December 21, 20214 yr Author As outlined in yesterday's post, with the Raiders and Vikings both winning last night, that pushed the pick from Miami up to 12 (from 14). No change to the other 2 picks. Both of tonight's games have the potential to impact draft position. WFT vs Eagles (if we lose to Washington, there will be no change ... our own pick will remain at 10. If we win, it'll push our pick down to 12 and in turn the pick from Miami up to 11) Seahawks vs Rams (if the Seahawks win and we lose, that pushes them down to 10 and our own pick up to 9)

In October these picks all seemed like top ten to top five picks. Now they’re all likely to be in the teens or maybe the twenties.

December 22, 20214 yr Author As expected, our win pushed our pick down to 12 and in turn the Miami pick up to 11 (from 13). Post #1 updated. We are now the 8th seed in the NFC with regard to playoff seeding.
December 22, 20214 yr With their last three games being at the Saints, at the Titans, and home vs the Patriots, the Dolphins could easily close out the season 0-3 and that pick could find its way back into the top 10.

Since I want the eagles to address all 3 levels of the defense with the 1st rd picks, I don't care if they are mid-late in the round.

Well we are seeded ahead of NO currently and also hold the head-to-head tie breaker with them as well. It is Minnesota that we need to clear way for a playoff spot. They have 2 tough games in their remaining 3 (home against Rams, at GB ... final game is home against the Bears). If they lose 2 of 3 that gives us some cushion in case we drop 1 of 3.

That's true about Minnesota, but the Saints losing to Miami would be helpful too if you're looking for the Eagles to make the playoffs without having to beat the Cowboys in the finale. I believe the Eagles can clinch a spot after Week 17 by winning their next two if the Vikings lose to both the Rams and Packers while the Saints lose once. So the Dolphins winning on Monday night would clear that alley. But if the Eagles lose to the Giants or the Vikings beat the Rams, well, the path to the playoffs for the Eagles would probably require winning all three games, including the finale against the Cowboys. In that case we don't really give a damn what the Saints do.

I am walking that tight line between wanting to get into the playoffs and maximizing our odds of boosting our other picks higher. lol

So just root against all of em suckers.

I've been walking it for quite awhile now too. It kinda meant more to me, however, when the Dolphins pick looked to be between around five and eight. Now that it's looking like it could be between around twelve and sixteen, I'm not sure it matters nearly as much.
December 23, 20214 yr Sounds like Ian Book will be making his debut as QB for the Saints this week against the Dolphins

But if we could do Hamilton, Stingley/Booth/Elam and Hutchinson that's a huge win. I understand Hamilton isn't realistic either due to position, but I think he's a generational talent at the S spot. If we are picking??? Let's stay 11th and Hamilton is there at 11..I say let's take him.

A 1-2 finish might even get it to 9 or 10.

So yeah, can most likely assume that is correct.
December 26, 20214 yr That colts pick keeps dropping. Safe to say it will now definitely be somewhere in the 20s depending on how they go in the playoffs

But I think most of us knew that for both teams, their earlier records weren't reflective of the teams they really are (Arizona wasn't the NFL's best and Indy wasn't one of the worst). Regarding the Colts, they have such a cupcake schedule to close out the season (home against Raiders, at Jags) ... hard to think they'll lose either of those 2. The win moved their pick down to 25.

Really pulling for the Saints, then Titans and Pats. That dolphins pick will end up being our highest wherever that lands

All I’m now hoping for is the Dolphins pick to be as high as possible. Just hope they lose and teams around them win the rest of the way
December 27, 20214 yr It’s crazy that potentially every first round pick the Eagles have right now could belong to a playoff team. The Dolphins have even fought themselves back into contention.
