No, it was not the same way 20 years ago. You could sense a political lean 20 years but not like it is today. No one at cnn ever endorsed saddam Hussein or Bin-Laden just out of hate for Bush.

You are delusional. It was non-stop 24/7 attacks on bush.

One should ask, though, how freaking stupid is this woman to carry hashish thru customs in Russia while her country is destroying Russia economy during a war?  Idiot

Were they praising the genius bin laden and Saddam Hussein 20 years ago?

They literally hid his atrocities for decades to maintain their access. Man life must be simple when you’re so F’ing ignorant.

You can’t carry illegal drugs into a foreign country. It’s really that simple.

Yes, idiot.

Carriers are powerful tools of force projection that are also extremely vulnerable to hypersonic missiles based out of mainland China.

Only a moron with the perfect blend of dunning kruger and early onset dementia would claim something is advantage over another country's military when said country could also readily neutralize the very same element.

Readily neutralize the element in one specific scenario. How freaking stupid are you?

Any American in Russia right now has a screw loose.

Oh you mean the scenario in which our militaries face off in defense of Taiwan, which was literally the context of the post you were replying to when you first mentioned our carriers? Your 90th percentile IQ is showing again. Why don't you tell us more about what a stroke of genius this invasion was by Putin, and how it's all going as planned.

More liberating comrade Abra.

Agreed. Incredibly dumb. But she's still a US citizen.

Foxnews has done more to sew political division in the US than any other public entity. It’s all about bashing democrats, that’s their only message now.

You remember that time Clinton went on MSNBC and called Bin Laden a genius?

Yeah, me neither.

Beat me to it.

Sounds like KKKz and TEW need to go to their doc to get a prescription...

The most perplexing (and stunning) aspect of this war has been the performance of the Russian Air Force. Literally the one thing they absolutely had to accomplish early on was air superiority and it’s been reportedly being an absolute ish show.

Maybe they are holding back their true air power in anticipation of a conflict with the West but still unbelievable.

Edit: Sounds like the Russians are still at the outskirts of the city and still control the power plant there.

Definitely, this is at least partially a factor, but it's still surprising how poorly they're faring. Only but the most ardent Putin apologists would disagree that he's got egg on his face for how they've performed so far.

I don't think you have to fetishize Ukraine to root for them full throated.  This is like rooting against the Cowboys.  Who gives a F what you think about the other team.  F Putin, seriously F that dude and his 20th century barbarity and F anybody who even wants to make this a debate.

I don't care for either one really. Putin has to go however.

Good interview with McRaven on the likely outcomes of the invasion, rejection of a no-fly zone, and other aspects.

@Mlodj a military aviation expert who used to post here, thought the Russian Air Force was a joke.

I'm wondering if one of the ex military guys (@Bill?) can comment on this because it has definitely seems like the most consistently reported Russian failures out of Ukraine and is surprising to a layperson like me. Is their air force really that weak? Poor management? Are they holding back? Really strong showing by the Ukrainian air force+ whatever invisible foreign airpower is operating in the area? Propaganda? All of the above?
