His stats say otherwise. He’s an above average QB. I’d guess 15-20 teams would easily hand over a 1st round pick for him. The Eagles being one of them. It’s stupid to think otherwise

His stats suggest the league has caught up to him and he's rapidly declining.

Shouldn't that say something if one quarterback is expected to receive trade requests while at the same time I've never heard a peep of another team being interested in Jalen Hurts.

I said at the end of last season the Eagles should gauge the trade interest for both Wentz and Hurts; it was obvious there was no option to keep both.  The trade value for Wentz was a 1st and a 3rd round pick -- not sure Hurts had any trade value.

The Eagles should again be gauging the trade market for both Hurts and Minshew this offseason.  I doubt either is the long-term answer at QB.  If Minshew is worth a mid round pick -- what is Hurts worth?

Seeing a lot of players placed around the league placed on the Covid list.

Concerned about how many Eagles will return from the bye with it.

Maybe it's because they've had a couple instances with sewage water bursting through pipes but their stadium seems like a dump.

It says that teams would rather trade a 5 for Minshew than a 2 for Hurts.

I think Minshew is gonna stick around the league for awhile.  Likeable moderately-high accuracy guy who minimizes mistakes.  Could see a Josh McCown/Josh Johnson-esque career.

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, Minshew was never in the Eagles' plans.

The QB for 2022 was always going to be either Hurts or Wilson/Watson/1st Rd QB.

When the Eagles traded Feeley, Kolb, and McNabb for 2’s, teams expected to make something out of them as starters.  No one will expect that for Hurts or Minschew.  They’ll either want these guys as backups or a team that intends to draft a qb will be interested in them as the placeholder starter hedge against finding their guy in the draft.  No one is going to give up much for that role, 4 max…so Minshew for a 6 isn’t quite the coup many make it out to be.

@4for4EaglesNest

He’s really, really, really regretting taking the job now.

I think Minshew is a good backup and what we would get in return won‘t outweigh that loss for us, not even close.

But in the real world you don‘t block a guys chance of a better future like this or there could be consequences trying to get players here or keeping the team happy.

So as long as he‘s ok to stay I‘d keep him.

Naturally we’ll go with the QB who would draw little to no trade interest.

Most teams view Minshew as at least a bridge starter with upside; at worst he's a high-level backup. Could he generate at least a mid-round pick, giving the Eagles an upgrade considering what they gave up in compensation? Perhaps.

Isn’t that exactly what the Eagles need? Hurts was anointed the starter with competition from Flacco and Nick Mullens. What has he shown to continue as the starter for next season?

Anyone got a eagles rooting guide today? Might bet some money too. Need some rooting interest. And no I'm not rooting for Dallas.

Cooper Kupp interview:

"Yeah, they had a little, three-deep fire zone. Brought the nickel off the edge, safety dropped down. They didn’t look like they were doing a replacement fire zone, so I knew with the back away, we were going to get three pushingthrough that had an opportunity to kind of run there if I could beat my guy, just had to beat the safety to the end zone.”

It makes no sense at all.  Hurts was straight up handed the position and let's be honest, there was no competition from Flacco.  He was here to be the backup.  It's not even Hurts' job to lose, its just Hurts' job.  You can't question it, he's the quarterback.

And yes, a bridge starter with upside/high-level backup is exactly what the Eagles need.

Eh Jerry had some extra room left after loading all his Johnny Walker blue.

Go no names!

He's a 2nd round pick for better or worse.  After Wentz left the Eagles were still paying the $32M against the cap for fim for this season.  With no cap room there wasn't any alternative but to make Hurts the starter.

Whether he still is for 2022 will be up to the coaching staff.

Apparently the opposing team has full control of their own sidelines per that same guy I quoted.  So if they want to they can. Which seems really dumb.

Up to the coaching staff? You sure about that?
