Yet, this was apparently the west's strategy from the start.

So, which is it- is Putin a strongman ruling Russia with an iron fist, or is Putin weak and subject to palace intrigue and a noose in red square? Rhetorical question. I know the answer depends on whichever narrative is active at the moment. Currently, with the backdrop of European disintergration, the brutal, omnipotent, dictator fits the bill. Last week it was:

The narratives co exist quite easily.  Putin is a strongman who has ruled Russia with an Iron Fist for 20+ years.  Like all strong men, their demises come suddenly and his is near.  The tipping point gets closer by the day.  Red Square.  By the Balls.  he's got 2 years left.

You give both far too much credit.

Watching people get their ridiculous posts pwnd by "added context" that they can't remove might be the most satisfying thing I've experienced since my last hand shandy

Ancient Like Mammoth’s Crap:’ More Obsolete T-54 Tanks Arrive In Ukraine As Russians Grow Desperate

The tanks probably are destined to function as slightly-mobile, minimally-manned pillboxes—or, packed with explosives, as unmanned vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices.

Locals in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast, watching the 70-year-old tanks trundle past in late June, were unimpressed. "They’re ancient like mammoth’s crap,” one person comments in a video that recently circulated online.

The steady supply of potentially hundreds of war-reserve T-54/55s to Russian forces in southern Ukraine, four months after the Kremlin first began pulling the 1950s-vintage tanks from long-term storage, is the umpteenth reminder of the sheer violence of Russia’s 17-month wider war on Ukraine.

Come on Putin, you filth, die already.

Pop Pop tells the world (including bad hombres) that the reason he suddenly decided to send cluster bombs is because we’re out of other munitions to send them.

A Russian inmate thought he was signing up to become an army construction worker. Then he was sent into battle on the frontlines.

Kind of reminds me when @olsilverhair signed up to be an extra in @hputenishorror film and ended up being bottom in @Godfather’s adult video

Bounties on Leopards and Challengers.

Nobody wants to man them on the battlefield because it's a certain death sentence.

Challengers has been pulled back.

So the Russian soldiers are like "we need extra motivation to knock out their key tank assets because we are not doing it without something like a bounty. Give us a bounty and then we will get totally bada$$."

That makes a lot of sense. On the Ukraine side, I heard you get a McDonald's Happy Meal for knocking out a T54/55.

@Abracadabra once wrote a fan letter to Eddie Murphy and asked for a "banana in his tailpipe"

hilarity ensued

Countries Repatriating Gold In Wake Of Sanctions

One central bank, quoted anonymously, said: "We did have it (gold) held in London... but now we've transferred it back to own country to hold as a safe haven asset and to keep it safe."

Who would have thunk it.
