Who's elite?  Ryan Tanneyhill?  Lamar Jackson?  You're kidding right?

No....he mentioned there are 3 or 4 QBs that can carry a team.  I'm saying those QBs are elite.

Not Lamar and Allen.

Very possible the Turds are resting players for the Eagles last regular season game; with only one team in each conference getting a bye I can't see them leap-frogging over ARI, GB, and TB for the #1 seed.  The other possibility is they squander the division lead and need the win to close the regular season.

I don’t think they have a shot at #1 but would you rest your starters and take #4 knowing you play the Rams in the wildcard? Or try to win to get to #3 to play 49ers or Vikings or whoever?

Wentz has been a middle of the pack starting QB this year, not good enough to compete for a SB.

Huge bounce back step from last year?  Yes.  Would I be happy with him as the future of the Colts franchise?  No, not at all.  I wasn't happy with Wentz in 2018-2019 here.

Granted, 2nd year in Indy next year with some more attention to the rest of the offense...is it possible he takes another step next year?  Yes, absolutely.  I don't think he takes it though.

You should see if there's Colts Message Board because Colt45 would be an awesome username.

I agree with that. But Lamar, Allen, are probably on top of that 2nd "group" (even though I loathe Lamar and think he stinks as a QB) And wentz is at the tail end of that group which makes him in that 10ish range.

I don't really follow Buffalo but they don't really run the ball that much as far as I know.  He does kinda carry that offense a little but I don't think he's elite.

I've been avoiding this place for awhile now, even after the win on Sunday. I read a bunch of pages Sunday night and Monday morning, but quickly got tired of all the quarterback talk. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone else has come to the realization yet that it is in our best interest when looking at things from a "I want to make the playoffs and will worry about draft positioning later" perspective is to root for the Turds on Sunday. I hate doing it but I'm not so dogmatic as to have a rule that I always have to root against them.

If we split our two games with the Redskins and finish tied with them in the standings, we lose the tiebreak because of divisional record. The only way we can split with them and finish ahead of them is by actually having a better record. So we really, really need for them to lose some games along the way. Sure, we can win out and finish ahead of the Cowboys if they lose four times but let's be realistic -- that's not happening. At this point, we need to hold our noses and accept the fact that Dallas is winning the division and our only best path to the playoffs is beating out Washington in the division standings.

Like you said -- he hasn't had the opportunity yet.  Wentz played the full 16-game slate his first season and 99.47% of the snaps.  Hurts is falling behind.

And if Hurts proves he is as injury prone as Wentz is, I‘ll be off that train too.

Drafting a RB in the first round is never a good idea no matter where he goes nor the role he plays.

While I agree 99% of the time would you rather draft a RB or a LT who never sees the field?

Najee Harris is looking like a stud for the Steelers.

Conceivably the Eagles and Washington could both get in if SF stumbles.  With 7 teams making it now the Niners and WFT are the wildcard teams with 6 losses (Rams with only 4 of course).  If the Eagles can get to a 9-8 record (that might include beating a resting Turds team) I'm not sure that record misses out.

This assumes the Eagles run the ball well enough to go 3-1 in their last 4 games:

Because passing it well enough might not be in the cards .....

You do.  But not in a game where the wind is blowing 40-50 MPH.  🙃

I was secretly hoping josh Allen got a chance to throw a Hail Mary at the end just so see where the hell the ball would wind up.

You want to pass the ball and well obviously, but you can run and win too. I mean that's how we went on our winning streak.

If the Redskins didn’t "win” the division last year, Mac Jones is probably their QB right now and they are likely winning the division this year.

MInshew was exactly what I thought he was, a bigger version of the Detmer brothers (for you old timers), weaker arm than Hurts, but accurate for the most part and sees the field well. He basically dinked and dunked in a balanced scheme, but you could see the defense focused on stopping the run between the tackles. And you could see that the pass blocking is still a work in progress, Minshew had to move around a lot and get rid of the ball quickly.

But if you watched Wilson and Lawrence today, you also saw that a big arm doesn't compensate for a lack of football IQ or sloppy mechanics leading to bad throws.

The reason they'll stick with Hurts is he has more upside than Minshew, he might improve his passing, Minshew is not going to grow a stronger arm or faster legs.

Minshew Not going to grow a Stronger Arm? Have you seen Hurts throw?

We might never know what went on behind closed doors but this could be a franchise altering disaster for the Eagles.  Carson was bad in 2020 no question. Was he all in last year?  I have no idea but if you draft a QB in round 2 then IMO, he has every right to question his belonging on this team.

I really have to question the support he had from ANYONE here too.  Did any of the Philly beat writers go to bat for him?  Not saying they have to, it's not their job.  However, they are doing just that with Jalen Hurts.  It's like they feel they owe Hurts something.

Look at the media bending over backwards to support Jalen Hurts and if you question that Minshew should start against the Redskins, be damned, there've never been a sillier question!!!

The deciding factor is whether the team has already decided on Hurts future or not.  If not, then you have to give him the ball and see what he can do in the big games.  I think that is the most likely scenario and I'm fine with that even though if it was my decision I'd just have some fun with Minshew Mania and get another QB for next year as I don't see Hurts becoming our franchise guy.

Beat writers were getting whispers from those within the organization of Wentz had created issues with teammates, coaches and others in the organization for years. Plus he was playing so God awful last year it was painful to watch Eagles games, and probably to cover them as well.

Listen, no one loves the run game more than I do.  And I was screaming for it, especially since we refused to run earlier in the season.  But necessity is the mother of invention.  The only reason we did a complete 180 to the run game, because Jalen Hurts sucks as a passer.  The longest winning "streak" we have had this year is 2.  You need to be able to stretch the field and pass with a real QB in order to win a lot of games and go deep in the playoffs.  Yes, you can win games in the league by running the ball 60-70% of the time.  But when it really matters....you need a QB who can throw.  Going deep and winning a championship requires a balance.

Somewhere between Tucson AZ and Clayton NC

Absolutely, I'm not arguing. But this front office drives me nuts with there, fire away mentality, no matter what. It seems fitting that when they shifted gears and focused on running the ball that's what saved our season.

You do. The joke was her calling it a "triple option" when McCorkle Jones was not running a triple option.

I hope they don't think he's the future. I don't want them starting with Hurts in 2022 because I think he limits the offense as a passer. I know Minshew isn't the one and the draft likely doesn't have him either though
