Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Wait let me get this straight Lowie & Nick. Hurts isn't declared the starter yet, starters aren't playing tonight, Hurts is healthy but not playing tonight...but he's not the starter.

All of this goes away if we win week 1 at Atlanta. I can’t believe this preseason argument has been dragging on this long.

Well...  you know.... it's...  pre-season...

Free advice. Don’t even watch the game tonight. More frustration and more question than answers.

Seems like Sirianni is a fan of rest over hard work during practices. Maybe less injuries or more? Idk hope it’s a strategy that works cause these guys have shown nothing all preseason.

What a silly take. You actually want to SEE him play for the first time in nearly two years and base your judgment on his actual performance, rather than on random tweets over the course of two seasons which has somehow become defining gospel to Eagles fans all over the world?

I don't know what to expect from Dillard, but if he plays tonight I hope he plays great. But I'm convinced that there are many, many Eagles fans who want to see him suck just so that they can continue to complain about Howie's decisions. It makes them feel better inside to just be constantly negative.

Dillard could turn All Pro and I'll still want Howie fired

Lol and you're in the idiot Camp

By the time this team is good Ertz is gonna be 40

Why keep a decent player on a bad team.

That dude has gone full off the rails this week.  Maybe he started day drinking.

Good article and how unvaccinated players not being made public could impact NFL betting.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/27/nfl-nflpa-should-disclose-the-full-list-of-unvaccinated-players/

Inside information is very real for pro football, and it easily can be abused. This year, another important type of inside information could affect the wagers made and not made on a given team.

The 2021 COVID protocols put unvaccinated players at risk of a game-day scratch if they test positive or if they are deemed to be a close contact with an infected person. Vaccinated players won’t be tested on game day; thus, vaccinated players won’t face the risk of suddenly not being able to play.

So how can people who wager money in jurisdictions where sports betting is now legal be expected to make bets without knowing which players may suddenly be unavailable to play? The rules crafted by the league and the union — rules aimed at encouraging players to get vaccinated — have created this very important potential impediment to game-day availability. If the league (and the union, which also will benefit from the millions made by the sport through legalized betting) wants those who place wagers to feel good about the decisions being made, they need to be able to access a list of each team’s unvaccinated players.

I’m a baby back guy.  St. Louis is too much trimming.   I usually only smoke 1-3 racks at a clip.  I haven’t smoked or bbq in a while.  It’s blazing hot in the summertime on our deck.  I usually take a break during the summer months.  But now that football season is here

I hear ya.  I put up a Pergola with a retractable cloth awning so that I could be in some shade while out there, other than when dealing with the smoker.  It helps.

You’re joking, right?

Nope. Maybe Ertz isn’t quite as done as people think. To me him helping Goedert become a better Pro and contributing this year is more valuable than a 5th or 6th Rd pick .

if we can get a 3rd Rounder sure. A 4th I’d consider it. But just getting rid of guys to collect picks has ramifications in the locker room and to potential free agents, which is far more important than adding a late rd pick.
Maybe NS can find a way to use 2 TE’s effectively, and it’s not like the Eagles haven’t run into quite a few injuries the past few years.

Better cancel the game @4for4EaglesNest, don't want the players slipping on that muddy concrete

They should think about rescheduling the game. Hurricane Ida is hovering near Cuba and it just doesn't seem safe.

Guess we'll see the run game a lot

Please no injuries

I know why you are thinking that way... but... it might not be so.

Ultimately, teams will have a plan for what they want to get out of pre-season, and metrics to track their progress.  Tradition wise, it feels strange to see 1st team players essentially sit pre-season out as we have no idea if/how they've progressed and the questions it raises for match fitness in week 1. However, if you are looking at the end of the season and health, then taking it easier earlier on could have some merits.

Mike Florio and his betting conspiracies again. He's obsessed with how clandestine betting will ruin the NFL. He and Peter King spent a good portion of time pearl clutching about vaccinations and how Aaron Rodgers should have used his platform to call out unvaccinated players.

Blurb from Reub.  I'd be interested to hear where the Eagles facilities rank compared to the rest of the league.  NCC was world-class when it opened 20 years ago.  I know a few teams have recently unveiled ridiculous new facilities, such as the Dolphins.  Is it time to give the NCC a facelift?

. It was eye-opening spending a couple days this week at the Jets’ spectacular Atlantic Health Training Center in Florham Park, N.J. Seeing a couple thousand fans enjoying each Eagles-Jets practice was really nice after eight summers of Eagles training camp practices with only a handful of randomly selected season ticket holders in attendance. The Jets can handle fans because they have the one thing the Eagles don’t have: Space. The Jets have plenty of room for a grandstand overlooking the fields and for large areas behind the fields for fans to watch from a few feet away behind a small fence. The Eagles just don’t have that kind of room, squeezed between Hartranft Street to the north, Broad Street to the east and Pattison Avenue to the south. Could the Eagles ever expand? There’s one idea, but it’s probably really far-fetched. Just to the west of the NovaCare Complex is a massive city-owned tract of virtually unused land extending out to 20th Street. Most of the 27 acres is occupied by an enormous parking lot that’s rarely (if ever) used, and it’s separated from the Eagles’ property by only a fence. If the Eagles could somehow buy or lease this land, it would generate revenue for the city and give the Eagles the opportunity to double the size of their facility, build a full-size Bubble – the current one is only 60 yards long – and expand their practice fields to allow stands. There are so many roadblocks it’s hard to imagine this ever happening. Who knows what red tape it would take to get the city to sell or lease some of the unused land, and who knows if neighborhood leaders would even allow the Eagles to open up camp to fans. But it’s fun to think about. Especially after spending two days in Florham Park.

We have seen time and again that people will use info to influence sports betting.  This is a legitimate concern.
