There is nothing we can do that Brady hasn't seen before.  Blitzing will certainly HAVE to be part of what we do.  He will kill our zone if we try to play coverage.  We need to play more man coverage in this game and send an extra rusher often.  Need to get Brady off his spot.

Has to be part? Sure! Like I said balance is key. Just don’t believe ‘Blitz, Blitz, Blitz’ works against Brady.

Nah, no chance..

Next season though, we going to make a deep play off run..

Thought on who Slay will cover or will he just be on an island?

Looks like the forecast for Sunday is a 70% chance of rain and moderately high winds. That definitely plays to our favor.

Dont know if he would have made a difference anyways, but Sherman is on IR and out.

He's been bouncing around the league. I had no idea he was on the Bucs

Yep it was fun while it lasted...Exceeded my expectations....

That’s a recipe for certain failure.

We only win if we get creative and unpredictable. Blitzing like crazy Brady will kill us.

Agreed. Unless our goal is to help Brady get closer to the Superbowl. 😆 They have to be a little more creative than that!

No Turning Back Now.   So Many already believe they can't win.   Time to Shock The World.

Hand it off to Mailata about 5 times.... That should soften them up a bit..

Also,  Mailata can blitz up the middle.   Both = creative.

Should have Mailata lined up at QB too.  He could be the Bugs Bunny equivalent playing against the Gas House Gorillas for us.

Yep.  Give everyone else the day off.  Mailata v Tampa Bay.

No one is going to be able to convince me that Mailata would be able to be tackled before getting some yards, until that actually happens.

When the "QB"  is lined up in the shotgun, or the pistol,  he's really not a "QB" in the old school meaning of "QB"   He's really a tailback or a halfback.   These days,  the "QB" is often in the pistol or the shotgun.  When the "QB" is lined up there,  there's an easy and simple opportunity for some ridiculously huge, athletic and versatile OL (or DL) in the backfield to go in motion and get under center, and to become the "QB".  If Hurts is standing there 5 yards behind the Center in the shotgun or pistol,  like normal,  he could take the snap like he always does.  Or,  oh, there's Mailata,   the Eagles version of the Ravens 300 pound pro bowl FB Ricard,  in motion,  getting under Center, taking the snap, and then running. Or,  in motion, getting under Center, then, going in motion again.   Typically,  Mailata's function would be blocker from the backfield.  But he could, occasionally, get under the center and run.

Core to this is that whoever is a backup Oliner and is put on the field,  let's say Opeta or Dillard,  is going to be better for the run game than JJAW or Reagor.  It's a way to get the best run blockers on the field.  I'd also add that you named Mailata,  but players like Kelce and Lane Johnson would also be capable at blocking and occasionally carrying the ball.

It's unusual how good the Eagles Oliners are. 3 of the 5 starters are above 80 on PFF.  And those players aren't just good at being Oliners,  they have excellent athleticism and excellent versatility.

And what is Brooks doing these days?  He's on IR,  but shouldn't he be better by now?  He had a pectoral strain,  which doesn't seem like something that should keep him out for 4 months.   He's yet another of the Eagles oliners with probowl + athleticism + versatility.    The idea here is that the Eagles could use a big blocker in the backfield.  A Fullback.   They don't have one.   One of these great OLs can play back there.  The Eagles have a lot of very good OLs, some are great.

The Bucs had sputtered over the last few weeks.   Barely beat the Jets, got blanked by the Saints.   The Bucs are very capable of laying an egg.

If it is rainy,  and Coach Nick can stick to the ground game, this could come out in our favor.
:Eagle_smiley:

Hope its rainy and windy. Cements our run game and will cause issues for brady etc.

Wonder if huntley will get some touches.

Let's not forget the WFT also beat them. At home.

I watched that game and they basically pounded the ball and pounded it some more. Also short passes. They were just extremely patient and wore out the Bucs in the end.

Forecast is getting worse with each day. As of today they are calling for 80% chance of rain/thunderstorms with 30mph wind and higher gusts.

Brady is 20-4 in playoff games in Foxborough.  I do not think the weather is going to impact him the way people are hoping.

Rumors are Brandon wants to go out for the Coin Toss.   I say Yes BG, Do it.

ehh.  I'm not sure about that.  I love our OLine to smack Vea & Suh around but its really because of their agility advantage.  Make it a sumo mud pit brawl and those 2 mammoths might have their way.

I'm not really sure how productive Fournette can be coming off a hamstring injury. Those are tough on RBs.

I heard Mike Evans is still very limited in practice, he played well in last 2 games, but why is he limited in walk thru pratice?

Not saying that this is an easy game by far, but are these 2 guys going to be difference makers. Could be wrong, but those injuries might play a big impact.

The Bucs are still rightly favourites here but there's no doubt they are banged up and have issues there right now. We have a chance here and we have to seize that.

Need Nick Foles and B_Graham to do the coin toss. Also posters of Foles on the sideline. Brady will lose it.

This game will be won by controlling the clock. If they can’t establish the run early, it’s over.

If the D can't stop anyone in the 1st half, like they always can't, they are toast. But... if the D can step up and the running game is churning out the yards, Eagles have a shot.

Yup, run. And on D, throw the house at Brady, hit him a LOT.

New England again?
