That's been my idea for a while now.  I just don't see us drafting all 3 firsts.  I don't see us paying all 3 of those guys, if successful, 3-4 years down the road.  I don't see the teams future QB in this draft.  And I don't see the Eagles thinking Hurts is it.

A couple years ago I heard someone (Gil Brandt, maybe Joe Banner) talk about the  future economic problem with having too many high picks in the same draft.

He has his obvious faults, but no one can deny Howie works the theory of the draft really well. I like how the Eagles always look long term and don’t use the philosophy "a #2 this year is worth a #1 next year.” Many teams believe it, but it makes no damn sense.

We’re definitely on the same page thinking there isn’t much of a chance the Eagles make 3 first round selections in 2022.

The QB question is very interesting. I gave up on Hurts after the first NYG game, but now I’m back on the fence. I want to see what he does on the big stage this week against an opponent he’s seen once this year.

Unlike some, I am convinced a QB-needy team would gladly give up a #1 (or very high 2nd plus a little more) for Hurts. He’d make a lot of sense somewhere like Detroit where you have to believe the coach wants toughness and a strong ground game.

I don't see it either, but I also don't see them managing to flip one of their picks for a 2023 1st.

Wait.  Jags (Wentz) = Brady (Bucs)  didn't you know?

I mean....

This hasn’t really occurred to me

We lost to the Giants like a month ago

Don't put this into the universe.

I'd rather lose to the Bucs, then lose to Dallas in the NFCCG.

People with lingering effects of a concussion will also have visits with neurologists and do forms cognitive exercises for post-concussion syndrome.

I think if he had lingering effects we would have heard about it.

Well, that is true to a certain level.  80% recover from a concussion in 7-10 days. With a TBI, people tend to plateau at around 6 months.  Basically after a year, you are where you will be after recovering from a TBI.  So, in other words, Wentz would have plateaued and further treatment been unnecessary.

That said, the myth of Super Bowl”winning” QB about Wentz from 2017 is dead.  Certainly, Wentz’s performance early in 2017 (as well as the performance of the rest of the team) contributed to home field advantage and a playoff berth. I am not denying that. But he showed at the end of this season that he can falter, even against the worst teams so the wins after he went down in 2017 are strictly those of the players playing those games.

@RememberTheKoy seeing as you won't make a suspension bet, how about an avatar bet.  Loser has to use the avatar of the winners choice for a month.

Get your real fan on, bet me that the Eagles will beat the Bucs.

I don't feel like giving you any more reason for you to pathetically root against the Eagles Sunday.

I don't think it'd really matter

Once again, not rooting against them, I will be over the moon stoked if they win.  I am also a realist, and see us getting wrecked.

You keep talking about real fans, but are to scared to put your money avatar where your mouth is.

I have no interest in doing any bets with you.  You're pathetic.

Thank god we got a 1st back for Bradford because having to add a 2nd with Foles for him was horrendous value.

I think there's probably a range in the draft where the value in the late first is similar to the second round.  I think a trade up for a QB is a possibility.  I think some team might want to trade up for a receiver.  I don't think Carolina is going to want to trade up for a QB.  If they think a QB is worth pick 15 or 16 then why not take him at pick 6.   I could see NO trading up for a QB.  They are at 18 and they might give up a future 2nd to move up 3 spots.

Or DE - I'm not familiar with Williams, but I think we need to pick up a near-term starter and quality depth.
