Sirianni had a great game, and more than anyone, the player that held them back on a few drives was Goedert. Hurts moved the ball all night long with uncharacteristic accuracy and poise.

Except when he didn't

How quickly we forget that Devonta had to bail him out with the toe drag swag to avoid a 3rd and 11 down 0-7.  Huge bail out, too bad Hurts fumbled the ball away on that drive.

Or that Goedert bailed him out after throwing a prayer into double coverage.  If Goedert doesnt wrestle the ball away, we go into half down 3-10 at a minimum

We were running Navy's offense for a chunk of that game.  We had Slay running routes and Smith as an in-line TE.

Hurts missed Gainwell for a wide open TD, threw to double coverage instead = FG

Hurts made a good pass to Goedert over the middle.....but missed Reagor for a TD on the same play.

The dude decides where hes going with the ball as soon as the play is called.

But hey, all of this is definitely sustainable for sure.  No one will catch onto this and we wont play any healthy teams ever again. Hell give Hurts another 4 years just so we can be absolutely sure we maximize his career and triple verify he cant read a defense.

If anything, you guys should be impressed with Sirianni.  That was probably his best game and dudes were wide open all game long.

Well it's also a nuanced problem. You can argue that Russell Wilson, Derek Carr, etc... are better than Hurts going into this offseason, but it doesn't necessarily mean the best use of our draft capital and cap space with how this team is presently constructed is the best move, if we're thinking about making a Super Bowl caliber roster.

One can also argue if this team is capable of winning 8-10 games with Jalen Hurts at QB, this could easily be an 11-12 win team with Wilson or Watson at QB. And at that point, in this parity driven NFL, you can compete with anyone.

First, if Siri has COVID, likely that we are about to see a LOT of COVID cases.  Pretty sure he had close contact with pretty much the entire team.

Second, given the amount of COVID cases currently affecting the league,  there's just no way way that the league continues on business as usual.   At what point do you reschedule games?  Would it consider dropping a week?   Does this change in playoff time?

Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks.

Well I mean given how we’ve seen other coaches get it and then have players get it, we would be very very lucky if it’s only him who has it. The only thing is the protocols were Changed and given its Wednesday and there’s some time, it hopefully won’t be as bad as it was for other teams. We can but hope.

I think you’re right. Sirianni was right up in Hurts’ face last night yelling at him. He may very well test positive this week.

That would be interesting if Hurts missed the game with Covid, and Minshew plays well against the Giants after Hurts ish the bed against them.

This might be the dumbest comparison ever.  These throws are nothing alike.

You wonder if some of the players/coaches from Washington passed it on.  The NFL should've called the game off and should pay the players unless there is proof of carelessness.  I'm concerned we will see several Eagles players get it this week and the game is on Sunday.  And, I don't expect the NFL to do us any favors.

This is where I am, I'm not a Hurts hater, but if you have a chance to get a top QB, you go get him.

Trusting Howie to draft 3 good first rounders is a fools errand anyways.

I actually doubt that it is sustainable. But you are clearly biased. Ive been as anti-Hurts as anyone. But Ive called it fair. And after probably the best game of his season, he earned praise for it.

And, theres been plenty of praise for Sirianni in here since last night too. Myself included. But I have always been a supporter. The criticisms have often been idiotic and driven by the stupid philly media.

might have been Carson’s best throw post super bowl. It’s up there.

Interesting breakdown by Simms, he has really come around on Hurts.

I'm not there with Hurts, not sure if I will get there, but Hurts is making believers out of some of his earlier skeptics.

Chris mentioned what I posted in here last night. Upgrading at RB is a sneaky way to improve the offense. A top 10 RB doesn't just fall into your lap though.

I think it would be more interesting if someone like Gannon got it so someone else had to call D plays, and they were just like "f it, this is my chance to shine. Cover 0 all game" and just blitzed the crap out of the other team.

Yeah, that caught my ear as well. I haven't paid much attention the the top of the RB class this year, I know the Michigan State kid had a great year.

Still don’t think it’s as bad as Jordan Matthews saying Buffalo had nothing to do and that’s why he had his kid.

Seems like all the best college RBs are not draft eligible yet

How am I being biased?

I was all for giving Hurts a shot, Ive just seen enough at this point.  And really, hes been given more of a legit chance to succeed here than most non-1st rounders in the NFL.  We're running an offense just for him to succeed.

But heres the reality Im facing:  No player has ever improved as much as we need him to improve to win a SB.

Lamar Jackson cant win a SB.  Hurts definitely cant.  It would be the miracle of miracles for him to string together 3-4 games against solid coaching and defenses.

The Giants bamboozled him by keeping him in the pocket.  The Cowboys shut him down because he was intimidated by their athleticism.   If he repeats last nights performance 3 more times, maybe Ill change my opinion.

But I dont need 30 starts to form an opinion on him.  I've seen his body of work and feel confident in my assessment, barring some drastic improvements.

There are some good RB available. Top of my list is Isaiah Spiller from A&M.
