Charleston Rambo will be this years Van Jefferson.

its weird, because Jefferson was unathletic for the WR position. But, finds a way to make big plays down field in the NFL.

Rambo looks thin but super athletic. Good height and great speed. Makes tough catches, runs after the catch... I dont know why he has absolutely no recognition. He was on a big stage at Oklahoma and every time  youd want to watch CeeDee Lamb play,  youd be seeing Rambo make big plays and look just as good. Transferred to Miami and still looks good.

In week 15, Hurts was ranked...

- 4th in QB Rating
- 3rd in passing yards
- 13th in EPA

He was a top 5 QB this week without counting his rushing stats. Oh, and the INT that dropped his numbers down should have been a big gain.

Hurts was good yesterday, full stop.

Awesome, another year of Hurts.  F'ing shoot me

It was pretty funny in the stadium. Everytime they said Reagor's name the entire stadium booed. Wasnt a surprise but was funny. If Lurie and Howie don;t get the hint that he needs to be gone next season by now then we the fans will help him understand.

I am not sold on Hurts being the guy he was last night consistently... mainly because Washingteam didn't practice before hand, guys were coming back from Covid and may or may not have been dealing with post-Covid fatigue.  Lots of variables there.   All that said, he did what he was supposed to do... go out and dictate to their defense.  The better test will be when the meet again on Jan 2.  Washingteam should be recovered by then, and we'll see if Hurts can do that again.   We'll also see how he handles the Giants' defense that completely stymied him last time.

This is a fair take! If Hurts wants to be the guy in 2022, he needs to play the rest of the way like he did last night. If he does, it's a no-brainer to bring him back.

That’s pretty much where I’m at.

He had a good game last night. The fact that some folks are mad about it is just weird.

Reagor also had his best day as a receiver with wait for it....57 yards.  I'm still holding out a tiny bit of hope he can be salvaged in to some sort of multi use offensive weapon rather than a traditional WR.  No, not worth his draft slot, yes they passed on Jefferson but better to get SOMETHING out of him.  They've already given up on JJAW.  ugh.

I'm pretty sure he's on track for another year anyway.   Then again, yesterday also works in the Eagles' favor of trying to flip him to recoup losses in a trade for a vet QB... or to include in a trade for a vet QB.

100%

I am in agreement with the sentiment that Hurts can be our guy next year if he finishes the season with performances just like we saw last night.

I dont think he will.

But if he does, Im ok with him starting as our starter next year.

And even more improved defense, and maybe another WR with that level of QB play will make us a solid team.

I think he's back either way... unless they go all in for a guy like Wilson.

Its already locked in that Hurts will not be the future of this team. I hate to upset the squirts for Hurts crew but its already signed, sealed and delivered.

Now he still might be the starter for 2022 if they dont feel there is a QB they want or can get this offseason. But Lurie and Howie know Hurts is not the answer for the type of offense they want to run.

With the Giants against Hurts, the Giants did something I haven't seen other teams do and I'm surprised they haven't....they hit Hurts on almost every single play. On running plays, even after he handed the ball off, they took a shot at him, almost every single time. I have to imagine we see that again.

I don't get it. Hurts being a good starter is best-case scenario. He costs 2M/Y in salary, would allow us to use 3 1st rounders on other positions, allows offensive continuity, etc.

Reagor had his best day because they decided to completely ignore the rest of the team and make him Hurts main read every play until he finally had some plays go his way. And we all know Hurts is a one read QB so once that ball is snapped he locks on his main read and doesnt look back. If I was Smith, id be a little pissed cause they completely ignored him in the 2nd half to get Reagor a feel good moment for himself.

There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that he’s grown this year.

And it makes perfect sense to give him one more year to see how much more potential he has….especially since it’s such a weak QB class.

Thats just rational personnel management.

It's not that people are angry about it, I think most agree he had a good game last night. But Wash was definitely affected by a weird week. But one good game against a team depleted by Covid doesn't erase the rest of the season, where he's shown more often than not that he isn't the guy moving forward.

