July 16Jul 16 Few pics from the Open at Birkdale today.Will get a few better ones tomorrow hopefully. Nice view up 18. Was cool how the stewards allowed us on the fairway for a bit.
July 17Jul 17 Few more from today.Hot out there, been very little rain in recent weeks and it shows. Course is firm and running fast, not much wind to speak of though. Bryson drew a huge roar from the gallery when he pulled out driver on 9 after everyone else took irons.Paid off too, pin high right and chipped to a foot. Just the 414 yards 😄

July 18Jul 18 @gregbwfc1 Great pics! Thanks.Watching on tv it looks like it is too dry. Wispy thin rough on a links course is just what you'd expect and hope for but you'd still want some areas with deeper green punishing stuff and I'm not seeing much of that at all.

They stay pretty soft though and are actually really nice to play on. East Coast US courses would be like playing on cement when that happens to a course that doesn’t have the water to deal with the lack of rain.

Rather just observing. The course still looks great and I know those brown fairways are quite nice to play on and no trouble whatsoever to get the club thru.
