Well, Minshew likely stays on the sidelines, OBJ goes elsewhere and who knows how long Sanders is out, and while he's out Scott and Howard are in front of Gainwell.

Yep.  Hightower can’t replace JJAWs role.

JJAW never even ran meaningful routes.  They used him as a move-able blocker for their dink and dunk behind the the LOS offense…and for ST coverage.

Hightower could not possibly be more useless for those roles.  You’d be better off pulling a fat fan from the stands.

Stoll has been eating JJAW’s offensive snaps of late. Assuming they activate Hightower and Howard, that knocks out Rodgers as the third TE and suggests that Jackson will be activated.  Then again, maybe not.

Trevor Noah is a tool on a side note

It's amazing how truly unfunny he is.

I haven’t been paying attention to the Ben Simmons saga, but he faked an injury and is now crying mental health?

Is he trying to end his career?

What a turn. And here I thought Olivia Munn was the problem the whole time.

Depends on what you define as a problem...  An Olivia Munn Sunday Breakfast TV moment from over here

Tbh, knowing the state of things right now, I wouldn't be shocked if more people are disappointed that Rodgers was using "right wing talking points" than they were that he wasn't vaccinated.

I think for some(not all) people, that's what it boils down to.

The way people in the media turn on someone when they promote any type of belief, vaccine or otherwise, that isn't squarely on the left side of the aisle, a portion of the media completely turns on them.

And I'm as pro vaccine as it gets. And it is true that if you aren't vaccinated, you're more likely to catch and spread the virus. You're also more likely to die and get severe illness.

However, vaccinated people can catch and spread it too.

If the vaccine works so well and everyone must get it, then someone in your locker room who may spread it shouldn't be as much of a concern. If you say that Rodgers is a significant danger to others by not being vaccinated, then you're essentially indirectly admitting that the vaccines don't work that well. You can't have it both ways.

Honestly, the best argument is vaccination will slow down mutations into new strains. But even with that, viruses usually mutate to become less deadly, since their survival depends on not killing hosts.

There was a long article in the press a few weeks over here about how an overly vaccinated population against COVID can bring issues of super variants that would not occur naturally.

It's has been funny reading  the reaction to Aaron Rodgers comments.  The interesting observation is how as a society, we've not been able to openly discuss the positives and negatives around vaccination for COVID, so the likes of Aaron Rodgers (etc) relatively bland comments are seen as controversial.  Why wouldn't you call a friend who has had an illness you've got about how they were treated? Or be concerned about a relatively untested substance being used to treat a virus that he will highly likely recover from naturally.

Let me preface this by saying mental health is no joke.  I know so many people, have a close family member who suffers from it and it's just horrible.  With that being said, mental health is almost a new hot trend to be aware of.  See breast cancer awareness the last 10 years.  I didn't hear a peep about it his year for the first time in a decade.

It was a brilliant move on his end.  Who wants to be the jerk that claims he's lying and forces him to play with the chance that he is suffering?

It wasnt brilliant. He found a way to become even more hated, because he FAKED it (since it was the only way in the CBA that he could still get paid without playing), and refused any of the help the team tried to provide once he said he had that issue. So, he is back to being fined for each game he misses.

I think if that’s what he stated from the beginning people would be more likely to believe him. Faking an injury and then crying mental health is making him look more like the bad guy. Seems like he’s just trying to find any excuse not to play.

I agree.  I was being sarcastic in saying it was brilliant but even so, questioning someone who claims they have a mental health issue is tricky business.

Wasn't being serious by saying it was brilliant.

He’s refusing help from the team for his supposed mental health issues. Nothing he’s doing is painting him in a positive light. Just an upset child.

Simmons saw all the NFL players doing it and thought he was gonna do the same lol

Wow, two whole people publicly supported him. Wonder what Baker thinks?

T.O. had people in the locker room here that liked him too. It's almost unheard of for everyone to hate one guy. It's the guys that are divisive and split the locker room that's the problem.

Who cares what baker thinks. He is right to be upset the Browns wasted 3 years of his career. You all act like he killed someone. Look at what Rodgers did this year. It was being a diva. His team is 1st in the NFC. You’re overthinking using a player from 17 years ago.

A few Sixers side notes.

-Why did they have to tease us and let Tom McGinnis call a game last week?  Night and day between his call and the new announcer.

-While I think "City Edition" uniforms are a joke, the Spectrum uniforms were amazing and should stay in the rotation for years to come.  So much better than the Boat House Row ones.

Lol "overthinking”. It’s an example that can relate to any point in time.

Funny thing.  I was really happy when the Eagles got TO.  I was even happier when they got rid of him.   Kind of like owning a boat, I guess.

I honestly don't even remember what it was like when they got rid of him.   I do remember the absolute euphoric feeling when they traded for him followed by seeing them sign Jevon Kearse.  I still remember being at the gym and seeing the NFL ticker going across the bottom that Kearse signed.  I know he wasn't top of his game Freak but man Kearse was just a guy you had to watch every play. That was the height of my Eagles fandom.  The NFL was still the NFL I grew up with, was in my early 20s so going out and with a close group of buddies to watch games all day was still a thing and I was still emotionally invested.  Eagles now are just something to watch on Sunday and talk about on here the rest of the week.

Mid season, after the preseason of the sit-ups in the driveway and the non-stop interviews, etc.

this is pretty entertaining. Ocho-cinco interview

Doctors generally don't have much expertise. Unfortunately, I've found that out first hand. Most doctors either are in the bottom half of second tier Med Schools or went to third tier Med Schools - and they tend to have a narrow range of knowledge, surgeons know how to cut, etc. And they're too busy to spend a lot of their spare time reading research papers. So don't assume b/c a Doctor said something, they actually know what they're talking about, especially something outside of their narrow area of experience/expertise.

Researchers actually study drugs/treatments, and if they're first rate, they use experimental/clinical techniques that avoid the framing effect of a "miracle cure" (We gave him this drug and it went away, couldn't possibly be coincidence or a placebo effect). Even then, I'm skeptical until I see at least 3 independent studies supporting the same result, and no mass of studies contradicting that finding. I'm more comfortable when there's a plausible mechanism explaining why it worked. The problem is most studies are small samples, so even at 95% significance (assuming the study is statistically valid in the first place), there will be 5 false positives out of 100, and maybe more if the researcher is sloppy.

Completely different situations. TO produced in philly and wanted more money. OBJ never had a chance in Cleveland and wasted 3 years of his career on a Baker Mayfield. He wants to put up numbers while TO wanted to "feed his family”

Jesus.  Stay out of science and medicine and stick to talking about your economics publications.  You don’t know the first thing about what doctors do or do not know.  1st vs 2nd vs 3rd tier medical schools are irrelevant, and this is coming from someone who went to the 2nd ranked med school in the country.

Most of these research papers are written by…wait for it…practicing physicians.

Your background equips you to sue doctors, not to provide unsolicited medical or scientific advice.  Stick to that.

I still want to see TO fight mcnabb

Get TO go to the bowl was right

Holy hell the Rodgers interview was insane. Dude is an absolute head case.
