Has nothing to do with what the coaches to think and everything to do with Howie spending a 1st and two other picks on Dillard so he's going to forced into the competition as long as they can hoping he can justify inevitably being named the starter.

They should play a full quarter in the first game and go halfway into the second quarter of the 2nd game; that seems to be archaic thinking, though.  I suspect they’ll play 2 series in the first game and maybe 2-3 series in the 2nd game.

The final preseason game will be all bottom half of the roster players trying to show something to survive cut-down day.

I don’t see the scrimmages so I have no way of knowing, but reading the tweets from beat writers you’d think Mailata has been Anthony Munoz on every single rep, while Dillard has been asking pointers from the water boy.  I suspect Mailata has had the better camp, but the beat writers have an agenda.

And the fans who had an already existing hatred of Dillard have been eating it up, so much so that the it's become accepted fact that Dillard sucks...even though they haven't seen him with their own eyes in nearly two years.

Yes and eagles had a historically good defense that year, that they win 10 games not being able to run or pass or block was an amazing feat.

Randall meanwhile was coming off an all pro season and was primed for another.

With that defense eagles with Randall would have had as good a shot as any team.

Sure Washington was stacked yet up to that point eagles had always played then tough and the two previous seasons had split the series with them, it's not like wash owned the eagles.

Ben smith was 5'10 185 pounds Vincent was 6'1 200

Smith was a physical tackler and he was a good young corner but cone on let's not act like Allen who should be in the HOF was some chump that avoided contacted like deion, he had some big hits throughout his career and he was a ball hawk, smith wasn't really a ball hawk I think a better comparison would be Sheldon brown who wasnt a huge ball hawk but was physical and could lay a hit

Exactly. I believe that Mailata probably has the edge in the LT competition but it’s not like it’s Jonathan Ogden vs Winston Justice like so many are making it out to be.

I agree with this thought in general. The thing that sways me more than maybe it should is guys like Rueben Frank who spent all offseason saying they think Dillard will win the job and then suddenly doing a hard 180 when the practices start. And he has been on the "Jalen Hurts will be pretty good” bandwagon and didn’t pivot off that ship so I don’t think he’s just changing his opinion on Dillard to appease everyone else.

My gut feeling is they will play starters extremely limited during the PS games. That’s why they have two joint practices, because the starters will get most of their reps in a controlled, limited contact setting.

Maybe Dillard will be a gamer like Mailata, who was so bad in camp last year that they 1) decided to waste a bunch of money moving Peters back to LT from guard on an adjusted contract; 2) Kicked the tires on Cordy Glenn; 3) Crosstrained Pryor at LT.
