I'm looking at/for 5100 yards and 34 TD's over a 17 game season. With the effort we put in to give him tools, anything less is a fail. That equates to 300 PASSING yards a game and 2 PASSING TD's. Totally doable, and he has NO reason to fail. If you don't have the same expectations, your bar is set TOO LOW

I'd be happy if he can complete 65% of his passes

BTW had flooding in FL so I got out my inflatable raft to go help the neighbors out. I would get their mail for them and take them mangos from my trees LOL

Yeah.but if he only passes 12 times a game....... lol

I know  say stats don't tell the whole story.... but for 17 games in today's NFL....those are pretty bad numbers considering the OL and the weapons.    206 yards passing per game...with basically 1 TD pass.   It's not like it's Fulgham, Ward, JJAW, ... these WRs most people would say are better than a Maclin/ Jackson combo.  Plus Goedert and the former #2 for the Colts last year, and an ascending Watkins.

Joe, it is a start. I am thinking over 200 yards in the air plus we get 150-200 on the ground. that's 400 per game which is not bad is it? I just want to see an improvement. If that means 4000 yards, so be it..... I did forget we were playing 17 games now. I was thinking 225 per game would be something to grow on. assuming he completes 60% of his passes it may be more. I have no clue how much they are going to throw though.....

Dude...150-200 on the ground.   Are we wearing bell bottoms and long sideburns now too....lol.

This " improvement"  needs to be significant for him to keep his job.  You think Howie and Lurie are not going to make a move if he doesn't light it up with the weapons he has?

They didn't throw last year in the games where the other team was brutal because they didn't have to. Plus let's be honest, look at those weapons last year compared to this year. You add a legit #1, and a solid legit #4 in Paschal...with Smith and Watkins a year more experienced.

The offensive roster outside of QB...look around the league...it's a top one,  especially in the NFC.  Time to light it up.  Take the training wheels off.

Think having Davis in the middle blunts the rushing there. Help Gannon have the two high S. Think he really would have rather done that last year….but they kind of failed at it.

If you are in the lead….are you going to keep throwing it when you can run? Play smart, score more than the other guy. I don’t need anybody chasing stats to make some fans happy.

And how about this stat:

the Philadelphia Eagles passing offense was 25th in the NFL last season...in a pass-happy league...does anyone think we can reconstitute the 1985 Bears?

Overall, our stats were just a hair over league average...not bad considering they were in major rebuild-mode...but also playing a weak schedule in the NFC East.

Despite having the #1 rushing offense, we were 26th overall.

I don't expect Hurts to become a super star, but I would certainly like to see something like 350 out of 550 completions for 4000+ yards and 30+ TDs.

It is not all just his responsibility to make further strides. Considerable improvement is also needed on defense and SPECIAL TEAMS!!!

I agree... will be nice to see them have a lead vs a good team... instead of trailing by multiple scores....and then chasing those stats at the end of the game.

Joe, Instead of Putting a total for Yardage, why don't we go for completion percentage? I feel 60% as a minimum 65% or more is where he should be with the weapons he has though...

TD's 30-35 is fine with me.

Because the completion % doesn't do anything if they don't move the ball.  That 2 for 2 for 4 yards before the punt is worthless.  We need big boy passes now.   Because we have big boy weapons.

Hurts has the most explosive plays (16-plus yard completions and 10-plus yard rushes) in the NFL this season with 96

Wow... how many of them are 10 yard runs...that a good team will take away when it matters?  Not going to win with that...ask Baltimore

I like having our Oline go attack the defenders early. Going forward and mauling some guys. Different mentality dropping back. Hit them in the mouth and wear on them. Play physical. Then hit the daggers. AJ solves the weakness vs Press coverage Tampa hit us in the mouth with. He’ll beat your corner up.

OH they better throw!!! LOL. Draft picks and 100 million clams, tell me Howie will be on the phone downstairs if we don't

We do that WAY too often, get conservative early and LOSE. DO whatever is working.I'm not running the ball just because I "should". if I'm beating their butts, keep the pedal to the metal. Im a little anxious to see how we use Gainwell this year. All our RB's can catch. I would like to see some innovative plays this year because we have the versatility to do it
