But what I asked awhile back was has there been a guy like Hurts before

RGKnee was slender

Cared more about his brand than prepping for NFL

Doesn't matter how much work you put in or what you weigh. When you run you expose yourself to injury. You need an O line and pocket protection. Wentz was on fire until he RAN and got HURT. never that same player after that. When you run,you are exposed, pretty simple

You guys keep comparing Hurts to others not like him. Using that label ‘Running QB.’

He is starting to settle down now and pocket pass more. This was something I needed to see,and why I was constantly bashed because I wasn't ready to "BUY IN' yet. he still has more growing to do,but he is progressing. Someday, one of those QB sneaks will end in a bad way. Nothing like 1500 pounds of lineman on your twisted ankle

I didn’t realize Gravedigger has ten sacks

That’s huge for a DT. Or are we calling him a DE? He’s clearly the rush guy. DE in a 3-4. 5 man front I’m not actually that familiar with the terminology.

I don’t think stats support that fully. In the pocket is a very dangerous place actually. Running he isn’t trapped and can avoid the major blows.

So explain to me how I was so wrong? How wanting a top draft pick S was a bad idea? Give Gannon and actual Dine package. A Nickel. A top backup at three positions.

To me it seems like I was right on. Playoffs. Not regular season. Playoffs.

drafting a S = no Davis. Pick your poison. We were/are REBUILDING. Luckily players came available that could help us go all the way THIS year and Howie jumped on that chance. We are not done REBUILDING. We will keep what we can afford to keep, but are still REBUILDING. We have a shot at the SB because of what Howie did both in the draft and off season. One year, one shot, then back to rebuilding. Lots of old guys to replace, lots of pro bowlers to replace. Not doing that in 1,2 drafts, but we can contend right NOW because of what Howie did and a few stars aligning. So lets try to get the Lombardi while we can.

I think it absolutely matters how thick and muscular he is. That is a big key to his short yardage. But think it’s what the other runners didn’t really have historically. Cam was big. But almost all the others were actually very slight.

Hurts built himself up like a brick wall.

You admit we are going to lose several talented players

So I don’t get why I’m the only one that wanted to give this year all we could.

We aren't doing that? We are 13-2.when was the last time we were 13-2?

You could add any player from the draft. But I’ve been since the Saints trade wanting one of those three S.

My guy is the 4.3 S. With elite speed and versatility.

SO then this next draft we would only have pick 31 in round 1. With the SAINTS pick we can replace another aging player. Every normal person had zero clue what to expect from Hurts THIS year. Writers too. he has been a pleasant surprise, but we didn't know that week 1. Every normal person was waiting to see if Hurts made the jump or not(he did). We biult a team around ANY QB,nit just Hurts. We have the weapons for any decent QB to succeed. Now we need to change out old guys to continue protecting the QB. We made some moves last draft, but we aren't done there yet. Look at RT,we need the next lane there and Hope Jurgens can be as good as Kelce. Without an O line you go nowhere

I look at the Packers. Think what if they didn’t take the QB in the first? They were right there one step away every year since he’s been drafted. To me….obviously was a terrible move. Gotta think any other position a decent player gets them over the top. Or imagine a stud. They win it all. Almost no way to even question that decision now.

They had a stud, they traded him to LV

Holding the ball is whats dangerous in the pocket. Thats why you should throw it away, Remember Bradford the statue?

Maybe if you are a "slider" Hurts isn't and while that's great for yardage it puts you at risk and why running QB's careers are shorter

Denver is basically the Browns of the west. Being suckered into those big contracts trying to make dream teams instead of building from within(like we do). Colts are just a mess due to crappy ownership and their thinking that a coach can make stars out of trash

We can stop the Saints running game, need to contain Kamara's pass catching skills. He is their only real weapon tomorrow. Unless we do the 4 TO giveaway like last week,I see no reason we can't do whatever we want against them. Need to cover Hill, they will try hitting him alot with all their WR"s out or hurt. Basically all we need to do

No need to force plays. If one is not there throw the ball away. Just move the chains with as little int risk as possible. Let Gains and Scott take more snaps. Let Sanders play but no need to push him alot. Maybe run more 2 TE sets with TE2 helping to block on the right side pass rush

That doesn't matter my friend. He's the mortal Superman, not the indestructible Superman.

2 excellent bowl games tonight. 4 teams with alot of draft possibles for us. With an OSU win and a Michigan win, they get to face off again for the title game. TCU probably a bit over rated, but we shall see if they are as good as they think. Still expect Michigan to win. OSU/Georgia will be an all out war, should be a great game

I was always pointing out how hard the guy works. Just couldn’t see him not improving.

It helps, but not an end all to injury possibility. I know body builders that have broken ankles stepping off a curb. Noone doubts Hurts running ability he has proven it and that is a terrific asset, but if he wants longevity in his career he can't do that exclusively. he is progressing as a passer, that's good to see. His accuracy picked up ALOT from last year, also good to see. Just settle in and don't try to do it all yourself. Wentz did that and he paid with his career

Pointing out we traded away pick 19 for next draft. I know you love it being your obsession seems to be the draft.

So a player drafted in 2022 can’t help in future seasons also?

To me now, verdict is in….GM blew it by drafting a QB with that first round pick. They win a SB or maybe two if they used it on any other position practically. Well….and hit.

You did and he improved quite a bit in all areas. He's seeing defenses better(not there yet but improving). Using the tools around him more(that's why we got them). Just keep the exposure to a minimum. We have the offense where you don't need to do it all yourself. He's getting better at using those tools and not trying it all on his own and while that winning attitude is what you want, you need moderation if you plan on playing more than a few years.. Ravens look bad because they failed to build a team around Jackson, not he's hurt alot. He was their "superman". I don't want Hurts to follow that example
