Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

We have seen time and again that people will use info to influence sports betting.  This is a legitimate concern.

It is, but he has also been cooking this point of view for a few years - for whatever reasons he has a bee in his bonnet over legal betting and will link the most obscure things to it to prove his point.

Illegal bookies have ins on many sports around the world since day one, but Florio rarely goes there.  Most to all legal bookmakers nowadays build the house with enough checks and balances that they can catch whoever tries to play them by monitoring trend and closing markets down.  It would require incredible low level co-ordination to make it large in today's world in the way Florio is hypothesising over.

Random thought...

I wonder if JJAW's mom still uses an umbrella for shade on sunny days. She's gotta be traumatized at this point with how much that picture gets posted.

Nope. Maybe Ertz isn’t quite as done as people think. To me him helping Goedert become a better Pro and contributing this year is more valuable than a 5th or 6th Rd pick .

if we can get a 3rd Rounder sure. A 4th I’d consider it. But just getting rid of guys to collect picks has ramifications in the locker room and to potential free agents, which is far more important than adding a late rd pick.
Maybe NS can find a way to use 2 TE’s effectively, and it’s not like the Eagles haven’t run into quite a few injuries the past few years.

Lol Ertz is playing for a contract, not to coach up his replacement.

Better cancel the game @4for4EaglesNest, don't want the players slipping on that muddy concrete

Oh yeah. 12 personal.  And stunt the growth of the young receivers.  Good plan.  Ertz has more value off this team.  Clear his salary and get a 6th for him.  This team isn’t set to compete this year.  Remember.  Why keep him?

Clear his salary like Carson’s? If they aren’t ready to compete Ertz salary shouldn’t mean much, it’s gone at the end of the year. Play Richard Rodgers if Goedert gets hurt? Screw the 6th rounder, it does nothing. If you want the QB to succeed he needs talent around him. And I’ll repeat teammates remember how guys are treated. It’s not like he hasn’t been a great player for us.

Agree to disagree with you.

It's fun and games until someone gets hurt:

Blurb from Reub.  I'd be interested to hear where the Eagles facilities rank compared to the rest of the league.  NCC was world-class when it opened 20 years ago.  I know a few teams have recently unveiled ridiculous new facilities, such as the Dolphins.  Is it time to give the NCC a facelift?

. It was eye-opening spending a couple days this week at the Jets’ spectacular Atlantic Health Training Center in Florham Park, N.J. Seeing a couple thousand fans enjoying each Eagles-Jets practice was really nice after eight summers of Eagles training camp practices with only a handful of randomly selected season ticket holders in attendance. The Jets can handle fans because they have the one thing the Eagles don’t have: Space. The Jets have plenty of room for a grandstand overlooking the fields and for large areas behind the fields for fans to watch from a few feet away behind a small fence. The Eagles just don’t have that kind of room, squeezed between Hartranft Street to the north, Broad Street to the east and Pattison Avenue to the south. Could the Eagles ever expand? There’s one idea, but it’s probably really far-fetched. Just to the west of the NovaCare Complex is a massive city-owned tract of virtually unused land extending out to 20th Street. Most of the 27 acres is occupied by an enormous parking lot that’s rarely (if ever) used, and it’s separated from the Eagles’ property by only a fence. If the Eagles could somehow buy or lease this land, it would generate revenue for the city and give the Eagles the opportunity to double the size of their facility, build a full-size Bubble – the current one is only 60 yards long – and expand their practice fields to allow stands. There are so many roadblocks it’s hard to imagine this ever happening. Who knows what red tape it would take to get the city to sell or lease some of the unused land, and who knows if neighborhood leaders would even allow the Eagles to open up camp to fans. But it’s fun to think about. Especially after spending two days in Florham Park.

Not sure why that tract of land wasn't sold to the Eagles back when they bought the NovaCare Complex land.  In fact, I thought they did.  Not sure why they'd need that size parking lot.   But, it would be very easy to expand that way and have plenty of land.   And I think 'neighborhood' leaders could be swayed to the opening of TC to fans, if they were given some benefit from all the extra flow of traffic.  Offer some spot for some restaurants to move in to service folks attending training camp, etc.  There's plenty of room to put in Two XFinity Live! sized places.  And if they rearranged things, the restaurants could go over on the Broad St. side and be used for pre-game/post-game for Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers games.

What's the benefit to the neighborhood with that?  Entrance to the parking lot could be placed on Broad St, rather than Pattison Ave. side... and there would be less disruption during TC.  But, the reality is, any money that can come into the city, is a good thing for the city.  The arrangement could be a slush fund for a portion of the new tax income from these changes be set aside to do pet projects in that section of the city.  AND... other money coming in could be earmarked for the poorest sections of the city and improving the infrastructures, clean up the playgrounds, etc.   And for a guy that is supposed to be so conscious about the community like Lurie, this seems like a slam dunk.  Lurie pays for the improvements to the West side of NovaCare, and the area closest to Broad St. gets developed by other investors.

Reub got this one right.  I always thought that parking lot was owned by the Eagles.  Guess I was wrong.

yup.  And this game being cancelled due to the hurricane makes sense.  The Eagles cancelling their practice due to the storm hitting NE made zero sense.

Pretty worried for NOLA area, they are going to get hit with the brunt of the storm although not directly in eye path atm

I set the over under for Eagles points scored tonight at 5.5

Agree to disagree with you.

Trade Ertz now, save $8.5M.  That would help deal with the issue of all the money that Howie is pushing to 2022.  Having Ertz around forces more 12 personnel.  Trading Ertz allows more 11 personnel.

Teammates do remember how guys are treated.  Ertz wants to be traded... but we are forcing him to stay.   🤔.  Is keeping him going to send the right message to teammates?   Ertz has done a lot for this team.   So did Peters... but they kept him too long as well.   Being great in the past doesn't mean that they have a contract for life with a team, that's just not good for the team.

Baltimore may have to release a decent defense back or two.  One of Ardarius Washington, Geno Stone or Nigel Warrior will be released and they are definitely better than the backups that we currently have.  I may call and actually offer a trade for any of them.  They've already got something for Wade this week.

Game could be cancelled

And now the mounds have gone down, does not seem safe to be playing IMO

Ultimately, teams will have a plan for what they want to get out of pre-season, and metrics to track their progress.  Tradition wise, it feels strange to see 1st team players essentially sit pre-season out as we have no idea if/how they've progressed and the questions it raises for match fitness in week 1. However, if you are looking at the end of the season and health, then taking it easier earlier on could have some merits.

Mike Florio and his betting conspiracies again. He's obsessed with how clandestine betting will ruin the NFL. He and Peter King spent a good portion of time pearl clutching about vaccinations and how Aaron Rodgers should have used his platform to call out unvaccinated players.

Betting on the NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry.  Cheating isn't a conspiracy.  I am sure there are plenty of people that bet with inside information.

It’s probably for the best. We risk no injuries and are not subjected to 3 hours of torture

Those are great thoughts.  You wonder if these sort of things are discussed.  I always get the impression that the Eagles still think they have the best facilities in the NFL.

I've posted about this a few times, not Baltimore specifically, but there are going to be a lot of good players released.  I'd honestly love to see them bring in 5-7 new faces but I'm guessing they think their backups are better than they actually are and keep the roster pretty much as is with the exception of 1 or 2 claims.

More about the field.  I'm guessing no game is played.

Not worth. We’re already 2-0 this week anyway.
