Early returns are positive.   Of course, that Creed guy that was also available... he's also paying off massively, without the injury history.

That Creed guy also was not a fit IMO.  Very linear player with limited upside.  Dickerson has Brandon Brooks prime upside, Creed was a Jamaal Jackson type.  Solid for a long time but nothing special.

Humphrey is a wide-bodied interior blocker that has a wealth of experience along the interior. With 37 career starts (36 straight), he’s been a three-year starter that’s been a key cog of one of the most explosive offenses in the country. As a left-handed center, he’s one of the few in the country. While being a limited athlete, he has the smarts of knowing how to use his frame, strength, and football IQ to his advantage. Hardly ever asked to exit outside of his parameters in the A-gaps, he’s quick to mark his territory and isn’t one to waste time jostling back and forth with interior defenders. In the right scheme, he has the chance to go on to eventually become a long-term starter in a power-centric offense that keeps his demands in short areas. He graduated with a degree in Finance

Does this sound like a Stoutland type of O-lineman?

Stout requires his blockers to constantly pull and move. Dickerson was a perfect fit for us, would draft again no hesitation.

Should be a Pro Bowler this year.  Different, but certainly not without upside.  The size and athleticism of Dickerson was always intriguing... just not in Round 2 for me.   But... so far, so good.   Let's hope he can sustain it.  Because that pick isn't about this year... its about the next 5-8, preferably 10 (at least to me).

Im pretty sure Humphrey tested as an insane athlete at the combine. But maybe he didnt play that way. Or maybe I misremember that.

System also matters as well.  You put him in this system and I don't think he flourishes.

next week the offense has a inside the 5 yard line play called down under , direct snap to mailata with all linemen and TE's

True.  But other playoff teams also beat other playoff teams.  This team hasn't, not even once.  We'll see if they can by the end of the season.

We also lost 4 of the 5 games we played against playoff teams early in the year. New coaching staff. Young QB. In those 4 games we barely ran the ball. It’s our strength. Those games were actually learning lessons and have turned into positives and experience in my eyes. Again just enjoy it man. Be positive until the negative hits you. Not negative till the positive hits you.

yeah but, yeah but, yeah but, yeah but. What a mindset.

@justrelax I believe had some comments on him and the 'hype'.  I'll defer to him.  Also @BigEFly I'm sure has some words as well.  Testing vs tape/play are completely separate things!

Another reason why Dickerson was the the right pick was position versatility, Dickerson had that.

Humphrey would be riding the pine behind Kelce this year.

Today Joe Burrow threw for the 4th most yards in a game in NFL history with 525. Without looking it up, anyone want to guess who the 3 QBs who threw more than him were?

Well, I'll yield to Stout... I figure he's smart enough to figure out how to use a guy like Humphrey to his strengths and not ask him to play to his weaknesses.

Norm is #1, I know that for sure. Moon is tied with some scrub QB for 2nd IIRC.

Schaub.

Big Ben has the most times throwing for 500+ yards in a game in history. He's done it 3 times. Brees has done it twice.

I know.

You just gave us 3, maybe 4 'yeah buts' to excuse the Eagles losses to the only good teams this team has played.  Of course, what we've learned during this season is... this team struggles every time they have to rely on Hurts to throw.

Yes please!

Mailata’s biceps are bigger than a normal man’s thighs

The Eagles have never allowed 500 yards passing in a game in their history.

Thanks for noticing.

Hurts keeps on proving he should be the guy going forward.

Hmmm, I'd say Dan Marino, Brett Favre and a curveball...Vinny Testaverde

Is it?

Games against teams in playoff position: 0-5.
Games against teams not in playoff position: 8-2.

Those games we went 0-5 were SF, Dallas, KC, TB and LAC.

SF and LAC were close games.  All these games except the Chargers were very early in the year when the Eagles were pass happy and basically a joke of a team.

All I'm saying is they aren't the same as they were when they lost to those playoff caliber teams.
