well as someone who has a background in physics , velocity is correlated with distance  given the same degree of release.  so the fact that hurts can throw it 60 yards is proof that he has the velocity arm strength to play at this level.

Well, please come down and show us:

That explains a lot.  I hope you got a good grade on your test.

well of couse, that is what intelligent people do, along with understanding concepts that are not difficult to understand such as arm strength and velocity.

If you saw Vick play, you would say he had probably one of the strongest arms in the game. He just couldn't read the field and had accuracy issues. Similar to Hurts, but I'd probably take Vick over Hurts anyways.

vick most certainly had one of the strongest arms ive ever seen. and considering right now the focus of conversation is just on arm strength then you would be correct i would take vick over hurts.

Why isn't Lawrence, Wilson, Fields et al playing at a NFL level?

Because they are rookies on bottom 5 teams... My god, you are dense.

Did anyone get traded?

Tell it to Dak.

Dak Prescott

Not from Eagles. Other than Von, it was pretty boring trade deadline as usual. If you count Melvin Ingram traded as significant, there’s that one too. Other than that just low level players

No, cause Howie sucks.

first off its not 50 yards... its 60, with no ability to step up.   that is increidble velocity to produce such distance.  IF one possess that velocity then they possess that velocity on every throw they make.  INcluding 25 yard outs like he completed to smith last sunday.    you clearly don't undertand what hurts is struggling with.   Hurts is not struggling with hard throws, he is struggling with easy throws.   All of hurts completions are among the hardest to make.

Hurts struggles with just about every throw because he sucks

JFC.  You're gonna get run out of here if you're going to be this dense.   Yes, those screens and shots to the flat are so difficult.

He's 28th in the NFL of completed air yards per attempt and 26th in per completion.

Anything else you want me to correct you on?  Or have you had enough?

Would've been a perfect time to ship Barnett off

OK.

It was believed that Elway could throw at least 60 mph.  Which means that if you released a football at the optimal angle (45 degrees), the ball would cover 80 yards.

Hurts throws at around 51 mph, which is 16% less that Elway.  However, at the optimal angle, he can reach 60 yards.

So being able to throw 60 yards isn't all that big of a deal.

It's the extra 10 mph on a deep out or crossing pattern that matter.

I'm ignorant - what is this big time throw %?

Just now, 4for4EaglesNest said:

And there we have it.  You just completed the trifecta of ignorance.  Citing PFF.  With that always cited stat of "Big Time Throw %"

do you understand what that stat means?

JaMarcus Russell threw 60 yards on his knees and he sucked just like Hurts

BIG!

TIME!

the furthest thrown football ever recorded in history  is this one

notice mayfields ability to step up vs hurts on that one throw  big difference

His arm compared to Hurts was a howitzer.  But I'm sure PFF had him ranked in some BS made up stat.

I wouldn't be surprised

@LeanMeanGM

Chargers 30

Eagles 21

Hurts continues to suck but has 2 "big time throws"

Are incompletions counted in big time throws?

Cardele Jones(who) did something similar. Think it was 65ish on his knees. So obviously he's better then Tom Brady

If we're going by how far qbs can throw a ball downfield, he must be
