not for the NFL but college I follow 2 teams, 1 west and 1 east.  Penn St and Oregon.  Besides, college there are a million teams anyway.

Never understood why they kept Cooper.  The dude sucked anyways.  Only thing I remember about him is his 1 big game vs Oakland where Foles had 7 TDs and when he laid down in the endzone on a kickoff trying to hide or something.

I loved drawing the helmets and also collecting the gumball helmets.

As a kid I hate to admit, the Steelers were my "AFC" team to cheer for.  I know it's frowned upon by many on the boards to cheer for anyone but the Eagles.  I loved Barry Foster, Rod Woodson, Greg Lloyd and Kevin Greene.  Hate Larry Brown to this day.

The Tom Hanks part that comes up in the comments is interesting. My friend's dad was at a bar in Chicago a few years ago and struck up a conversation with a minor actor who has done some TV stuff. According to him, for whatever it's worth, the rumor around the inner circles within that community is that Hanks among others is connected to some shady stuff having to do with underage sex rings, etc. I don't know how valid that rumor is, but it was weird to see that one tweet with the photo he posted several years ago.

Ernest Givens. That was a fun offense to watch.

Tecmo Super Bowl is my all-time favorite video game as people could probably surmise from my avatar. My crowning achievement as a young gamer was beating my friends with Steve Grogan and the Patriots to win the Super Bowl.

I've heard the same about Tom Hanks for quite some time now and if true is so sad because he is such a great actor.

I couldn’t bring myself to get jackets or hats for teams I didn’t root for. NBA jerseys were different. It was a big deal at my high school to have a jersey of a player no one else did. I got a lot of props for my Kevin Garnett blue and green Timberwolves jersey during his rookie year.

Haywood Jeffries too.

Why the Houston Texans didn't utilize the Oilers color scheme is beyond me.  This would look so great IMO.

I was never saying to cut him. But to say he was punished without saying what the punishment is is just pointless

Good point.  😂  The answer is nope!

They should have went with the Oilers. That color scheme looks better, but it makes sense to go with the colors of the state flag since they’re the Texans.
