Im apparently higher on Reagor than like 99% of Eagles fans.  The light is starting to come on with this kid, give him a chance

I'm not sure the light came on, so much as they are finding ways to get the ball in his hands without asking him to actually run a route.

Well, we have the WRs, we have most of the OL, now you add defense.

That's why it's called "rebuilding."

If we had enough talent, we'd be "contenders."

This didn't happen overnight. What we've seen last season and what we will continue to see this season is a build-up of over the past five plus years of terrible drafting and signings. The most impactful players that Roseman have drafted on the defensive side of the ball in the past five seasons are Jalen Mills and Josh Sweat. One floated between average and below average and isn't with the team anymore and the other sees limited snaps. They've also neglected the linebacker position for years.

Everyone can continue to get excited about having potentially 3+ picks in the top 15 this year, but the guy in charge doesn't give me reason to get excited about that.

A good part of it is organizational philosophy as well -- whether that's all Howie or even higher up.

Last 1st round CB drafted -- 2002 Lito Sheppard

Last 1st round S drafted -- 1980 Roynell Young

Last 1st round LB drafted -- 1979 Jerry Robinson

The Eagles use their premium draft picks on QB, WR, DL, OL ... been that way a long time, even before Howie (and Lurie)

I agree.  Id love to use all 3 firsts on defense.

Don't mind if one is an OL but really would prefer all on D.

We always like to say, "Andy Reid didn’t value linebackers. However, it’s nothing like what we have today.

Off the top of my head he spent a second-rounder on Quinton Caver, Barry Gardner, and Stewart Bradley. Trotter was a third-rounder. Carlos Emmons and Shawn Barber had great years. He also traded for Mark Simoneau and gave him a five-year contract.

Of course, not all of these guys worked out. That’s not the point. The point is that resources were spent. What we’ve seen the last few years is a whole ‘nother level.

Even the weird, really laid back dude from the Giants who didn’t miss a game in like 3 years was way better than what they have now, WTF is his name?   Ugh!

More snaps then Kenneth, Ward, Quez, Ertz and had less catches and yards then all of them

Sounds like a Reagor problem

Not necessarily. Hurts did a ton of checkdowns and short throws. WHat were Reagors patterns, I'll bet most were him running longer routes.

Poor Milton Williams

Maybe if they played him at DT next to Hargrave rather than DE.

Well in today's world, the hardest part of this would be changing phone number, and the easiest is changing your gender....

AND he almost was the one that made the tackle 20 yards downfield.  THAT is why his tackle numbers don't matter.  He might get over 100 tackles but so many are after serious yardage.

Eagles Flirted with 500 yards of offense yesterday and Reagor had 1 catch for 9 yards while seeing 70% of the snaps.

If you think about it a regular, d2 or d3 college WR could get 1 catch for 9 yards in yesterdays game

Well he was only targeted once, so

And theres not a chance some dude can just walk onto the field and contribute.  See: JJAW, Hightower, literally every other WR weve drafted

IMO, hes finally got the speed of the game down.  Hes not dropping easy passes.  He's just having to learn a new offense now and theyre figuring it out.   Clearly, hes got some burst to go with being pretty strong for his size, and we don't have a ton of that

Good news is at least there are over 30 genders now and you can switch whenever you want depending how you feel that day so that part is safe!

Yeah, Singleton is the king of making the tackle 10 yards further down the field than he should have.

And you know his grandkids are hearing that and looking at each other like, "wait did you see grandpa last night??"

JJAw had 10 snaps. If he had 40 more snaps I'd be dimes to dollars he'd end up with 1 catch and 10 yards or so.

He's not dropping passes cause he's not getting open/target lol.

I cant believe we live in a world where we're defending a guy who averages 2 catches for 14 yards a game.

O wait, Chad Lewis was a hall of famer according to some here

You sure?

Im not saying hes a HoF, Im saying hes worthy of playing on our team and hes not garbage.   You need role players, its OK if all of our 22 starters arent Pro Bowlers.

It's because they get 7 yards to a clip running. Why pass?

So I was curious about Smith's TD that was called back for him stepping out of bounds. I've seen a few spots where it says it should have been a penalty on the defender, or the catch allowed to stand. I had to go to the NFL rule book:

Ineligible Receivers. All offensive players other than those identified in Article 5 above are ineligible to catch a legal or illegal forward pass thrown from behind the line of scrimmage, including:

(d) An eligible receiver who has been out of bounds prior to or during a pass, even if he has reestablished himself inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands.

Exception: If an eligible receiver is forced out of bounds by a foul by a defender, including illegal contact, defensive holding, or defensive pass interference, he will become eligible to legally touch the pass (without prior touching by another eligible receiver or defender) as soon as he re-establishes himself inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands. See Article 8, Note 3.

So based on the rule book as I see it, we needed the refs to basically call a penalty on the defender for Smith to be "allowed" to re-establish himself. If there's no penalty on the defender, then no matter what, Smith can't be the first player to touch the ball. Am I interpreting that correctly?

Wait, he has to re-establish with his hands?

  The only reason I would enjoy a Panthers win is because they were playing Dallas.

You are the only turd in here that was quoted at saying you owned and wore a Steeler jersey.  Bragged that someone in your family has Steeler season tickets.  Offered to do a soup kitchen with anyone who would show, at a rest stop on the turnpike.  Listed like 6 teams that you liked.  And came in here this morning celebrating a Chiefs win.  Difference between most of us and you, is although we knew the Eagles would probably lose yesterday.  We didn't take joy in them losing.

Bingo.

Stupid thinks teams celebrate losing because of draft picks.

They did trade two first round picks and a second for Bill Bergey.

Let's take a look at Hurts and Wentz through 4 games:

Hurts: 66.2%, 1,167 yards, 7 TD passes, 2 INT, 8.0 YPA, 101.1 QB rating, 226 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD.

Wentz: 63.8%, 920 yards, 5 TD passes, 1 INT, 6.7 YPA, 92.1 QB rating, 68 rushing yards and 0 rushing TDs.
