Pretty clear he is the best defensive player of his generation.

Now we'll just have everyone jumping routes instead of trying to cover well in hopes they can make all pro.

This team has struggled with pigeon-holing DBs. Poyer was a corner here IIRC, Rowe has been a solid safety after playing corner here, and Chandon Sullivan plays a hybrid role for Green Bay.

I don’t count Rasul Douglas because he straight up didn’t fit what we wanted to run.

Yeah he was listed as a CB but if I remember correctly in ore season he played safety, he was cut in final cuts, safeties were always late Nate Allen and Patrick chung. Colt Anderson was the main back up special teamer and prater and I believe Curtis marsh bounced between safety and corner as well

I think they hoped to stash poyer on the PS but he got kicked up by Cleveland

The next year chung was gone and Nate Allen gone the next and chip drafted Rowe and brought in Thurmond who retired after 1 year and Howie traded for Malcolm.

Seems they could have used poyer but hey It is what it is, good for him being all pro.

Guess it worked out seeing as eagles won super bowl so 🤷‍♂️

So take away those INTs (which I know you can't do but also I'm not sure Diggs is going to be able to sustain that level) and Slay has been better.

I don’t think he’s a first-ballot hall of famer, but he’s getting in.

I think the only reason he might be be first-ballot is because of the position he plays and who else might be on the list when he's eligible.  He should be in though.

I mean, in this day and age of the NFL, CB's giving up yards isn't really a big deal, IMO.

And his INT's should carry way more weight than yards given up. The TD's allowed is a big knock, but INTs are absolutely the most important CB stat. It's like sacks with defensive ends. And in Diggs case, 11 INTs with 2 pick sixes is pretty f'n good.

Once again, 100% false.  I never want them to lose, I am a realist, and do very well picking games and winning money / prizes because of it.  I went 12-5 picking Eagles games this year, and two of those losses are Dallas, who I will never pick even if there is absolutely no doubt they will win.

What is pathetic is you not wanting to back up your talk.

Just put me on ignore.  If I never received another mention or quote from you it's be beautiful.

The legend of BDN continues on.  Jim Rome is talking about Bart Scott telling the Bills to take viagra before the game, and the clones keep making BDN jokes.

How in the hell did Diggs get 33 votes. This isn't the pro bowl where it's by popularity

Uhhh...11 Ints which led the NFL will sway voters for some reason.🤔

No, no, no.  Diggs is basically Marcus Peters at this point.  It took the NFL a couple of years to get a book on Peters, and it doesn't look like it'll take as long with Diggs

Most CB with a lot of INT get picked on a lot; they have better ball skills than coverage skills.  The best CBs don't get thrown at.  Diggs will never have an island like Revis Island.

Ignore is for cowards who get owned on the regular.

Slay surprisingly not surprisingly only got 1 vote, I thought he'd at least be  second team but voters really put a premium on Ints.

And slay only had what 3?

Comparing Slay and Diggs using Pro-Football-Reference stats, shows the following:

Targeted - Diggs 103, Slay 85

Completions against - Diggs 54, Slay 50

Yards - Diggs 907, Slay 535 (Avg of 16.8 to 10.7 per completion, respectively)

TDs allowed - Diggs 4?, Slay 3

QB rating allowed - Diggs 55.8, Slay 74.4

So I'm not sure where Mike Kaye is getting his numbers from?

It’s gonna be great when those INTs dry up. He’s another Marcus Peters.

Man, without those RBs Brady might have to throw 60 times on Sunday .... and go 50-for-60 for 480 yards

Pretty sure Fournette leads their team in targets

Brady has always been big on passes to RBs.  You can brt your arse youre going to see a fair number of them Sunday

Also this:

"Diggs has also been a poor run defender for a player of his size and physicality, managing a PFF run-defense grade of 30.4, 127th out of 130 qualifying cornerbacks. "

So basically all that proves is that it makes sense to pick on his side of the field. If he doesn't get an INT then you're moving down the field more easily.

Sure, and as well as @Alphagrand post goes, yeah, they probably will dry up. But there shouldn't be any outcry about him getting All Pro this season. He absolutely deserves it.

I'd much rather have a CB that gets 11 INTs and is the worst run defender in the league, than the opposite.

Does anyone know of a player who retired after being named first team all pro?

Disagree. There comes to a point where both mean less because while they are making flashy plays, they are major liabilities elsewhere. Jason Babin is third all time for Eagles sacks in a season and the only thing memorable about it was how they meant almost nothing.

Or for people who wish to keep the conversation above a 6th grade level, so they mute those who act like they are 13.

Jerry Rice? Nope...

Jim Brown, probably.

Yup, on the flip side one has a guy like brandon graham who doesn't put up huge sack numbers but impacts the game every play.

Ill take the latter every day and twice on Sunday.
