I don't want him as a back-up either. He doesn't win games a back-up has to be able to do that

He was a really good college back up QB when that was his role.

Geez.  We still have 10 more weeks of this garbage.

Nope. Did you watch the game or just google some highlights?

Save face about what? I didn’t want him traded.

Watched some of the game. The conditions were horrid. Not many quarterbacks would have been better than him. Wentz accounted for 3 tds.  He played pretty well. And I don't subscribe to the ole "came close to interceptions" bullcrap. Happens almost every game with everyone.

Before we had Wentz with a clown show, now we just have a clown show.

I still want Hurts on our team...as a backup QB. He's just not a starter. We all knew that was a possibility.

The defense being this bad? That is the biggest disappointment IMO.

I firmly believe this defense can't work without at least one talented LB. And I think it'll look a lot better with LB talent.

I give it a year if we take an LB in the first 2 round of the draft.

It is discouraging though that they seem to have regressed instead of getting better.

Hurts is a garbage time master

Look at the splits....

1st quarter is buoyed by the opening drives, where they look somewhat functional.  Then dysfunction arrives in quarters 2 and 3.   And then when the game is over, 4th quarter, he almost becomes a 'good' QB.

And look at that last one... The Greg Ward TD on the final play of the game... so good!

Am I the only person that finds Ray Didinger pretentious, not all that insightful, and just overly absorbed in talking about his process and the depth of his evaluations?

Yup.  The center of the field is a giant void on defense.  Likely looked great in practice against Hurts though, since he never looks there.   Frankly, they should have the first team D go against the first team O, and just have Hurts throw EVERYTHING over the middle... if he can't beat this defense there, he's got no future in the NFL.

He’s gotten a lot worse over the years IMO

I don't listen to him

Gotta love the "I watched some of the game” and here’s why you’re wrong.

Not much else to say I guess.

Big test against the Titans next week - that said Carson’s played like a top 50% QB and has stayed healthy enough.

Yup

I’m sure your not - but I like him.

Yep. When there’s zero consideration of us actually committing to a running game, teams can sit 3 dbs deep and let Hurts flick it to his right all day long.

Running game?

We could have run to our eyes bled, we weren't winning that game giving up 10 yards per play whenever the Raiders felt like trying

This team is so bad and inept that we could go all day arguing about what’s worse the offense or the defense.

So, if we lose next week and Detroit can eke out another win somewhere, we could end up with the first two picks in the draft.

As for yesterday: horrendous.

And oh yes, bench Mailata. Right now Dillard is better.

Keep Stoutland and fire everybody else, from the GM on down.

@LeanMeanGM

Detroit  28- Philly 17 (14 comes while in garbage time)

Bonus Hurts fumbles twice

I criticize Mailata a lot, mostly because almost no one is willing to evaluate him honestly.  With that said, I’d still call it resting Mailata, not benching him.  I think that knee is hampering him big time.

Let's "rest" Hurts while we are at it.

Sirianni so publicly eviscerating Gannon is embarrassing.  Say the boring "we didn't put our guys in the position to make plays... that's on me..."  then go ballistic behind closed doors.  Of course it's brutally ironic with how bad his offense is.  Hurts isn't a pro QB and I really hoped he would be at least decent but man, he is not.  No way in he'll Goedert resigns here with this shite show.

Hopefully this is the Rock Bottom Lurie needs to make the changes needed and then get out of the way.  He needs to do the proverbial self scouting...

Fair enough.
