Today was definitely concerning for his reading department. A lot of balls into double coverages. Way too many, but I will state these receivers other than Smith do not give me a lot of confidence.

It wasn't double coverage. It was the secondary getting a jump on everything from reading his eyes. That can be fixed with a good coach.

  • This season has been funny reading the hot takes.  They beat Atlanta: they're legit! Lose a few, play bad: season's over, they stink. Cut/fire everyone!  Win a few, play better: playoff

I don't think he can read defenses. The problem is he relies on the run and on the RPO. He can't go beyond his first read so he needs those quick releases. Or he needs a play to break down so he can hopefully find an open guy. His receivers aren't great but he doesn't help them.

Frankly bud other than Smith I don’t think any of these receivers help him either.

It was a terrible pick when they made it that has gotten worse over time. Up there with John Harris and Marcus Smith.

Worse, because could have had the next Randy Moss instead.

His arm is probably avg... mechanics seem to break down impacting accuracy. He has to develop looking off DBs or he has no shot because he doesn't have the elute arm strength to compensate.

Yeah I agree. His arm isn't good, his mechanics aren't good and he doesn't make good reads. All of that leads to major issues when the run game isn't clicking.

I mean what are the options? Draft a QB but to do so they'll have to give up other picks. And I think every QB comes with a real red flag. Or trade for a QB but I don't like any of those options.

For the sake of the Eagles, hope that Hurts develops......but I'm with you, long way to go before I am convinced he can be the guy long-term, and its looking likely that it won't happen

Then play to his strength and get the damn wins. This experiment with developing him as a passer has been pretty lousy.

The one play he flat out stared down Reagor so the defender moved to him, but the most inexcusable throw to me was the red zone turnover. Completely unacceptable by Hurts. You have to throw that ball away.

Oh no I'm not either bud. Look we don't know what Tyree is. He may not end up being a very good nfl player at all. But we know what Reagor is. He's a bad WR, a bust and he's mentally weak.

Reagor just screwed up royally,  big time, losing the game,  after being not impressive since he joined the NFL.

The Eagles didn't have a big WR on the field or a big RB on the field.   They have Tyree on the roster,  and Howard was out.   There is no FB who is big, can block and can carry the ball.

But the Eagles have a bunch of small wrs, most aren't very good (Smith is good),  and small rbs who are good at what they're good at, but they're not good at doing big rb stuff.  And a good, solid balanced TE.   Oline is good,  unless Kelce is out, and Herbig is in,  in which case multiple big plays get called back.

I go back and forth but ultimately I don't think we have seen the improvements in the key areas of a QBs game. He's not any better with his reads, he's not standing in the pocket and delivering very often and he's not got the accuracy.

I can't believe we drafted Reagor over Jefferson.

I don't disagree with that. I have no idea why Sirianni didn't stick with the tried and tested early on today. But even then Hurts was still bad even when we did establish the run.

Yep. Smith makes that over the shoulder catch easily and the 4th down drop is simply pathetic on Raegor's part.

Coach said the gameplan was for Reagor to get more targets. They actually planned to get him the ball this week. Burn that gameplan.

Any doubt whatsoever about Reagor being a part of this offense and why he doesn't get targeted alot should be put to bed after today's game. Yes, Hurts was pretty bad today but the offense as a whole was and they actually had chances to win and close the gap between us and the cowgirls.....we truly need another WR on the opposite side of Smith....

I disagree bud. Hurts problems are his arm as it lacks zip and then yeah OK I can agree in his head. He can't read defenses and he doesn't go through his progressions.

Go look at scouting reports on both Burrow and Mac Jones.  Both of them are average to above average arm strength.  Both of them are accurate and process the field quickly.

Drew Brees is the best historic example of this.  He did not have a strong arm.  But he had elite processing and ball placement.

Arm strength can be improved some.  Accuracy can certainly be improved as much of it is mechanics including footwork.  Processing can be improved as well. Hurts has a lot of other good traits that are hard to find (which is why QB is so hard to get right).  With so many holes I know you and I both agree they fill those and roll another year with Hurts and focus on that passing growth.

Reagor in presser"

Reporter: Do you feel pressure to live up to the Eagles 1st round selection?

Reagor: As far as living up to something, No.

What a dope.

He's had a pretty dam good year......

Wentz

63% comp, 2484 yds passing, 18 TD, 3 INT, 97.2 rating, 35 rushes for 138 yds, 1 rushing TD, 3 fumbles lost

Hurts

62% comp, 2306 yds passing, 13 TD, 5 INT, 90.4 rating, 114 rushes for 618 yds, 8 rushing TD's, 1 fumble lost

I'm not sure if it was the same play,  but that play, where Hurts was running back and to the left and was Intercepted, good chance the Eagles run out of time.  That play started with 08 left in the half.

So, yeah, bad,  but I'm guessing that Hurts did that because there was the risk of the half being over.  if there was another 5 seconds on the clock,  he's throwing it out of bounds.

Such Fing BS.  That should happen when the player EARNS it.  What has he done to earn it?  Nothing.

Compare Reagor's conference to Scott's conference. Scott showed emotion and took responsibility. Reagor showed no responsibility and just attributed it to drops.  Acted like it was no big deal.  He has to go. He shows no passion in the game and after a game like that.

The coach was dumb there too. Should’ve passed on second down instead he ran it.

Cut Reagor and JJAW and promote Ward and Hightower. It's easy if you try.

It's too bad players didn't make the plays necessary to shut angry fans up. There will be at least another week of fans relentlessly blaming their favorite "blame target."

And? They played terrible, should fans be happy?

Did the people talking up hurts this week learn their lesson?  I don't think asking for a NFL QB that can actually throw is asking for to much!

Couldn’t stand how he was talking in the presser. I give him credit for standing up there, but him acting like it wasn’t a big deal just irked me.

I never get this mindset. I never understand why fans aren't allowed to react and get emotional. To me it comes with the territory of being a fan but I get that everyone deals with it differently.
