https://www.profootballnetwork.com/carson-strong-injury-update-nevada-quarterback-adamant-that-his-knee-isnt-a-concern/    Did pretty damn good last year for not being 100% . Given the players we have surrounded our QB with, this kid has tons of potential to be our #1. We could be in a position next year to trade Hurts and Shew for even more picks

Assuming we keep Minshew as the backup. If Hurts misses some games this season have to wonder if the Eagles would turn to Strong over Minshew. Just for the simple reason that Minshew won’t be back next year.

Guess lot could come down to how the season is going if we need a win think they go Minshew if the season is lost Strong would make more sense.

Love those QB types. They are on the field and(hopefully) can spot weaknesses. Yeah you get camera shots every play, but the QB can look at a guys eyes and think"We're wearing this DT guy out and I'm going after him" and calls a gap running play right at him. Overheads are great, but the QB can read people much better on the field(Peyton Manning/Bret Favre/Drew Brees has this talent). Our O line is good,so hopefully once healed that knee won't be an issue. Like this kid alot

That's the thing... he played last year,  which should be as bad as it gets for the knee.   Having this year off and being at a pro facility ...should be great for helping the knee heal.  Basically sounds like a big issue was this kid never had a chance to rest the knee.

I like his mechanics, ability to see the field and make the throw.

I just hope Hurts doesn't miss any games.  Sink or swim he gets every opportunity from me to show one way or the other.

You could definitely see Strong complete a bunch of 16 yard passes.... we won't see him run for 10 yards too often though.

Considering his style of play hard to image him staying upright for 17 games I don’t think it will be anything serious probably something like last year but just kinda comes with that style of QB

I also like his "touch"(aka velocity) he can do lasers or rainbows to put the ball in the best position for the receiver. And I will say the WR's he had were nothing special to my knowledge

Besides being in a not so tough division a 70% completion rate is pretty scary

We have a great OL. A QB with pocket awareness like Strong can neutralize the lack of mobility, which is not as bad as Drew Bledsoe. Might be closer to later Drew Brees.

Been reading about his awareness etc. Hoe quickly does this guy process? That to me is, and always has been, one of the most important aspects of making it as an NFL QB. You can have legs ( for a while ), you can have a great arm, but if you can'r read and get the ball out fast, you're not going to make it. Sounds positive on this guy.

Read the defense and make the throw.  Without those things...the rest doesn't matter.

All teams say the same thing,it's on a loop. No thanks,I can find/ draft a BU on the cheap

You do have exclusive access to interview and get to know these kids …..along with your medical teams evaluations.

And do it fast. More than 2.5 secs it's a broken play or you're dead meat. A younger Russell Wilson could get away with that, heck, a young Tarkenton could get away with that. D's are faster, stronger. Nowadays it's under 2.5, less if you can. If our QB - whomever that may be- gets on board w/ our receiving corps - WR's, RB's, TE's. this could be fun.

Well O lines are also stronger and faster,so it's all relative

Wish I was related - than I could hire someone to do this garden work!

Seriously, I thought it was great we ran the ball in a "passing league". Now we should be harder to defend. I really have high hopes for this team if we can defend the pass - very well rounded.

The scare of the knee injury honestly the only thing dude has first round talent as a passer.

I don’t quite agree with this. I root for the guy….especially overcoming everything. Being able to call a play in the huddle isn’t moving the needle that much for me though. As basic as it gets. He has a very strong arm and some quality accuracy. Not just the scare of the knee injury. Durability is a question mark. NFL pretty different situation to pass. You need to avoid the best athletes in the world….that are large …..to get passes off plenty. The league has clearly been evolving to adjust to having to deal with Bosa and Chase Young type monsters(and not talking about double teaming them).

Lord….slow down. The guy successfully called a play in the huddle and completed a pass to a receiver in practice.

Reading NFL defenses is more complicated than some think. You think this kid has been exposed to any level of defense a Todd Bowles could run? I don’t want to say he can’t do it. Just pointing out I’d expect that to take some time to evaluate positively.

Not I. I simply look at the possibilities. What could he become? Our future QB1, 2 or 3, a trade prospect? What affect does it have n Shew? In business and in life I was trained to look at all the possible variables. In science I expaded on that to look at some really wierd, sometimes unthought of ones. Sometimes you just have to wait and see what happens. It's one we all watch, surely.

Nobody is talking about practice?   Although I can see where you seem a little threatened here for your boy.

If Strong overtakes Shew….you’d think we would trade him….for whatever we could get. Team desperate enough might give up a fourth even. But even a sixth is better than nothing. I’d expect Shew wouldn’t be pleased and accept his spot of third string.

Yeah the quote from Siri was about the first day of mini camp.
