WTF is going on with the Raiders? One thing after another with them

What happens in Vegas… Doesn’t stay in Vegas.   Makes you wonder if leagues didn’t want teams in Vegas just because of the gambling, maybe other issues were affecting those decisions.

It’s been mentioned here before but if retail workers sued everyone that cussed them, there would be a helluva lot more millionaires in the US.

And people would have much better manners.

You remember the old AFC Central then, Bernie, Boomer, Bubby, and Warren.  Moon threw an awesome spiral and was far too underrated back then.
House of Pain game, and the Oilers are the team Glanville gave the "NFL stands for not for long if you keep making those calls, I’ll be selling groceries” speech.

Yes, but I remember Moon when he first arrived from Canada (and how Oliver Luck made his money and bailed, just like his son).  Moon would get "happy feet” and start dancing around the pocket and scrambling.  As soon as you would see those happy feet, you knew something bad would happen.  Frankly, Moon is why I haven’t given up entirely on Hurts. (Hurts has nowhere close to the arm talent of Moon, but many of the same bad habits.) Moon needed that maturing in the CFL.   Then he was the bidding war guy when he became available and the Oilers won. Our starting QB, Gifford Nielsen, quit when Moon was signed because he knew Moon was the starter.  I suspect that signing Hugh Campbell, his CFL coach helped that.  Well Campbell was awful and Moon had a lot to learn.  Moon really didn’t come into his own until June Jones was OC.  Bringing the run ‘n shoot with its quick passes and RPO like reads was what Moon needed.  There is a flavor of that in Sirianni’s playbook for Hurts.  The big difference is you could see the potential in Warren that there just doesn’t seem to be in Hurts.  Moon would dance but you could see he wanted to throw.  Frankly, if I were Sirianni, I would practice Hurts with hobbles and a stop watch. He needs a dose of Leach’s quick reads.

Like you said hurts has nowhere near the arm talent moon had, after coaching out moons bad habits he was still a QB with great arm talent.

Coach the bad habits out if hurts and he's still a qb with average arm talent.

Pastorini was traded for Snake. Oilers had a song that referred to Dan with an ethnic slur.  Different times.

Average arm talent would be okay, but I am not sure they can coach quicker reads into Hurts. He is too slow to pull the trigger.

When I was a kid, the Oilers were my "AFC team.” I loved Moon, Jeffries, Givens, Duncan, Fuller, Childress, Dishman.

That was a fun team.

Because they aren’t the worse roster/team in the NFL, they are solidly in the race in the third tier with a schedule against the worst teams in the league.  Plus, the NFL in its wisdom has expanded the playoffs to mimic the nonsense of other professional leagues.

Yeah... it's mostly the bolded.

The Eagles aren't the worst roster or team.  But, that's not exactly a compliment.  This team is self-declared as the gold standard, etc.  What they really are is awash in the bottom of the mediocrity of the NFL.  This team would be hurt if they are unfortunate enough to back into the playoffs this year.

Attention NC residents... looking for someone to adopt my son so that he can apply to NC State as a resident and save us $20k per year in tuition.

You are being generous.

Agree with you on the Portugal Model.  Treat people like patients instead of like criminals.  But one of the major sources of revenue for this country is incarcerated citizens, which is one of 3 categories we lead the World in (along with number of adults who believe angles are real and defense spending).  The prison system is business for this nation and everything about this country is driven by the almighty dollar.  Europe again shows the way to something different and more productive, but we fail.

Is this a flat earth thing???

I mean I fully believe in 90 degree  angles 45 degree and all sorts of other angles...

I mean plenty of players get in trouble elsewhere, and The Raiders have been dysfunctional long before Vegas, but still maybe a town notorious crazy nightlife and no rules wasn't the best choice for a big group of 20 year old famous  multimillionaires with ego.

Nah.  He barely eats, honestly.   We haven't yet gotten to the visiting campuses part yet.   Just getting some initial research started (he's a sophomore), but NC State is a top 25 game design school... and the in-state tuition is ~$6k, and out of state is $26k, annually.

Let's hope that's it.  I have a feeling Ruggs will have more gf's named Rudy during his incarceration.

Karen’s Law

Eagles are 13th in ppg.

13th in yards per play.

20th in net yards per pass play, 4th in yards per rush.

16th in expected points.

This despite Hurt's growing pains, a young WR group, and an ever changing cast of OL.

With the toughest part of the schedule behind them, the OL jelling, these numbers should improve the rest of the season.

Not bad for a rookie HC with a lot of question marks on offense.

The schedule from now on is hilariously easy, at least on paper.

If Siri doesn't force Hurts to pass the ball 30+ times, Eagles can runoff a whole bunch of wins.

Yes indeed. I remember when Washington hired Joe Gibbs, who had been the OC with Coryell for a couple of years. I was sure they'd be an east coast version of Air Coryell. Instead, he brought the league's best run game, with the hogs and the counter-trey.

Clawson has quietly done a hell of a job with WF
