Sounds like he was taken to the ER for something else and happened to be diagnosed with COVID while he was there. Tatum collapsed at school on August 13 and was taken to Baptist Children's Hospital, where he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Bucker said the school called her and that paramedics rushed Tatum to the hospital. I am not sure where you get that he was taken to the hospital for something else. It sounds like he had a sudden worsening of his condition.

Not trying to make a direct comparison between the two players -- only that at Devonta Smith's draft position one would expect him to be the focal point of the passing offense. I wonder how Smith's targets will compare in his rookie season.

August 25, 20214 yr What are these coaches doing announcing starters 2 weeks before the season? Dummies.

We saw some of that with Scott (203 pounds, albeit on a 5’6” frame) trying to fill in for Sanders last year. Except for Howard (Holyfield won’t stick), the Eagles have a lot of speed in the backfield. (All the rest are sub 4.5 speedsters). Now the interesting thing for me is 222 lbs Howard put up 16 reps at the combine, that is WR strength and doesn’t suggest a short yardage back. Boobie put up 20. Nothing on Gainwell obviously. (Only 40, short shuttle and 3 cone at his pro day). Now Scott wasn’t invited to the Combine but check this out from his school results and pro day. Per a sleeper report I found on him, he power cleans 370, benches 425 and squatted 625. They put up Barkley’s results for comparison. The little guy has speed and strength. https://www.playerprofiler.com/article/boston-scott-advanced-stats-metrics-analytics-nfl-draft-profile/ I think Gainwell closer complement to Sanders than Scott is. I think size has some impact on effectiveness but it's not a defining trait in terms of potential effectiveness. Scott lacks great vision and shiftiness in tight spaces. I am hoping Gainwell is a better runner.

It's like a tiny step up from bare minimum. Even the Bengals are throwing Burrow out there this week to get ready for the season.

Good luck to him, hell always be an eagle super bowl champ!

I don't want to go so far as to say it's critical that Hurts plays some against the Jets, but IMO he def should play some for sure... seems like a no-brainer to me... which is why it'll interest me to see which way it goes...
August 25, 20214 yr I don't put anyone on ignore b/c I read fast and can skim past troglodytes. I have nothing to learn from people who get their news from Fox, AON, Newsmax or worse. There are too many reputable sources (yes, the mainstream media can be trusted, it's not without bias but they do have standards, just ignore the editorials and focus on facts and never depend on one source, with Google, it's not hard to research, for you sophisticated thinkers, Google Scholar is amazing). There is no "government", they're people, some are lifers, some are idealistic (Fauci could have tripled his salary anytime he wanted), some make mistakes. The "deep state" are the civil service workers who've done their jobs for decades and usually know a lot more than the political appointees who are often losers with connections. The facts on the vaccines are out, they do prevent infection, not 100%, but enough to stop the spread of the virus, they do prevent hospitalizations and death by an order of magnitude. Anyone who claims otherwise is a liar or fool. The facts change to some extent as more data comes in, the Delta variant is highly contagious, and the vaccines aren't as effective against it, but they're still effective (Moderna and Pfizer more than JJ). Vaccines aren't 100% b/c people differ in their immune response. Requiring vaccination is a power of the government that the courts have upheld for centuries: "to protect the General Welfare." George Washington required his troops to be inoculated against Smallpox 250 years ago, kids can't go to school without a series of vaccinations - my control of my body ends when I'm a serious threat to infect your body. People who refuse to get vaccinated are fools (except for a very, very small group with legitimate allergies), and deserve what happens to them (and should no longer be subsidized in their foolishness, anymore than smokers can complain about higher insurance rates). Rant over.

We don’t hear about Lane Johnson getting beat either. Not saying he’s LJ but maybe he’s just having a great camp. It’s also not that Dillard isn’t winning reps..he’s getting put on his back…a lot. You would hope they put some wins out there for Dillard to increase his value but if he’s not winning or even looking good that’s hard to do. You got to remember as much as the Philly media buries guys conspiracy there’s also the blogs inability to want to admit when they missed on an evaluation of dillard and refuse to believe he is just not as good as everyone initially thought when he was drafted. We can say the media continues to bury him but some of this is also people just don’t want to realize he likely is never going to be as good as they thought when he was drafted and holding out hope he turns it around.
