I'd love to know where gas was 1.86 in 2020. Should have been filling up there.

When everything shut down and the COVID recession hit, I distinctly remember it being $1.79 at the Sam's Club by me. The national average was about a $1.00 more the summer before, at $2.76.

Flash back to summer of '08, it was close to $4.00/gallon when I was in Philly. By the following winter I distinctly remember it being $1.53 at the local gas station.

That's the power of a recession. If people are want to trade a recession for $2/gallon gas, just say it.

Oh, so the selling point is that things were much better at the beginning of the pandemic when nobody drove and millions of people were collecting extended unemployment benefits because they made more to stay at home and not work? Oh, and the ICUs were flooded with dying COVID patients?

Got it

Yes. If you want cheap gas, everybody has to stop driving and stay home. Demand plummets, so the price goes down; Econ 101.

Alright. So you think King Biden runs the world economy?  I don't... To me, it sounds like the oil companies are speculating. Regulate them!  :P

OPEC and allies' oil production cut is Trump's 'biggest and most complex' deal ever: Dan Yergin

Correct. Production was cut in 2020 to avoid disaster, because so much of the oil supply was going unused at that time. Important to note when this was made in April 2020.

Quote

"This agreement goes two years, so it’s also meant to manage the inventories downward over that period of time,” Yergin said. "What this has done is averted what really would have been a disaster for the oil industry and I think it does give some stabilization.”

No the selling point is the gasoline price hike we've seen since Biden took office is without precedent in the nation's history.

Next minority that gets killed is on him.
