Hurts has the most explosive plays (16-plus yard completions and 10-plus yard rushes) in the NFL this season with 96

Easy to be explosive facing the HS, injury ridden defenses we did last year. Now it becomes real

It’s never easy being the most explosive player in the league

Sure it is when you don't play anyone

I'm glad we did our homework. I had a few guys I  thought worthy of a pick, but we got them for nuttin'. Seems we are banking an alot of "possible" futures here. SO what do you do when the cuts start, if you KNOW you took a guy who can't really play yet? I know  guy like Dean will stay(due to the draft investment), but harder to make the choices on UDFA's

LOL yeah I remember that lack of enthusiasm at the Milton pick. I always wondered WHO he wanted in his place. Anyone know?

Appearing on WIP radio in Philadelphia, Roseman said that Donahoe wanted to take defensive tackle Alim McNeil in lieu of trading down. Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer confirms that this was indeed the case, and that Donahoe wasn’t the only one who wanted McNeil, taken one spot earlier by the Lions.

Lok who we brought in;

Damani Staley, LB, South Carolina

The son of Eagles legend Duce Staley, Damani appeared in 51 games over his five-year career with 19 starts, collecting 169 tackles.

In 2021, Staley moved into a starting role in week 3 after a season-ending injury to Sherrod Greene and finished the season ranked third on the squad in tackles with 65, while registering 6.5 tackles for loss.

Probably won't make the team, but we did the right thing

Yet the FO doesn’t have the confidence to name him the franchise QB wonder why???? Could it be his lack of throwing ability he has shown over two seasons

Well the FO is willing to give Hurts this season one last trial run…. Said it last season and will say it again this year for Hurts to cement himself as the franchise QB he has to take massive strides as a passer and yes it needs to be massive

Because right now he is a below avg. passer

Really zero excuses for Hurts this year he has a good OL, good WRs, good TE we had a top ground game last year even if you took Hurts running out of the equation.

Wow we are reshaping our entire FO it seems…

And if I may, I would like to add a disclaimer: LOL This is NOT a "Hate" post. This is truth.

Key mention "even if you took Hurts running out of the equation." Thank you!

We had a few DBs on the roster last year that didn’t play. So we need to sort through and make good decisions on those. I hope they don’t carry as much dead weight on the 53 this year.

He was named the guy last year. The naked him the guy this whole offseason. The QB factory hasn’t drafted a Qb for two straight seasons. These things would counter what you’re saying I’d think.

Carson got named the Franchise guy and paid the huge contract. Turned out he was in a one year prove it situation. If you don’t do good enough you lose your job in the NFL. Very much all about what you can do that next snap. Relentlessly unforgiving.

Still a very shaky secondary IMO,we're going to need to put up HUGE points- 35 min per game

Howie did a CYA with getting the extra 1 next year if Hurts can't cut it. If he can we can get the draft picks needed to make a run at the SB

What about this Strong kid... the other option I see here is Ham's favorite one.   Let's say Hurts doesn't really do great, " but similar results to last year where we get to slaughter some bad teams and make the last playoff spot or say 8 wins wins the division like 2020.  We lose to the Saints in the playoffs, the picks are a little low to make a big jump.  But also Strong looks decent in practice.

They could flip a 1st rounder next year for one in 2024... keep Hurts on the cheap and let Strong develop.   Another good draft next year and see what happens with the cheap QBs.  We already have two 2nd rounders in 2024, if we get another 1st round pick, then we can make a move.

It's set up really well going forward if they have patience and don't force anything....and that also gives guys like Ham an extra year to watch their QB run for a lot of yards.... on the cheap.

Don’t think everything on the roster is done yet. Would be nice to get as many young guys heavy quality first and second team reps. Really test them out. We have many picks next year. Might find an opportunity to bring in a quality S before the season or at least early in it.

Im Baffled that this Strong kid didn't get drafted?   Watching his mechanics, apparently playing 6 months after a knee surgery that everyone told him to sit out because it takes a year.   This guy sits and gets healthy while studying the game.... if intangibles isn't enough this year, I'd like to give this guy a shot next year or at some point before going crazy investing picks and or $$ elsewhere.  But I guess that's the beauty of the situation in that he is here for the Eagles to evaluate.

Love how he moves left and adjusts his body to make efficient and strong throws.
