Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

I'm 40.  I've never seen Die Hard.  I feel like it's one of those movies people think they have to say they love just because.

🤦‍♂️

Something awesome about Alan Rickman as the bad guy, and Carl Winslow outside the building the whole time.

Damn it!!  I haven't seen this yet and I was planning on watching it in a few years

Agreed.  Alan Rickman is the star of that movie.

All great movies.  Now how bout you make like Tom Hanks attempted to and hang yourself from the side of a cliff?

Doesn't bother me.  Everyone has their preferences.

Here’s a challenge:  the best action movie ever.

My pick: The Raid.

I wouldn’t argue for any of these as the best ever, but some of my favorites would be:

The Terminator

James Bond (my demographic was the Roger Moore era with Richard Kiel)

The Jason Bourne series

The 4 Liam Neeson movies where he will find you and he will kill you; I think the last one was just because someone took his assigned parking spot

Lethal Weapon

Raiders of The Lost Ark

That’s part of the fun in my opinion. He’s such an idiot it turned into a cult classic as a comedy action Christmas movie.

love old westerns , john wayne , randolph scott (grit is running scott week this week) , dale robertson , joe mccrea and clint walker. you ever see the last outlaw with mickey rourke

Have not seen The Last Outlaw that I remember, but upon looking it up seems to have a good cast of Steve Buscemi, Keith David, John C. McGinley, Ted Levine, and Dermot Mulroney.  Will have to check it out.  Thanks.  It was an HBO made movie.

HBO has done some good movies dating back 30 years ago, which include (ones that standout to me):

*61 - About the season Maris and Mantle were chasing the HR record.

Citizen X (personal favourite) - about Russia's first serial killer starring Stephen Rea, Donald Sutherland, and Max von Sydow.

And The Band Played On - about the beginning stages of the AIDS situation and the doctors/scientist trying to fight it while navigating through political red tape, the cast is like a Hollywood Who's Who.

Long Gone - about a minor league baseball team in the 50s starring William L. Peterson and Virginia Madsen (who played a character called Dixie Lee Boxx).

Here's a whole list of the films they've done:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HBO_Films_films

Think I've seen nearly half of these as far as I can recall.  Some were really good that I had forgotten about.

I like Alien over Aliens. In Bruges and This Is The End are great though.

So I like documentaries and stuff.  Great movie is Riding Giants.  It's about the birth of big wave surfing and Laird Hamilton.  I've always been fascinated by the surfing lifestyle and how it grew during the 60s.

Captain Phillips is alright. The Town and Departed are fantastic. The shining I was terrified as a kid.

Sicario with Emily Blount and Benicio Del Toro is a great flick.

I highly recommend renting All I Can Say.  Best documentary I've seen in the past couple years.  Wasn't a fan of the band but it was a great documentary.  The lead singer basically video tapes everything so it captures their rise in that early 90s alternative scene up until the day he died.

Is it one of my favorites? No, but I generally find myself watching it when it comes on. Just like Kelly's Heroes, Dirty Dozen, Count of Monte Cristo, John Wick, and a few others. Not sure I can watch the entire thing though.

Have somehow not heard of and seen Fear.  Will have to check it out if you're pairing it with The Crow.

It's not so much the same genre...but it takes place in Seattle in the 90s and I just associate it with that timeframe and whole movement.  Mark Walberg is a psycho boyfriend to Reese Witherspoon.  I just watched it for the first time in years and it's a good film.

YES!  Not John Wick for me.  Never seen that one.

Count of Monte Cristo is underrated.  Not really an action movie.  But if you know the book you know the story.  Still well done.

I’m too young to appreciate dirty dozen and Kelly’s hero’s.  John Wick is ok.  But some really silly parts and bad acting.  Especially Halle Berry in 3.  She was terrible.

Kelly's Heroes is a classic.  @Connecticut Eagle  Dirty Dozen is also amazing.   Those two have some actors in common.  Telly Savalas and Donald Sutherland.

We agree it's underrated. A lady at Blockbuster had to talk me into it years ago and I'm glad she did.
