Rodgers is on another level right now...and he just had COVID, so that shouldn't hit him again that soon.

yep. Weve done that before. When they were legitimately trying to hire actors to go appear as fans for the background of the pre-game show.

I’d drive to La for that game if it wasn’t a Covid disaster right now. Have a couple friends living in LA who wanted me to come out for the ucla/Arizona basketball game but said not too cause of everything. The entire ucla athletics and campus is apparently stricken with Covid.

Admittedly I haven’t watched any of his games, just basing this off what I’ve read from draft pundits. I just liked the story of him and background of what I’ve read. I work on saturdays so haven’t been able to watch CFB really, once draft season kicks in I’ll start watching his games in my free time.

I highly suggest taking a look into him.  Seems like an awesome kid, but the NFL and high level success more than likely isn't in the cards for him IMO.  Obviously that's my personal opinion, and I generally defer to the 'experts' for OL but his flaws are glaring to my eyes when I've seen him.

They don't have to test for 90 days after a positive. So he's good for the season.

Seriously?

Like nearly everything in life, truth is in the middle.

Hurts isn’t a terrible QB. he isn’t a good enough passer and he certainly isn’t consistent. That should be easy for everyone to agree on. In total, he is an average QB if you combine everything he does. He absolutely has improved. But he has a ton more to go to become a competent QB for us to win against decent teams. The question is, what do you believe is his ceiling and can it be high enough to give us a real shot at the SB?

I value passing over rushing in my QB and I don’t believe he can ever get good enough as a passer to get us there. But at this point, that opinion is just as valid as someone believing the opposite.

howie isn’t trash. He did get us a SB with some really great moves. but whether it is his decisions or his lack of leadership around the draft, the simple fact is that’s a huge blind spot and it is killing this team. Maybe this last draft is a reversal but our drafting is what set us back from being a contender.

the middle doesn’t seem all that glamorous and it doesn’t get 50 likes or 50 comments, but this is where the truth really does live.

That's what I heard on sports radio on the way to work the other day anyway.

I would be on board if Kelce hangs them up. I'm assuming Brooks is gone regardless. If Kelce gives one more year I'm not crazy about  a day 1 o-lineman. Day 2 I would be "fine" with if they did...

Even if Kelce hangs it up I would be up for it to keep the OL young & talented. I’m thinking long term here. Seumalo only has 1 year left on his contract or set to be a FA in couple months, can’t remember which it is. Kelce is set to retire any time. Brooks isn’t reliable anymore and is over 30. Lane is over 30, how much longer does he have? Dillard isn’t starter & likely traded in March. That leaves only Dickerson & Mailata long term, and given Dickerson injury history that really just leaves Mailata as someone to rely on. Not to mention in 2023 we might be back to looking for a QB.

you just know Tom Brady is going to have someone in his posse send players of other playoff teams "empty" bottles that contain covid breath. When the player opens the package, and the bottle... game over.

Of course Goodell will deny any such packages ever existed. The bottles will all be destroyed. And Aaron Rodgers will say COVID isnt even real. So Brady will get away with it, and win a super bowl.

I definitely appreciate your input/opinion on him, first I’ve seen something negative on him really so I’ll definitely keep it in mind when I watch his tape.

Snatch wranglers.

I actually think these playoffs are gonna be dictated by matchups particularly the afc. Not that doesn’t happen usually. but there’s times where teams are so good it doesn’t matter who they play. I think the AFC is going to directly come down to who you’re matching up with.

frankly the afc is going to be wild. I’d probably bet the chiefs but i could also see a team like the chargers or bengals knocking them out cause they have the firepower to matchup.

Why not Hurts and Siri?

You know what sucks? Making the playoffs and not being able to buy a t-shirt. We need 7th seed shirts. Division champs shouldnt have all the fun.

Playoffs are going to be really fun this year. No easy pick to win it all

Get out of here with your calmness and logic lol that was actually a good post.

After the media ridicule, Siri might be the only Rookie HC in the playoffs.

Doug was considered the worst hire of his cycle as well.

Lurie can identify good Head Coaches, give him that much.

F Chip Kelly.

why cant they send the bottles you mean?

Because you need to entice players to open an empty looking bottle. And Im not sure those two have that card up their sleeve. I left a key detail out. Brady gets everyone to inhale the contents of those bottles because they will be labeled. "Giselle's farts"

Barring a crazy 4th QTR comeback.   That's all she wrote.   CLINCHED!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eagles vs Patriots Thread (Possible Devonta Debut)

I just wish Gannon's defense didn't make a one-sided playoff out a foregone conclusion. I could talk myself into a run game dominated miracle run if I didn't know for sure the opposing QB was gonna go 35/40 for 350 yards and 3 TDs.

we need 2nd half defense for the whole game.

Haven't really seen it discussed yet but even though Hurts was sacked only once today, the line wasn't that great.  Mailata looked to have one of his worst games of the year.  I think I even saw him get completely pancaked.

One guy I always liked and hated that the Redskins have is Matt Ioannidis.  Loved him at Temple.  He's not dominant but he's just one of those annoying guys who always seems to cause havoc.

I mentioned it, and the fact they couldn't run the ball except for Hurts, 27 for 74 otherwise. Lane had two false starts and was beat on a 4th down run that killed that play. Mailata was getting beat off the edge. They got no push inside, the successful runs were off-tackle.  Hurts actually did a fine job of sensing pressure, moving and getting rid of the ball, he got it to Goedert on a play that might have been a TD if he had an 1/2 second to throw, the ball to Reagor that he should have caught (tough catch, but that's why you start). Think Ward should start over Reagor as the 3rd WR.

Hurts was 21 for 27, and two incompletions should have been called PI. Smith was grabbed twice, throwing him off his route and causing those incompletions.

The Eagles clinch a playoff birth with still 1 game to go when 90% of this board had them at 5-6 wins this year.  I'm not going to go back and read the last 5 pages because I know the posters in this blog are wise enough not to complain about the team, Hurts, etc. when the team just destroyed 90% of the fanbase's expectations for the year.

BOOM!
