I'm curious to see who Doug's coordinators will be in Jacksonville.  I wonder if he tries to retain Darrell Bevell there as OC -- he could do a lot worse (and has).

People are dumb and don't understand measurements. He's 6003. People think that means 6'3" when its 6'0 3/8ths

And as a decimal that's actually 6.03125 feet.

Apologies if someone has already said this: If Howie is paying such close attention to Willis, doesn't that indicate that he realizes Hurts isn't good enough?

Could be a smoke screen too, to entice another team to trade up with us.

But I think there was earlier reports that Howie was enamoured with Pickett as well, and lots of chatter about trying to trade up to #2 last year to get Wilson. Hurts ain't for long here methinks.

But Doug is calling the plays, right?

One thing I've noticed looking through mocks/prospect lists is I'm having a hard time getting excited about DTs after the first round or so. Plenty of day 2-3 players at DB, LB, OL and even EDGE that I like but DT I'm pretty "meh" about most of the guys available. Probably mostly my knowledge gap.

I like Winfrey a lot. Leal may slide a bit. Wyatt could be there as well. And Travis Jones. There's some Day 2/3 talent.

Howie personally went to Picketts game against Ole Miss with 40+ other scouts and GM's from the league. And everyone of the coaches, coordinators and scouts are down in Mobile watching the QB's and interviewing them. It's not an absolute they are drafting a QB but they are for sure looking at them closely for more than just a smokescreen.

he should get McCown for OC. Build McCown's resume.

I don't think Hurts was ever really a "Howie" pick.  Yes, Howie is responsible/accountable for all picks, but I think Andy Weidl and Doug were driving the bus on that pick and they convinced Howie.  Also if we're to believe the rationale for the pick as it was put forward at the draft, then Hurts wasn't drafted under the premise he'd be the starting QB long term.

If neither Nick or Howie are "Hurts guys" then Hurts' grasp on the starting QB position is tenuous at best.

I feel the fact they did that last offseason with Wilson and then all the way til the deadline there were reports of them talking to teams about QBs. As well as Joel corry the agent saying they were trying to get a deal done for watson and that’s why ertz wasn’t traded sooner. So i have thought for a while they are going to be aggressive if they really love someone

I feel like all those guys except maybe Jones are gone by the 2nd round but still lots of time till draft day. Just send like a relatively top heavy group compared to the others.

I recall Hurts being inactive for the 1st week last season. If Howie was in charge of setting the roster for game days, I highly doubt he would make his 2nd round pick inactive the very 1st week.

Let’s just draft 3 QBs in round 1 and see who wins. Whatever gets Hurts out.

Dougs bringing the gang back together

Also, I would’ve loved to see Hurts in some of these passing contests at the pro bowl. Really drive the point home.

Pederson & McCown....wouldn't get much better than that for Lawrence.

Bringing back the 2019-2020 Eagles offensive coaching staff is certainly a choice.

I watched 10 mins of it, and even Mac Jones was terrible. I was thinking the same thing, how bad would have Hurts looked doing the precision passing drills.

I thought it was kind of weird that the day or two after Cousins was named to the Pro Bowl as an alternate and the roster was set, it came out he was now getting a minor surgery on his ankle.

Are you saying the Eagles' passing game wasn't good from 2019 to 2020?

I'd also expect Ryan Paganetti to follow Doug to Jacksonville. He deleted his Twitter when Doug was first interviewing, came back when his name cooled down in the coaching searches, and has since deleted everything from Twitter again.

Reminds me of a player for the Bills who was picked for the Pro Bowl some years ago and, when a reporter asked him how he felt about it, he said, "Man! I sure hope I don't get hurt."
