Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

He definitely is not playing devil’s advocate.

And what games are those.  You have to not just look at individual games, but the flow of the season.  Sure, Carolina and Detroit seem easy, but then look at the schedule.

The second 4 games the Eagles play, 3 are on the road.

Week 4 @ Carolina.  Looks easy, but looming the following Thursday night is Brady and the Bucs, Eagles could very easily get caught looking ahead.

Week 5, Thursday vs TB, loss.

Week 6, @ Las Vegas, 10 days to get ready, but possibly coming off 4 straight losses ( DAL, KC, CAR, TB ) how will a team with a new coach react.

Week 7, @ Detroit, 3rd road game in 4 weeks.  Hard to win on the road in the NFL, and 5 of the first 8 are on the road, and the 3 home games, SF, KC, TB.

This team could very easily be 1-7

I used to look at the schedule and based predictions based on the prior year but it really is almost pointless. Things change in the NFL from year to year and injuries are unpredictable for all teams. A team that was good last year can suddenly be average/below average the next.  If you have a good OL and DL, then chances are that you will be competitive in games just based on winning the battle on the LOS.  I think the Eagles are talented on both lines and the odds are that we won't have the same level of injuries again.  And, our offense really can't be as bad as last year based on the poor coaching and dysfunction that was going on with Wentz and teh addition of Smith/development of younger WRs.  Also, let's not forget what division we are in.  All of our rivals have question marks.

NFL players have access to top health care, and the top people in those fields to give them the information.  The vaccine is safe, and they have the best in the world telling them that.  If they cost their team a game, they are being selfish.

My work (physical therapy) is forcing employees to get the vaccine. Just like the flu shot and other vaccines.

At some point we are going to see ADA claims at places of work that are not mandating vaccines where employees with suppressed immunities are going to demand separation from the non vaccinated which will be difficult in closed ventilation situations. After what happened to Denver last year, I can see teams segregating the unvaccinated players to zoom participation in position and team meetings

And so it begins…

What if an outbreak occurs amongst vaccinated players on the team?  Is the game rescheduled or it isn't counted as a loss?

Like if they are all on a plane without masks and it starts to spread?

He's in AZ. There's a lot of anti-vaxxers there. Teams in Southern states might be more at risk to having covid outbreaks. Florida is having major outbreaks. So, unvaccinated players on the Bucs, Dolphins and Jags might cause those teams to get some L's. But, maybe the Bucs are exempt from rules now that they have Tom Brady.

Yeah. Basically what happened with the Texas Democrats that flew to Washington.  All vaccinated but there was a covid outbreak amongst them.

The wording of the NFL ruling here that a forfeit will occur if a breakout occurs amongst unvaccinated players leaves open the question of what happens if the breakout occurs with vaccinated players?  We know it's possible but what would the NFL do in that case?

I find it odd that they can do this when it only has an EUA. I'm pro-vaxx, I highly encourage people to get vaccinated, but I also understand some people being hesitant. They aren't making it mandatory, but in essence it's still mandatory when they apply all these rules. It will be interesting to watch.

And again, please get vaccinated.

I had this conversation with a colleague earlier today.  We are both vaccinated but he did raise the EUA status.  Both he and I traveled internationally for work which required some vaccinations. I pointed out that I had the second generation, two shot shingles vaccine and I would bet that internationally more people have got the two shot Covid vaccine than that shingles vaccine.   Frankly, the only reason Moderna and Pfizer aren’t fully approved is the burdensome regulations that go with vaccines because liability for vaccines are borne but our government, not the manufacturers. But that said, approval is projected for early fall this year, so could an NFL team mandate vaccination after that occurs?

Not too mention new data coming in. And again, GET VACCINATED. I only put this here because I think the NFL is being short-sighted

I'm not sure if they can move him in a trade without inflicting a major cap hit but if it's possible to move him in a trade it would be wise.  It'd be one thing if they were making an effort this season but the lack of a #2 corner makes it clear they are not.

Actually clears up 16 mil in cap if they did trade him

And 17 million next year.  Eagles have to clear salary before week 1, they will be over the cap if they keep Ertz.

Moderna does not seem to be mentioned much.  Like a good shut down corner, not hearing about it is a good thing.
