Yup.  Especially when their own 4th round pick at RB -- drafted 3 years later -- is already a better player.

I agree to a certain extent. I’d never take one high in the first or really I would only take one if I’m picking around the 25-32 range and he is the best player available. I get 5 years and then i can franchise the 6th year. Like if Jonathan Taylor was available at 30 I’d pull the trigger where i can get those 6 years of high production and then not give him the second contract but likely get the 6 best years of his career.

So Gannon hasn’t been fired.   Oh well.

He's probably regretting taking the job as DC and wishes he was still a grad assistant at Louisville

So maybe our team really sucked?

I could stomach it in the last few picks of the 1st, so you have that 5th year option. But anything before that...fireable offense.

If the Cowturds had selected Ramsey instead of Elliott on 2016, they would have had much more success in the 2016-2019 window with Dak on his rookie contract. They had invested all those assets into the OL, so using a premium pick on a RB was just a horrific misuse of assets.

Honestly believe Brady was made the scapegoat for the panthers and their bad moves. Hard to win in this league when your oline is one of the 10 worst in the league for consecutive years and they really didn’t spend high capital to fix it. They’ve had 7 picks in the first three rounds the last two years and spent one on a olineman and it was a 3rd rounder. And then they traded for Sam Darnold who has not been good behind a bad offensive line just like with the jets. And he’s not good in general. And then when you add in Christian McCaffrey is played 10 games in two years just adds into it. Not sure what they expect any OC to do with a. Bad QB, bad oline and missing their best offensive weapon for 70% of their games the last two seasons.

Everything I have read suggests he struggled with play calling and making adjustments.  I will admit I don’t watch the Panthers much. It should be noted he has practically no experience with play calling in his career. I do think Sirianni has proven a better choice than Brady would seem to have been.

Wentz has been a middle of the pack starting QB this year, not good enough to compete for a SB.

Huge bounce back step from last year?  Yes.  Would I be happy with him as the future of the Colts franchise?  No, not at all.  I wasn't happy with Wentz in 2018-2019 here.

Granted, 2nd year in Indy next year with some more attention to the rest of the offense...is it possible he takes another step next year?  Yes, absolutely.  I don't think he takes it though.

I laughed audibly when DAL took Elliott and left Jalen Ramsey on the board.  I laughed again when they drafted Jaylon Smith with their 2nd round pick and left Myles Jack on the board.

2nd year in Indy he should also get a full TC which he missed this year with his foot. Add in the fact this is his third OC and offense in 3 years and he's basically a rookie.

AFan, Bacarty or RTK?  Who are you mocking?

I'm just consistent in expecting only the best out of a QB that gets a commitment as the franchise guy.  I didn't like what I saw from Wentz here in 2018-2019 either.  (2020 goes without saying).

Wentz is not a controlled, precise passer.  Big arm, sure.  But accuracy is erratic, pocket vision and progressions are sluggish.

Wentz wasn't going to win anything here.

I watch them every Sunday cause my friend and i go to the bar. He’s a die hard panthers fan so they put the two games on side by side as they usually play at the same time. Their offense was much better last year in play calling. They were more creative in designing and hid their oline play more last year. Some of that i think is bridgewater would dump off more and managed the game better than darnold and cam.

I'd like to see you name the 16 QB's you think has done better than him.  I see about 8, some you can have a solid argue he's better then

Wentz is 10th in the NFL in passing yards and has a lower QB rating than every QB ahead of him, except Mahomes, who is clearly better than him anyway.  Behind him include the likes of Rodgers, Murray, and Jackson, all of whom bring more to the table.

He may not rank precisely 16 or 17, but he's clearly in that middle of the pack range.

But he’s a bad teammate, has normal bowel movements, likes guns/bibles and lacks the adequate amount of swagger.

Not going to praise Wentz until he actually plays a full playoff game.

How about it‘s year six and he still only has three snaps in the playoffs?

Let‘s pump the brakes until he proves he‘s not a total train wreck.

Unlike Wentz he hasn‘t had the opportunity yet. You can‘t blame him for last year and for this year it‘s not decided yet.

Difference to Wentz is that Wentz had many opportunities and just can‘t stay on the field.

This year regular season. Not impressed one bit if that is where it ends.. again.

He's playing much better (can't play any worse than he did last year).

Jonathan Taylor is the best player on that team.  If opposing teams stop Taylor and the run game and Carson has to beat them with his arm they're not gonna win in the playoffs.

Been saying for the last few years, as have others, that they need to have a strong run game for Wentz to succeed.  You saw it in 2017.  But yet they tried to have him throw all the time and try to carry the team and it failed miserably.

Yes. And if he falls flat for the next five years that certainly will change.

Yes, because the QB completely determines a team's wins and losses.

Hate to break it to you, but he won't get the chance.
