Every couple of years a 10-win team wouldn’t make the playoffs, and now sadly the dreck is reserved a spot every year. Not better, just more profitable.

Which is all the NFL really cares about.

They are inquiring, but the cap implications likely prove too complicated for anything to happen.

If Watson case clears up by March/April, and this QB draft class continues to unimpress, the bidding war will be insane for Watson. So many teams who are in need for a QB, and I guarantee most if not all will go all in for Watson. Texans might get an insane draft haul. The no trade clause will make things even more interesting

I’m 100 percent positive the Texans will screw it up

Ruggs probably going to jail, career over ?

I'd put Tua, Lawrence and maybe Jimmy G over Hurts too.

Yeah, in no case should you ever drink and drive. But especially when you have money and status, there’s just so much to lose. Monumental screw up by Ruggs.

Don't care about the bolded part for the person who is the drunk driver.   EVERYONE on the road has something much more valuable at stake than the moron's status or wealth, and tragically, his stupidity caused someone else to lose their life.

Think we can get Ruggs for cheap in about three years Gordon/Vick style?

or too soon?

44 minutes ago, LeanMeanGM said:

Kinda. He hit someone that was walking on the road, and was drinking the night before. He didn't really get any sever punishment. He was charged with DUI Manslaughter and did like less than a month in jail.

He was let off for a lesser charge because the person he hit was also committing an illegal act by crossing the road where he chose to cross that highway.  If Stallworth hadn't been drunk and still hit the person, there likely would have been no criminal charges against him at all.

It's not regression. It's just pure panic in the pocket when his initial read isn't available.

It's a nasty habit.  If my first read isn't open I run.

Ruggs shouldn’t be worried about his football career being over, he should be worried about his life being over.

Yes, and if he was over the limit his life is over as he knows it.  ESPN said the term is anywhere from 2 - 20 years, if I'm the prosecutor given the severity of this wreck I throw the book at him and ask for 20.  I can't help but feel sad for him and this whole situation.  One life is over, the other life is ruined forever.

These guys are morons.  Do you need to be a billionaire to afford an Uber?

No kidding.  You can get an Uber / Lyft / Limo / whatever in moments in Vegas.  Any time day or night.  If you're going out partying why the TF do you plan on taking your car?

One thing to watch is Dickerson run blocking, if he can stay healthy, that's a brutal left side - Peters was paired with Mathis and Seumalo, not quite the same.

If Kelce retires, wonder who is the next center, Dickerson, Seumalo or Herbig?

I think center/IOL is still a need.  Seumalo would be the logical choice if he were healthy.  He had is 2nd major injury in as many years. He's 29 next season.  If the team could count on a complete recovery and return to form, I would point to him.  He's also been erratic at times and center is a new position.  I do think he's going to be on the roster next season.  Herbig seems like a back up rotational player.  Driscoll could be a starter but he has had a bunch of injuries.  Dickerson would seem to be the next best choice but he's not as athletic as Kelce and he's also an injury risk. I think it's as likely a draft pick in 2022 is the starter in 2023 as anyone currently on the roster.

There it is again... the running in circles within the pocket for no reason.    You literally can't run a complete circle inside the pocket like that without GREAT protection.   He just has no clue what he's looking at out there.

WTF is he doing.  Bailing from phantom pressure.  He is regressing faster than Wentz.

I'm not sure he's regressing.  I think this is who he always was.  We just didn't have a big enough sample size to see it all yet.

360 degree movement in the pocket gets you extra points with the judges due to difficulty of the move.

He definitely wouldn’t have been charged. My sister actually had something like that happen where she was driving at night and the guy dashed out into the road. And it’s a really not very well lit street due to being an historic neighborhood. she hit him and he died. And she wasn’t speeding, drunk or high. She didn’t face charges. Took her years to get over it cause in college she had met the guy and they found out he had been trying to commit suicide

Oh yeah... a situation like that has to be really hard on the person behind the wheel.   Being absolved legally from any wrong doing doesn't change the mental anguish of feeling responsible, or that there wasn't something that you could have done differently to prevent it.

They have 8 starts, Hurts has 12, Hurts had to learn a new scheme just the same as they did. Pretty minimal difference.

Eagles got a SB and 5 years out of Wentz, and got a 1st (probably) and 3rd back, so it's not like it was a disaster. And they avoided being committed to him for the next four years. And it wasn't a ton of draft capital, they managed to dump players/salaries they didn't want in moving up.

Have you not expressed many times the desirability of rookie QBs to sit and observe? Hurts had that luxury and an offseason, the others did not.

Pigeons can be mostly white.  It's probably a pigeon.

Yeah, but look at the next play against a blitz with the pocket collapsing, I thought that was a throw Hurts couldn't make?

You can cherry pick bad plays from any young QB, how come Lawrence, Wilson and Fields get mulligans?

The issue is that Hurts being an idiot is the norm, not a cherry picked play.

Cherry picking would actually be showing the good throws where he sits in the pocket.

It took her 3 years to get behind the wheel of a car after that. And i was with her when she drove and she had to pull over and cause it was too much. Fortunately for her Uber and Lyft exists now so it makes it much easier especially living in SF/Oakland area

While I do think Hurts makes extremely poor decisions as a passer, he is also limited by the fact that he lacks the arm and release to deliver the ball and the height to see much.

He’s sort of a bad test taker on a multiple choice exam where every option is already wrong.
