The throw to Ward in the end zone was just brutal. Wide open and he throws a fastball high and outside. You can't put that on Ward -- Hurts needs to hit that 10/10 times.

YES!

Don't give me this WR needs to help out his QB BS.  It's not on the WR if the WR is wide open and the QB makes the catch more difficult than it needs to be.  If it's a contested play, then sure, the WR needs to step up.  But in this situation, he shouldn't criticized for a moment.

Saw the same last year with Wentz and Sanders.  No reason to make Miles work so hard to catch an angle route.

The illegal men downfield penalties are because Hurts is slow making the decision.

Or misreading pre-snap and not seeing what he expected once the play starts.

Those QB"s are making presnap reads and adjusting to the defense. Hurts isn't capable of that right now. He's throwing to his first read regardless of the coverage and situation.

I agree.

Super Bowl MVP Foles?

I'll take that.

Inconsistent Foles

PFF didn't like Hurts yesterday, they said he was .1 grade better than against Dallas.

I give up on them and QB's. Make's no damn sense.

Week 1: dawkballhawk: 31-10

Week 2: Bwestbrook36: 13-17

Week 3: Casey @ Bat: 21-38

Week 4: Iggles25: 24-45

I've been announcing them post game but will probably do the morning after going forward. Gets lost in the X player sucks, fire X posts.

Thanks

A) Not true.  He made some check downs.

B) Well then we should praise Sirianni for getting his first read open on a continual basis yesterday.

Which one?  The Smith throw?

Illegal man down field penalty. Speaking of Smith we may have hit on that one

I believe those penalties come almost entirely on RPOs, not screens. RPOs require a post-snap read.

If I am charitable, it's something that he can improve on with more experience.

What the hell happened with Lane Johnson?

Does anyone know??

Nothing has broken yet.

Face the Music.

You've got a team that can't tackle and week after week you've got people coming in here yelling about the Quarterback.

Now if you're tanking, fine. No sweat. Why didn't you deal BG, Lane, Brooks ... all of them ?

You literally just named three players who are injured and have no value whatsoever at the moment.

Aint nobody got time for that😉

So I think the first read varies for a number of plays.  I mean RPO's are a good example.  Hurts making the correct decision on the option and read are on him.  He improved on that aspect of his game.  He did make some better check down throws.  He also made  some poor choices about what his first read should be.  He often was late just making the initial decision on some of the RPOs that resulted in penalties.

Not to mention that they also came with a massive cap hit if they were traded out.

They had him rated as the leagues second worst starting QB coming into the season.

I mean when have they been consistent ?

So let me get this straight.

What you want to do is tank.

Pay all your friends.

LOSE

And then make all the draft picks.

Good luck with that plan.

This is the first post from you I have understood.  I am starting to think I am on here too much.

It's a shame that Mailata is hurt, yesterday would have been a great test to see if he could play RT with Dillard at LT.  Not that having a LT commit 4 penalties gives us much to look forward to.  Yes, I know Hurts/RPO.

That's crazy.

By the numbers, Hurts has been a...average QB this year. Given the 4 game sample, sounds right.

He might get the chance next week.  We don't know what the Johnson situation is, or how long it will take.   And we heard from Spadaro, that Driscoll was going to play RG, rather than Herbig (good decision, IMO), so that keeps RT an option for Mailata if he's good to go, but Johnson isn't.

I don’t think most people think there’s a chance the Eagles can win this division anyway, but in case anyone still has hope, look at the Eagles next 4 games and then look at Dallas’ and the Eagles will likely be 5 games back by early November.

This season is going to be a bummer. As awful as last season was at least there was some drama headed into the late season with how bad the division was. Not going to have that this season most likely, barring injury to key Cowboys players.

Allows us to be sellers! No more false hope like last year.

While Barnett has made a lot of bone head plays, I'm not sure this was one of them, he seemed to have been blocked into the QB.

Gannon doesn't have much to work with, and I think at some point he's just going to play kids over some mediocre veterans. His soft defense reflects that his two best players are DTs (and DE before Graham got hurt), his safeties lack speed and his CBs are decent, but not good enough to be left on an island against top WRs. And Taylor is probably the only LB with the athleticism for matchups. Wilson is a disappointment, we knew he was a liability against the run, but he was supposed to be good in coverage.

But this is what rebuilding is all about, losing Graham early hurts, b/c you hope to work in guys like Williams, Jackson, etc. over the season.

Kerrigan may be cooked, but I also think he's just not a 3 point DE, you'd be better using him as a stand up pass rusher.

However, after 4 games, Eagles are 19th in rushing YPA, though 31 in rushing yards allowed. 14th in net yards per pass. 28th in 1st downs allowed. 10th in yards allowed per play.

So the defense is working in that they're forcing teams into long drives, they just not stopping those drives - and that's where the lack of playmakers in the back seven is glaring, 2 turnovers in 4 games won't get the job done.

And who's fault is that?

Sadly, we can't afford to sell anyone but Ertz.

How much do we need to pay a team to get Barnett off our hands?  A fifth in 2023?