If he has a strong finish to the rest of the year, and even gets us in the playoffs, then there'll be healthy debate on if he should return next year.

I think that's a great way to improve the team to be a 10-11 win team.  Beat up on the weak sisters of the NFL consistently... and you can get to 0.500 pretty easily.   Pound the rock with the running game as well... keeps the defense fresh.   Lots of draft capital to improve the defense.   Spend a decent pick... maybe a 2nd, at least a 3rd for a RB that you can play ball control with (Spiller would be a nice fit) and let Hurts throw 20-25 times a game.  That will make almost every game 'winnable'.

BUT... the question will be what does that translate to in the playoffs.

I was on rebuild mode, higher draft picks, etc.  BUT, I've morphed into make the playoffs and see what Hurts does there.  If he proves he can do what he did last night, win or lose, I will feel better about him moving forward.  But, honestly, even if he matches this performance against NYG, WASH and DAL down the stretch... the real test is in the playoffs.  Because that's what really matters.  If you don't have a QB that ALLOWS you to win in the playoffs, you can't move forward with him.  If he can... then you can.

With the RPOs and the Read Options... you have to do that.  Make him think about it... nothing significant, just let him know that you are there.  Not hard enough or late enough to draw a flag, but often enough and hard enough to rent some space in his mind.

Yeah it's a great strategy, and considering the results, worked really well. I'm just very surprised more teams don't do it.

Honestly, I think it comes down to the Patriots' pedigree Judge has.   That's a Belichek move.  Seems to not affect anything, could draw a penalty, but QBs don't like to be hit... even running QBs, especially when they don't even have the ball.  And even if it costs you a penalty once or even twice... the cumulative effect can be dramatic... and he might start to feel it even when they aren't nearby.

Yep makes sense. And honestly, test the refs. If they aren't going to call it, why not do it till they do?

After all that fun dancing around the sexual connotations surrounding the tactics of Naval Dive Bombers, I do have an observation regarding our current starting QB.

I bothers me that he doesn't seem to find, presnap, the likely matchups that result in our guys running free and clear through the secondary. I felt bad for Reagor, who needs some positive plays, when he had 10 yards on the safety and was headed for paydirt but Hurtz never saw him. Happens quite a bit, too much to be a choice between several open guys. Take the easy TD or throw into traffic. He can only take the easy TD if he identifies it first. It is obvious Hurtz' entire process is limited to a couple quick looks and go, pull the trigger or run. I can't remember him ever hitting a hot read in the face of a blitz. Dumping off to an outlet is not the same as executing a completion into the areas vacated by a blitzer. That would require presnap recognition and route adjustments at the line.

He seems to be able to adjust blocking schemes based on D alignments ( or is Kelce doing that?) but checking into pass routes to take advantage of coverage schemes aren't his strong suit. Nick and Shane have shown they can scheme guys open and I'm sure Sirianni has those types of audibles available, everybody does. Why are they not used. Is it too much to put on Hurtz plate? Are they protecting him? Playing to his strengths with RPOs and such and away from his weaknesses?

My takeaway is that all indications are Hurtz is one hell of an athlete, a great teammate and a positive locker room guy but it seems he will always be limited by his processing shortcomings. He'll give you 100% every play but his QB IQ is lacking.

I think Sirianni is just trying to get through the season unscathed, and the price is right. Get the best he can outa the guy and be prepared to move on when a more qualified guy becomes available.

At least, I hope so.

Those eagles fans are idiots.

Goedert 2 drops, Gainwell 1 drop, Ward 1 drop Reagor zero drops on 3 targets and over 50 yards.

Nothing to write home about but still a solid day for Reagor.

Lurie and Howie don't care if you boo, you paid for a ticket either way, you buy beer either way, you can boo the whole game and lots of eagles fans do but as long as your butts in the seats they don't care.
