#Eagles signed DE Janarius Robinson from the Vikings' PS to take Derek Barnett's roster spot. Robinson is a former fourth round pick of the Vikings in 2021 out of Fla State. He spent all of his rookie season on IR

Hurts increased his combined passing and rushing yardage total to 5,452 yards in 20 career starts. That’s 13th-most in NFL history by a QB in his first 20 starts.

I was concerned there would be major bumps in the road with this D. Gannon has really had me scratching my head. He needs more development as a DC clearly. Doesn’t appear he knows how to utilize all this new talent we accumulated for him. We have more invested on the D side than anybody. Gave up 35 to the Lions? This D should dominate!

But but ...when he takes a head coaching job next year.....lol

Figured I’d check on one of those guys I was real high on that we could have traded back for instead of giving the first round pick to the Saints

Ummmmm didn’t Jordan Davis when he was on the field completely negate the run???? Pretty sure I seen a stat that showed that vs Detroit. And that even more impressive when you consider how good the OL for the lions is.

Ground game exposed us when he wasn’t on the field. You love to talk different players there roles  etc.

It’s great George had a good game but from all account Davis did pretty well himself when he was on the field.

And that 1st we traded gave us an extra 1st in the coming draft and an extra 2nd in 2024

What’s his TD numbers yards don’t mean anything…. Go look up Kirk Cousins stats he loved to pad stats.

whereas the passing game should be there.

Again with the blind faith nothing Hurts or the passing attack has shown from last year and first game have shown it should be there…. If we can’t get the ground game going it’s shut down can we lean on the pass because yea im not so sure.

"......and rushing"(aka combined yards) we know he can run,it's the passing we(still) need to see. 1 game can't make a call yet, but I saw nothing that screams he grew as an NFL passer

Yeah I read an article(maybe on Bleedin Green nation) that questioned why Davis was used so little, then proceeded to say Gannon doesn't know how to use ALL the defensive players he has(ouch). Article was pretty brutal

Listened to Baldy the other day, he had some good things to say. Hurts had a few designed runs but he was NOT taking off after his first read wasn't there. Hurts is better at reading the D, going thru his reads and getting the ball out faster. The OL needs to play together.

On the other side we need to learn how to tackle.

Siri racked up the lack of passes to Smith as "game flow" Sorry, not buying this BS. When you score 38 points and your round 1 WR pick gets 4 targets, that is not game flow, that is intentionally avoiding him.or "forgetting" he is there(which may be worse lol). AJ got his stats, good for him,but as i stated earlier this will be a concern and something I need to watch. I don't want a knee jerk reaction where Brown gets cut out next game, that's not what I mean. We should strive to get all the play makers involved. Quez did not even get one look and we know he can light up a defense. Not alot of target for Goedert either. Siri says 'that will change" so I am going to hold him to his word because frankly vs the much better than Detroit Vikes D we're not going to have a choice. JJ will carve us up,so we will have to outscore them like we did the Lions, but to do that we're going to have to involve everyone, even RB's pass catching. This game on monday will be a really good test to see where we are. Watching the Vikes week 1,looks to me like they don't need alot of tweaks,we DO,so we are behind. If Swift ran amok on us, Cook will get 250 yards himself on the ground and 200 in the air from JJ. Both top notch players and we're not going to stop them, but we need to limit them and hope we can outscore them. Seems to me another aerial show with extensive offense. Home field helps us. Still think this is one we lose, but I hope we can keep it close. I'm going with 35-30 Vikes

Plus the 3rd rounder this past draft....and moving up from 19 to 18.

It's a lot more than ...." moving a draft pick back a year"

Idk... 38 points...do you think the opponent cares the how and the why?  Do the other teams who you are fighting for playoff spots care how you got the 38 points?

Only one ball with only one guy either carrying or being targeted on each play.  The ball advances down the field, it really doesn't matter the "who"

The thing I an concerned about come playoff time... if the " how" is limited to a few things, then it can very easily be stopped by the opponent.

If I played against us... I'm sending 6 guys every play and making sure to force Hurts left.  I don't care how good your " Nascar" package is with 4 DEs...it's not enough, I'll make sure to send extra guys and force that quick pass while playing bump coverage to counter the slant and bubble screens.

I wasn't BS'ing when I said he could pout 200 on us lol. He can kill you from any spot on the field. Im sure they will figure out who is weakest and exploit that to the max

WR's are a rather "prima donna" group as a whole. They want their stat lines,so yes it matters or you start to breed discord in the WR room and I would like to try and avoid that. yes certain games are better suited to certain WR's you have,no avoiding that either, but Quez with no looks at all?  Smith 4 targets,6-7 would be better IMO and Goedert is a weapon. Can't be the Hurts panic run/AJ Brown show or you will start to hears grumbling because stats are what get these players bigger money down the road. As I said 1 game, not in panic mode but it will be something to look for the next 2-3 weeks. Siri does seems aware of this so let's see what he does as a coach. He even said he doesn't want to be 1 dimensional

Hurts is too quick as a runner, 4 man rush isn't going to be enough to contain him.  It's enough to move him off the spot and out of the pocket,  but not to catch and tackle him.   If it's me as the opposing DC, I go all in like Tampa did last year with the backyard football blitz every play with the bump coverage.

Force the quick decision, but take away the slant and screen.  Hurts will hit a few passes on the quick outside go route, but idk, I'd let him try to beat me like that and take away everything else.

Agreed. This D is much better that the Lions. They are good at taking away TE's which is the "out" for Hurts. Vikes will test every facet of our defense and I hope Gannon has some answers after last week. Davis looked mosly good when he was in and lets remember he is new to the NFL,but he played well his first time. He's QUICK for a HUGE man and that could be key to slowing down Cook or at least altering where they run him

Yeah the tackling was pretty unimpressive, gotta turn up the heat this week. VIkes are a big YAC team and if we can't tackle that will hurt

A moment of silence as we reach page 2,000 :worthy:

Anyway was reading up on the new guy Robinson-4th rounder. He's not terrible, he had quite a few accolades in college(but that's college) so he seems like a decent addition although IDK how fast we can get him up to speed. He has played NFL snaps before, maybe needs to work himself into game shape, but after losing Barnett,I suppose it's the best we can do. I'm hearing talk about Shew or Foles to Dullaz which would be "TMZ interesting" in either case. I think Foles would be the way to go because I don't see us parting with our #2 this early(or at all) this season because if Hurts went down we have noone really if Shew was gone and we would put ourselves in the exact position Dullaz is in. But I know Shew would love to start somewhere

Same show w/ Baldy covered Minn as well. Jefferson was WIDE open, I mean nobody within 10 yds of the guy. Have no idea what the D was doing. We have advantages of a better D in coverage ( if they learn how to tackle! ) and some game tape.
