I am, and the statement from the cop is bad and very misleading.  Yes, that deer in that circumstance went over the car.   But there's far FAR many bad things to happen when speeding.   That's a stupid statement for the cop to make.  Maybe... just maybe if your friend was going 30 instead of 65... he'd have had enough time to react and miss the deer.   The idea that it's ok to drive 25 mph over the speed limit because hitting a deer at high speed is safer than 'at the speed limit' is just HORRIBLE advice and it is NOT something that anyone should take seriously when traveling on deer infesting roadways.    I'd also mention that speed limits are set at specific values for specific reasons.  The engineers that design the roads don't just make up those numbers.

Hey man I wasn't there just telling you what the cop told my friend and that the deer didn't go through my friends windshield.

Having said that if engineers that design roads set the speed limits then why do automotive engineers make cars that exceed those set limits.

Why does my cars speedometer go to 130???

I think the only state without a speed limit is Montana and though there aren't alot of people to run over there sure is plenty of wild life out there , I imagine hitting a bear at 110mph is going to send you to the morgue quicker than hitting a bear at 60?

No this is like 2017. Starter gets hurt. Backup comes in and leads us to a Super bowlzzzz

I hit a deer going about 45 mph in Vermont where I'm from/live.  It busted in my hood a little but but luckily flew up in the air and landed down into a gully.  I managed to keep my composure and pull over after a couple hundred yards into a safe spot.  Being the red neck town I'm from the guy behind me also stopped got out of his car and ran over to me and said "you going to keep that deer"?  Didn't ask if i was ok or hurt or care my sh!tty car at the time was damaged.

That said I've seen moose 6-7 different moose in my travels around Vermont.  They're obviously not quite the size of the ones that dude had on his TikTok and they also are getting massacred by ticks these day which is really putting a dent into the moose population

Guy must of worked for the roadkill grill.

That stat is pretty ugly for hurts, not sure how anyone could defend that, where's RTK???

I always figured hurts completion% which isn't all that great in the first place was skewed by really short passes screens dump offs ect but wow didnt think it would be that low, pretty telling.

You repeated the foolish statement by the cop to your friend.  If left unchallenged those who are ignorant of the dangers of that sort of reckless behavior might be led to follow that reckless behavior.

Civil engineers that design roads have very different goals in mind than those looking to sell cars.

Didn't we learn recently how dangerous driving at stupid fast speeds can be, not to one's self but to others?   If there are speed limits... obey them.  If there aren't, don't be a fool just because its legal.  And when driving in areas with limited visibility and known deer haunts... be smarter and recognize that driving 60% over to speed limit will lead to travelling over two and a half times as far before you can stop compared to the speed limit, and that's not considering your reaction time, nor the fact that you can't see the dangers in given areas due to twists and turns, ups and downs.   Your friend was driving like a fool, from your account and got lucky.  That doesn't happen for everyone who does, nor for those around those who do.  To drive a vehicle is to operate a deadly weapon... they should be handled properly and with proper respect for those who share the roads.

I wonder what the odds of that are?

Apparently 1 in 4.

I won't go over 40 yards. I haven't actually shot at a deer with it over 30. This years buck was at 20. I know people that shoot 50 plus and they even make one now that's supposed to shoot 100. Just way too much stuff that can happen at that distance imo

20 yards is my limit for the recurve - assuming my form is good.

While I am not a fan of Hurts, do not think he is the answer, and think we should look elsewhere for a QB, kind of stupid to not draft talent to help contribute towards that evaluation.

The team needs an influx of talent on the defensive side of the ball.  I don't think they need offensive talent to evaluate Hurts.  It's a mistake to trade for future draft capital if it limits the ability to improve the team in 2022 on defense.   Drafting an elite QB with a lot of draft picks doesn't get this team a Championship.  The team is far more likely to reach a Championship if they can field a top 10 defense and a young QB.  I mean look at Mac Jones and NE.  NE's riding to the number 1 seed on the defense and a running game.  It's myopic to think QB has to be the first part.

As long as he can clear the moat... of course, it depends on whether the arrows are flaming or not.

Ahhhh 2021 where a differing opinion or facts you don't like instantly qualify as hate.  Gotta love it huh?

Ruggs was also drunk so...

Having said that my friend was a teenager at the time, most teenagers are foolish no?

Thanks for the diatribe on safe driving though d DAD😉

Having said that maybe there would be less accidents on the road if cars speedometers didnt go to 130.

I mean why they heck do I need to know from a commercial before buying a Car that it goes zero to 60 in 3 seconds🤔

If I plan on drag racing then yeah that's useful Information.

Soccer mom's going to pick up milk not so much.

Only teams with a bye falling in a certain week win the Super Bowl.  Only 3 other teams on bye with the Eagles this week.
