Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

I guess, given the nature of most Eagles fans, it shouldn't surprise me much that some of you are burying Hurts before he gets a fair shake to see what he can do, with a real OL and real WRs... the overwhelming need, especially on this Board, to denigrate instead of just using your eyes for a reasonable time frame... SMH...

People are going to have pause when all we've been shown so far is essentially Tim Tebow.

Yeah, definitely weird times we're living in. Glad to see you posting a little.

Not sure how you worked Tim Tebow into the conversation, but okay...  pause away...

Because the start of their careers are almost identical in terms of numbers, "leadership", a "spark", etc.

Also similar to McNabb's 1st year.

True.

Passing is just a tad easier today than it was in the 90s.

When McNabb came into the league were base defenses running 5 DBs?

No, but corners could basically rape your wide receiver and get away with it. Remember Carolina in the playoffs?

I'm just wondering who besides evil cartoon characters stands like that.

That lady and no one else.  She's not exactly known for intellectual fortitude.

Fine - I will wait at least through the first series vs. Atlanta to boo him.

I’d claim Sims and kick the tires for a couple of weeks. Slot only WR but has experience as a PR/KR.

Could also just go back and watch colts vs. Patriots playoff/afc title games in the early 2000s and see what New England would consistently do to the colts WRs.

Was just reading through the Ringer's fantasy draft guide, and the projections are based on FanDuel's projections. For Hurts, they have:

4249 passing yards

25 TDs

545 Rushing

6 Rushing TDs

Would you be happy if he ends the year with those kind of numbers?

25 passing TDs and 6 rushing TDs (31 total) I think most everyone would be happy with from a first year starter, but these numbers would need more context.  If there are 20+ INT to go along then I'd be less happy.  If the majority of those passing yards are a product of the Eagles being down double-digit points in almost every game then I'd be less happy -- which is why passing yards is way down my list of what I want to see from Hurts.  If the team finishes the season 4-13 and Hurts doesn't show an ability to lead the team from behind in the 4th quarter then the numbers wouldn't mean much, if anything.

On the surface the numbers look good. Would like to know what his turnover projections are cause 31 tds is nice but not if he has like 22 ints/fumbles lost. Also i think it would also depend on context of some of the game. For instance if the eagles are being blown out in a lot of games and he has a bunch of stat padding (i understand usually every team has a couple of games where there’s a bunch of stat padding)

Did @RememberTheKoy make that projection?

I will be happy if he looks like he is making progress through the season in terms of accuracy and decision making.  I think if he puts up those kinds of numbers he would roughly be in the middle of the pack in terms of passing yards and TDs. They equate to about 4000 yards and 23 TDs in a 16 game season.  If he does that and his completion percentage, y/a, fumbles, INTs and sacks are above average, that would be encouraging.  I think he's going to put up better rushing numbers.  I would think his rushing yards would be closer to 800.

Parents don't allow their children to McNabb.
