Chad Lewis is the reason why Eagles fans get bad raps. They over cherish a "hard working, bring your lunch pale to work" kinda guy.

He was an above average block and a below average route runner. My point then, and now, is, Chad Lewis wasnt good and yet he led the team in receiving yards.

Chad Lewis played well and in an era where TEs did not put up the same type of yardage as they do now. He wasn't an athletic TE but it's also not like Reid was looking for him as a mismatch in terms of coverage.   He also didn't get a chance to start until he was 29.  He was a solid TE.  The fact that he led the team says more about the receivers than him.  He wasn't a scrub.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Seriously no idea why anyone over the age of 16 has any interest in Jalen Hurts.

He is so bad.  Just over the top intangibles and corny stools.  There are actual good quarterbacks out there yet you people are obsessed with running QBs.

I got you again buddy, you can thank me later.

One of the most important criteria I put on a GM is whether your own best players are staying with the team or leaving for other offers as soon as they hit their FA window.  I'm not sure the Eagles have lost very many guys to FA that they really wanted to keep; Howie at least seems pretty good at getting their best players re-signed.

He's also been able to sign key Free Agents.  I think it speaks to the fact that he talks to a lot of agents.

So now you're telling me what I can and cant think of a scrub lol.

People like Croom dont even make if on my radar cause theyre not NFL'ers.  Cut 3 times in 9 years, undrafted, 2 catches and 20 yards per game is about as **** you can be in the NFL while still being in the NFL. thus a scrub

Imagine you being told you can be wrong about a prediction lol this place really is unreal.

My scrub TE list: Mark Bruener, Bennie Cunningham, Eric Green and Rich Kotite.

I mean a scrub is someone who is below average in terms of production even when he starts.  Lewis was 4th in the League in TE receiving yards and 3rd in receptions in 2000.  That's not a scrub.

Yeah one team gave up a 1st, 4th and 6th rounder for him.

That was 2 years ago

Yet you said you knew he was a TE because you had his jersey, then deleted that part of your post when you started calling him a scrub.  Thanks to @Swoop for quoting before the edit.

Dubai is very good. Heathrow is the pits.

I used to have to spend 10 hours in Heathrow, waiting for a connecting flight to Tiblisi.

Just long enough to hate the plastic chairs, not long enough to put your baggage in a locker and head into London.

Got to read a lot of books.

Fortunately the return flight allowed me to hang out in the BA Lounge and drink single malt scotch.

I wasn't surprised by 9/11, flying through Heathrow and Frankfurt in the late 1990s, security was tight (IRA, PLO, etc.), flying into the US, it was non-existent (I've been trying to document this, but I think it was due to Airlines lobbying against anything that would inconvenience travelers, safety be damned). It was just a matter of time before something happened, though the scale was beyond what I thought possible.

Dubai is awesome, especially if you get access to the Emirates lounge. All the free booze and top notch food you can ask for.

I flew Emirates first class one time -  their first class lounge is even better then business class. The airport and service is just top notch all the way around.

Lewis wasn't a great blocker and he was slow, but he also had a great feel for the open spots in zones and had good hands.

Those stats dont tell the whole story. Clemson's 3rd stringers would beat the majority of the FBS teams. Great, Lawrence can throw the ball far to a wide open guy each week. Or because his team has 50 more coaches, they  have more time to come up with a better scheme which allows his superior offensive players to be wide open.

Again, College football is not played on a common ground. Between Facilities, recruiting, money, tv rights, etc etc it makes CFB a TERRIBLE PRODUCT.

Clemson is in the ACC, they had the 3rd most players drafted this year.  Plus last year they played Notre Dame and Ohio State on top of their conference.  He also has multiple wins against SEC teams, including an absolute thrashing of Alabama in the national title game.

Nick Foles where you at? Get your MVP ass back to Philly

Oh for Pete's sake.  Chad Lewis should not need to be defended.   The guy was a quality receiving threat, specifically, a great check down, and a great red zone target.  He was decent as a blocker, but the notion that he was a scrub is laughable.  The source matters.   Why argue with him?  He takes these absurd positions of hyperbolic nonsense and then backtracks because it was a foolish thing to say, but he won't let it go.   Let him whistle in the wind.  Save the rest of us from the nonsense.

That Reggie White what a scrub

He was so good he went to 3 pro bowls, and was a 2nd team all pro once.

I've had an interesting time this last week separating the wheat from the chaff in here  (though the difference in some cases is hard to see)...  I still haven't sorted it all out...

You will find your way.  Trouble is some folks start to engage the nonsense and then you see it.
