Rosie even discussed how the AJ trade had to be kept under wraps. But Hurts was one guy very in the know. He was recruiting AJ.

We wanted to pay Honey Badger. Did he come here? On and on the list goes. Hurts got AJ here. Think it makes us a better team. Just another benefit of having the young QB.

Nice to know on the leaked Jerry Jones Big Board he had Davis at 11

Cine at 13 is pretty surprising. They don’t value S at all.

Took his 16th guy over his 13th guy

"I think this is an exciting time to be an Eagle. I think coming off of the things we were able to accomplish and overcome last year, I think there’s a lot to look forward to. Just knowing that, for me, one thing I’ve been telling the guys is that the foundation has been set, the standard has been set, and the only direction is to climb. And the only way we can do that is doing it together.”

He talked a bit about the training he’s done the past few months, calling it a wholistic approach to being a quarterback — everything from taking command and leading an offense to his diet and schedule.

Really appreciate our leadership on this team. Hurts, Kelce, Smith, Slay and Brandon Graham. These guys have the right mentality. Do whatever is needed.

Reading through their quotes on Bleeding Green.com

I think Graham is going to be a real factor this year. He was missed last year for sure.

He’s 34 but hasn’t been overused throughout his career. We’ll see how he pops back from last year’s injury. Think the guy still has some juice. No doubt in my mind he’s worked his butt off to get back.

Jets took Herbig we signed Davis, Johnson and Calcaterra

That’s the earliest you can work on signing anybody.

Right, and that's when it's best to do it.  Your players can get paid well..  in a way that doesn't use that against the cap.

Only the Eagles had a first and third and need for a Pro Bowl WR? Yes, he wanted to get paid. I’m sure plenty of teams would have been very happy to do so. Zona just brought in Hollywood Brown. I’m sure they’d loved AJ. Seems to me half the league would want AJ. So I just don’t believe we were the only ones that would pay him. The pay actually looks fairly mild from what I’m seeing…at that. Of coarse fans just see 100 million and divide to see twenty five mil a season. Think you know much better.

Ham, read what happened... there were a few versions.   Education is a wonderful thing.

The reason he came here is we were willing to make the trade and pay the price and hewanted to play with Hurts

Yes to the first part...but the main reason he came here was Tennessee not being able to pay him.  A couple very good articles on the whole scenario.   Refreshing to see good journalism in today's world.

Right but not without a deal in place. That's where the read up of what led to the trade was a good read.   Tenn needed to have a team in place quickly that was ready to deal with Brown's agent and have the assets, and willing to give them up.    The big thing was Tennessee thought they were going to resign Brown up until the last day.

What did they overcome last year?   They were healthy and beat bad teams that were crushed with key injuries?  I'm scared to think he doesn't realize how poor of a passer he is and how crucial this season is for him?

He costs 5.6 this year. 8.5 next year. Then we can opt out after the next year. You can’t just throw around the BS numbers.

Those numbers you posted above are BS. You neglect to include the Signing Bonus of 23+ Mil. Yes as far as the Cap goes, his pay is like 10 mil this year and 13 mil next. 25 Mil in 2024.  However, If they decide to void the deal after 3 years, it will cost them over 15 mil Dead cap space....

Not football related but we've had so much rain here i've been flooded into my house for 2 days now.

House is on a hill so no worries but i'm getting low on beer

Ham,  Please stop with the Leadership crap. Hurts stunk up the joint as a Passer last year. That does not mean we all want him to fail this season. Heck, I hope all the work he put in has elevated his game to the point the Eagles feel he can be the guy moving forward. I would love to see 60% completions, 20 Tds with less than 8 INTs, 3500 or more yards in the air. Hitting 2nd or 3rd reads in stride. I would be the 1st one cheering him on! That would mean we would save on draft capital next year and move our rebuilding process up!

Do I honestly think it will happen? No, but I am hoping it does. Hurts has a long way to go despite what you may think. Leadership is great. Tebow was a great leader, much better than Hurts was, but he could not throw the ball and was cut because of it. Same exact situation here with Hurts. Only difference was Tebow could read defenses.....

I know  say stats don't tell the whole story.... but for 17 games in today's NFL....those are pretty bad numbers considering the OL and the weapons.    206 yards passing per game...with basically 1 TD pass.   It's not like it's Fulgham, Ward, JJAW, ... these WRs most people would say are better than a Maclin/ Jackson combo.  Plus Goedert and the former #2 for the Colts last year, and an ascending Watkins.

Should be interesting to see if we are planning some type of Hybrid defense and how they use the players they drafted and if Nakobe Dean(in a year or so) ends up being the beast we think he is. I would love to see Dak on his back on a LB blitz. Speaking of which,I hope we blitz more than last year(why I was hoping for a KA safety on the draft LOL)

That's how they make Icehouse 🤣

I'm looking at/for 5100 yards and 34 TD's over a 17 game season. With the effort we put in to give him tools, anything less is a fail. That equates to 300 PASSING yards a game and 2 PASSING TD's. Totally doable, and he has NO reason to fail. If you don't have the same expectations, your bar is set TOO LOW
