Goedert will be back.  Makes 0 sense for a young rebuilding team to let a young good player go.

I agree with all the complaints, but the interesting thing is that a 2-3 record is probably better than anyone had projected for them at this point in the season.  They never were going to beat SF/DAL/KC...and they are 2-0 against bad, beatable teams.

I think Goedert will be back

With Bradys thumb, David being out, and their inability to run the ball I think we are set for an upset at home

I've been patient with Reagor. He was extremely raw coming into the NFL; all he had to do at TCU was run fast and jump high. I thought he had enough unteachable qualities to make him a worthy long-term investment.

I'm starting to grow impatient, and I think it's because of Quez Watkins, who has basically all the excuses Reagor has and yet he still produces. Quez is so much better that it's laughable he's not the clear #2.

Agreed 100%.  It infuriates me when they run 12-personnel and Quez is the one that's not on the field.

Quez >>>>> Reagor.

It's not just Reagor's play that has disappointed, but his attitude as well.  The stupid things he was posting on twitter and his taking plays off on the field (as shown by a clip yesterday) are not good signs.  I was surprised to see Quez got as many snaps as he did vs CAR as it didn't seem like it.  It keeps being said how Smith is open nearly every pass play and Hurts misses him a lot, so I have to wonder how often Quez is open and how often Hurts is missing him as well.  Right now he is playing like our WR2 and would probably have even better stats if we didn't telegraph the opposing D when we're running a bubble screen.  He's our down the field big  play WR at the moment.

yep thats the one. All the idiots saying he didnt show up till this week....

I've been one of those idiots, was Kyle Pitts first game ever and shutting ridley while nice isn't a herculean feat, cooper was also hurt that game and the cowboys out up 40 so who cares, Tyreek hill went off but slay covered Kelce alot and Kelce was quiet and again the d gave up 40. Keep in mind also that slay has mostly been playing so e with deep safety help, he's not following dudes around.

Before yesterday though he was playing we he wasn't making any plays, he had 1 pbu against Atlanta and that was it, yesterday he made two big plays, the o couldn't capitalize but that's a different story.

Hopefully whatever Gannon was doing with slay yesterday continues and slay keeps making plays.

Nick Screeniani's Honkey Tonk Horizontal Offense.  "I've never met a screen I didn't like, especially if the other team knows it's coming."

Here is where I am so conflicted after a game like yesterday...

I want one of two things: either for the Eagles to be an elite SB contender or for them to have the young, talent pieces in place to project as developing into an elite SB contender.  If we are neither of those things (and we aren't), then I have a hard time getting swept up in individual games and enjoying isolated wins in lost seasons.

In 1999 and 2016, those were flawed teams that were not going to compete, but you could see pieces coalescing into place.  Then, it was easier to get excited about a win in a lost season.  Now, from the owner, to the GM, to the HC, to the franchise QB (if you want to call him that)...I'm not sure we have ANYTHING in place.  Makes it a lot harder to "just enjoy" a win.

I don't think that makes me a bad fan.

He'll be 27 by the time next season rolls around.

He'll want to be paid.

You're applying "Sense" to this front office and direction of this team?

Which means they'll probably dumb a brinx truck on him.  Because it would be a dumb idea.

I don't see Howie letting both walk. He'll extend Goedert and let Ertz walk. Still time for Howie to extend him before the offseason.

Have to say this line of reasoning does make some sense.  Goedert has never 'turned the corner' and exploded like some of us thought he might one day.  We are cap strapped for the near future and if he wants (near) Kittle money we have other areas that are in more dire need of upgrades, like most of the D positions.  And he would fetch a better haul in a trade than Ertz.  A real shame Jackson got hurt as he was looking pretty good in TC/PS.  So we'd have to roll with Ertz and Stoll for the rest of this season (Dick Rod is still a FA, too) and hope Jackson heals up fine and can be at least serviceable next season (while growing into the role) and maybe add another to the stable with a later round pick in the next draft.  And honestly, we're not using the TEs much since we're not throwing to the middle of the field for now, so in this case the reward looks to outweigh the risk.

Jackson is slated to come back before November.  We should be able to see how he looks for at least a week before the trade deadline.

You can always bring Dick Rod in if needed like you say.  For the amount of targets the tight ends are getting, he is more than capable of holding it down if need be.

There's a chance Goedert doesn't want to be here anymore. 4 years and he's always played second fiddle. Expected his extension to be done before the season but talks broke off because "Eagles wanted to go in a different direction." I wouldn't be surprised if his goal is to go to FA and take the biggest offer he can get at this point.

Smart would be to go somewhere where he can be the starter. Eagles want to stick with the old guy

13 minutes ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

You keep talking about how he is "creating a ton of open guys" after the game yesterday, I don't know how anyone with any sense can say that.  But then again......

He was hired to by two bean counting nerds who were swoon by the fact that he is a "rah rah" cool guy.  Just for them to think that he is HC material should tell anyone they need to know about how far off the reservation they are.  They main reason he was hired, is because he said "yes".  He seems like a great guy.  But he's completely lost as a HC.  Even "IF" he was "scheming guys open" as much as you say he is, that is still not reason enough to believe he's a decent or good Head Coach.

Offensively, this team is a joke.

- Little downfield passing game

- No intermediate passing game

- Went a few weeks without putting a WR in motion and only did so after being called out on it

- Screen Screen Screen Screen Screen

- Refuses to run the ball

- WR (his position of expertise) making the same mistakes over and over again.  Pick plays and running OOB.

Nick Sirranni is the last offensive-minded Head Coach who should be praised on how he is coaching any portion of the offense.

What 1 thing is this offense good at, consistently?  Better yet, what one thing is this team good at consistently?

Have you ever seen an offense attack the sidelines behind the LOS before?   Probably not, but the Eagles are good at it, lol.
