Am I the only person that finds Ray Didinger pretentious, not all that insightful, and just overly absorbed in talking about his process and the depth of his evaluations?

No.  He's down on the level of Adam Caplan to me. Don't care about a thing they say.

So, if we lose next week and Detroit can eke out another win somewhere, we could end up with the first two picks in the draft.

As for yesterday: horrendous.

And oh yes, bench Mailata. Right now Dillard is better.

Keep Stoutland and fire everybody else, from the GM on down.

I remember having that be the battle cry last season...

Don’t look now but taking out the ATL game Hurts has a comp % of 58.4

This in an offense featuring a whole bunch of 0-5 yard passes

What concerns me about the team is that it seems so rudderless at the moment.  Sirianni and Gannon are inexperienced and it it showing badly in terms of prep and game decisions; they are making basic mistakes and there is no one senior enough outside of the position coaches to guide them.  Once the scripted plays are out of the way, the team hits a 2Q+ funk before being let back in the opposition when the game is out of sight.  What's frustrating is the cap room spent on veteran band aids in Wilson and Kerrigan who have so little positive stuff; heaven knows who thought it was a good idea that they were scheme fits.  I could go on.

Fletcher cox needs to decide if he is playing for Fletcher or playing for the team this year.  As veteran and leader, he has to be better and lead.  Not acceptable for him to moan about chasing screens, blah blah blah. If he cares more about married women and breaking up marriages, he can go pout elsewhere and collect stats for his legacy.  Not interested otherwise

At some point, the coaches need to start another QB to be able to understand what they have in other players.  Hurts looks lost out there and he may need a game (or more) watching and allow the rest of the O to function.  Who'd be a WR for the Eagles at the moment when the QB exits the pocket for no reason?  Should he benched?  The case is getting stronger; too much chaos and reliance on legs.

I'm surprised it is that high.  I don't really want to spend the time to do the research but I bet if 4th qtr stats are removed it's closer to 50%.

This team is so bad and inept that we could go all day arguing about what’s worse the offense or the defense.

The defense is worse.  There, I said it

Honestly, though, the defense didn't even offer resistance.  It was exactly like watching a big 12 defense, just soft coverage across the board waiting for the offense to somehow trip over their own feet. Its bad when the commentators are just outright calling the defense worthless

At least with the offense there is a glimmer.  You can at least see, maybe with another QB, where we could legit move the ball and score somewhat consistently.

With the defense, we're just screwed.  We dont have the players and the coach is (IMO) too scared to dial up anything beyond simple coverages.  Theres no light at the end of the tunnel on D until the draft.

Mailata needs to get healthy.  There is no need to put him out there as is - the kid is clearly not 100% and it's just madness to do it when you have Dillard.

If this team is about players, players, players, then he needs to sit for his own good.

The LBs are playing so far back, it's just easy pickings for teams to move the ball.  Even I can see that.

Glad we got in our Mailata/Sweat extensions.

Headed the way of most premature Howie extensions so far.

I said yesterday I can Daugherty through the bad offense because we have the firepower to get a QB, which would help a lot. I can’t stand watching this defense. It relies on Hargrave playing like Aaron Donald to look decent. The plan, the personnel at LB, it’s pathetic.

Im trying to be patient with Gannon, but he’s making it really hard.

I do think this season is the final nail in Roseman's coffin. It will get more and more toxic if the team keeps on the current trajectory and firing the coaching staff won't fix the issues.  Lurie is loyal, but even he can't sit on his hands and look elsewhere.  This roster and cap space is Roseman's mess

Good thing they didn't show anything in the PS.  Otherwise, it would be even worse.

I posted the quarter by quarter breakdown a little while ago, feel free to check it.   But, if I recall, the 4th quarter remains just over 60%, the 2nd and 3rd, just under... and the 1st quarter is the highest at close to 65% (in other words, scripted plays are where they have the most success).

