What the hell does "off target" mean to these people?

Indeed. I believe after going - what? - 11 for 11, he threw a pass into the ground beccause the Jets had sniffed out the screen.

Come to think of it, he was aiming for the ground and he hit it, so...never mind.

I assume throwaways are excluded but even on some of the completions they were clearly underthrown. Feels disingenuous to call that "on target" when the WR/TE had to adjust to be where they needed to be.

Someday, people will come to see that these fools just throw numbers around but that they have no meaning.   Meanwhile, people PAY to have access to these awesome evaluations and the numbers they throw against the wall.

Hurts deserves it. Minshew doesn't.

funniest thing Ive read all day, dumbest too

Minshew will always have good QB ratings, he completes a lot of short passes and doesn't throw a lot of Ints.

QBR 44.6, 51.7 is a more accurate reflection of his Jacksonville performance, still better than Lawrence with similar talent, QBR = 33.7.

Hurts is 48.0 so far this year, similar to Minshew.

That was the argument they used for Hurts....they then went out and overpaid and guaranteed money to Joe Flacco to back up Hurts.

You can find a backup QB in the later rounds, trade or FA.  Not the 2nd round.

Yes, and most of them can't win you games when your starter gets hurt - so you save that 2nd rd pick and miss the playoffs.

Still beating this drum, eh?

What did it cost the Eagles to bring in Koy Detmer?  AJ Feeley?  Jeff Garcia?  Nick Foles? and for that matter Gardner Minshew?    Not a 2nd round pick... nor $10M/year.

Incidentally, the Eagles spent that 2nd round pick last year... and also missed the playoffs.

Gardnew Minshew career starts: 21

63.5 comp, 39TD/11int, 94.4 qb rating.

Everyone "knows” he’s not the answer (and I’d agree).

Jalen Hurts career starts: 16

57.7 comp, 19td/12int, 82.0 qb rating.

”We have to give him a shot to see if he’s the guy.”

Are you f-ing kidding me?  What the hell are we going to learn in the next 5 games before he’s had as much opportunity as Minshew…who is clearly better and clearly only a backup himself?

Yeah, but what about total stats?!

And I happen to know that Hurts has intangibles and leadership that is off the chart. Did you see him talk to Herbig after the bad snap? No other player in the league would do that. In fact, rumors say Minshew actually told Herbig "Nice snap, fatass".

Actually... I could see him doing just that, but with a giant smile on his face.   And it's exactly the kind of thing I'd say to my brother or he to me.

You know a player sucks when the guy defending him has to bring up leadership and intangibles. And talk about how "off the charts” they are.

Also men rip on each other all the time and aren’t little pu$$y boys

How to know if someone's a humper:

They (unironically) talk about his running, leadership or intangibles.

Could be, lol

They spent a 2nd round pick on a backup.

Yes, they did.   And he's still a backup, even if he starts the game.

Or even better, a non playoff team (Eagles) could invest that second round pick in a backup qb and still miss the playoffs, then hand that backup qb the starting job because they botched the actual qb situation, and continue to miss the playoffs.

Thats much better.

Good news, the NFL made it easier to make the playoffs now, and so even an under 0.500 team has a real chance of making it as a wild card this year.

Start Minshew till the end so we have entertainment. Then get ready to draft a real one.

He’s not in love with Hurts.  Once the Eagles move on from Hurts, we’ll hear nothing but how the offense will be upgraded simply by having the new qb in there.
