Needed every bit of Hurts running this last week. But loved him stepping out of bounds instead of taking big punishment to try to score or get extra. Balance. Make plays but be smart. Need AJ effective at the end. So I could use him to take less contact at times to preserve himself.

So I'm paying for a full year with 1/2 year production?

Wouldn’t that be great? You know we will lose guys to injury between now and postseason. Each loss will hurt. Hopefully nothing huge.

No, why do you think it's great????

You think top athletes would rather chew gum on the sidelines than play????

BTW I thought we were done with Thursday games? yet there is 1 game tonight?

I don’t want to rush Davis. Bring him back slowly. Would advise extra caution for the rook. Think they already were limiting him to preserve him for the whole season. Now you going to push his body to the max? I’ve stated I ease him back. Try and get a couple snaps before the cowboys game. Then targeted that game for his return.

I believe we pay a staff to know if they are ready or not

Cowboys game and postseason about all I really need Davis for. That’s my focus. But he needs some playing time to be ready for postseason especially being a rookie.

Noone said he is hurting him,but if he gets 1100 and his potential is 1800 he is being held back

And he is compared to a team that always throws instead of runs. So that point is valid actually.

So how many "contacts" is it before you get hurt? I really would like to know

But when you see AJ is in a career pace having his best season it’s pretty dumb to try and say Hurts is hindering him…you know?

Isn’t that always the question?

So if your potential is1800 and your QB can only get you 1100, the QB is holding him back. Thanks for the verification

No I don't know.Wonder how he would do with Allen at QB or Herbert

But you don’t want to find out you went one too many hits on your best players to win against Indy and have them limp into the playoffs. Stats and individual glory always comes secondary. Most important is team outcomes.

But he was just hurt. That small production game you harp on. So that tells me he’s been maxed out for the most part.

So maybe he gets hurt on the first play? How do you know what the limit is?

So what are the outcomes if you sit all your players you are paying? You think the fans at the Linc would enjoy that?

7 yards is pathetic. You can't scheme your top WR for more than 7 yards??? Definitely cut his potential production in that one

That's what I keep asking you,how do you know "OH he's getting hurt on the next play"

Always possible any play does it. But there is some metrics to show how the odds climb of wear and tear. Over use points. I don’t have all the answers. But look at it as when he was injured: needed him out there. D focuses on him big time. So his presence effects the game. Top corner or usually a double team he draws. So need him there to draw that. Helps everybody else. But forcing him the ball while injured would have been a mistake. Making him over do things in the middle of the season would be stupid. So that’s an easy call. Drop his workload when clearly less than 100 percent healthy. But really looked to me that his injury actually just effected his ability. So when Hurts did go there he wasn’t as open. Wasn’t able to make the big play on the ball either because if it. So he wasn’t running as well or jumping as well. So he’s covered but can’t go up over everybody to get the ball. Which he always can be relied on for otherwise.

Now you getting extreme. But just because a player is killing it that day you still gotta consider dialing him back. Do you just milk Goedert or Sanders for that one game for all they have? Or do you still substitute for them even though their having a career day?

Just explained that so add this

Welp IDK any team that sits their starters this early

Especially with Goedert out AJ should be over 100 yards a game. He is our main air weapon. Oh I forgot, don't throw to him, save him for later

Nope. But week 18 that exactly what will happen if there’s nothing to play for. Just like last year. C’mon man. Be smart. You going to throw Hurts out there and ask him to take big hits week 18? Limp into the postseason for what? Priorities man!

Is this week 18?

I didn’t say sit. You only work in extremes. But gotta manage workloads all season. Use good judgement mostly.

So you're going to ask Hurts to tank? Not hustle? We win games by 24 points every week?

We pay coaches to manage workloads every week