1.  This is a horrible team that was always going to make most individual players look worse than they actually are.

2.  Both Mailata and Sweat had substantial durability concerns before inking their deals.

3.  Both Mailata and Sweat are major raw talents, but never, at any point, actually put it all together in an NFL game.  That means there is risk that they won't get there.

4.  Recently, the Eagles have been burnt by seemingly innumerable premature extensions when they could have waited.

#'s 1-4 make it a simple no-brainer to just wait until the end of the year.  Between the chance they get hurt, they don't play well, or they simply don't look good on a garbage team...the odds were so stacked that the price would be cheaper after the season that it was at the beginning with all the fresh hype.  Howie and Lurie wanted a PR win and something to celebrate.  That's why they did it.

Yeah, after he was benched for a joke. Because in Philly no one is allowed to have a slump or they gone. Well looks like he worked himself out of it. Hmmm maybe we should have let that happen.

I'm not sure Wentz would have worked his way out of his funk here. Perhaps Wentz didn't think he'd work his way out of his funk here either which is why he wanted out. Why would he think that? I don't know, maybe look at the leadership that sets the tone though.

Lurie will flip on Roseman once his own name spends enough time in the dirt.  Until all the heat is squarely on Lurie, no amount of incompetence or losing will get Howie fired.  Once Lurie feels all the heat instead of just what scatters off Howie/Sirianni/Hurts, then he'll make the move.

Was he asked about the QB situation?

6 minutes ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

Oh yes he can.  He can because he's too close to the fire now.  Before he can see the mess from a distance.  But now he's vested in it.  I was laughed at last year and in the off-season when I said, the only thing that will fix this is we hit rock bottom (which we haven't yet) and the fans stop showing up.  A ton of empty seats or seats being taken up by opposing fans.

That is the only thing that will get Lurie to open his F-ing eyes.  It's a shame that the Redskins and NYG suck too.  Because if one of them were good, their fans would take over the stadium late in the season at the Linc.  Which is what we will want.  And I doubt they'll be a ton of Dallas fans at the linc, the last game of the season, since they most likely will be sitting all of their starters.

Where I would disagree is I think Lurie very much cares about perception and the prospect of moving on from another coaching staff and allowing his GM to sit there scot free puts him in a bind. Which coaches will want to come to Philly and work with a GM who will never go?  Not many. I do think the Linc not full of home games would get him too, as would the scorn of the national media.

Edit: I will add that Lurie would first try to move Howie sideways again, but who want to work in a FO with a ghoul hiding in the opposite side of the building politicking about you?

Make fun of me for wearing a tinfoil hat if you like, but I honestly don't think benching Hurts is a decision that would come from Sirianni.  If he wanted to, I absolutely believe he'd get permission from Lurie first.  And he didn't want to and Lurie requested it, I believe he would.

I don't think Sirianni is running this team at all.  He is the head translator, not the head coach.  Lurie, Howie, and the analytics department deliver the message, and Sirianni translates it into the actual X's and O's, game plan, and playcalling.

The defense is worse because Nick's offense is "clearly working" because the muppet on Twitter will curse and tell us that the All-22 shows that there are receivers open.  So Nick was a good hire.

Seriously, how dumb of a coach can one be to see the opposing punt team on the field and decide to accept a penalty to make it 3rd instead of 4th down?  He makes Doug look like a Rhode Scholar.

The 3rd down/4th down call was stupid

But Im not sure how many guys you need to see open to acknowledge that Sirianni can draw up plays.

Tell me a single offensive coach on the planet that could make Hurts work.  He is like 90% of the offense and theres nothing anyone can do about it

Gannon probably has to go. Siri probably gets another year with a high pick qb

seriously what good coach would want this job right now??

This coaching staff isn’t going anywhere anytime soon . So hopefully there is week over week improvement ,because losing breeds losing , and a cultural that is hard to move on from , there is losing and there is losing with no improvement.

Except these 300 yards of offense.   But don’t let the facts ruin your narrative.
