Thank you both. Got a flour sifter, which I use for biscuits. Definitely want to work by hand. I make a fine pie crust. My trick is to freeze the butter and use a coarse grater on the frozen butter - distributes the butter much better than other methods. Will get the bread board and The Bread Baker's Apprentice.

There is another book people mention you can probably find on the Amazon page that may not be as advanced. Good luck!!

exact opposite, for most of my life I was a 5-6 hours sleep person, Stay up late, get up early,  now in my mid to late 50-s I normally get 7-8 hours sleep. I find I am getting to bed earlier.

Given the current retail prices for a good QB, it makes a lot of sense to buy a lottery ticket when the opportunity presents itself.

Yup. This is where I am at. I throw in how bad Howie is with drafting in the 1st rd anyway, why not take a chance, IF they feel a QB has the possible potential.

The current economics of the NFL QB landscape, and it's only getting pricier.

The Eagles won't have 3 first round picks next year; probably won't even have 2.  Folks wanting to wait until 2023 should consider what draft slot they'll need to be at in order to get "that unknown fantastic future QB prospect"

Called Jerry Jones a liar lol.

LOL actually I do get up to pee sometimes, last night it was 3 am-ish,  but usually have no issue falling back asleep. 🤷‍♂️ Rare occasions I might, but not often.

Yep. Two possible scenarios.

Either Hurts fails epically and we get a top 5 pick, proving we should have just drafted any of the QB's that were available in the middle of round 1 or 2.

Other scenario is more of the same, barely .500 and picking in the 16-19 range, and then having to use multiple resources in a draft that you don't have three first to move up for a QB.

Need to find a trade-back partner this draft and a trade-up partner high enough to jump other QB needy teams next draft. A little difficult to guarantee we will be in position to nab a QB high enough.

So what's the next underwhelming move? McLeod, Nelson or Barnett?

I can go back to sleep sometimes but most of the time I can't

Just for kicks I went through the draft from 2014-2018 related to QBs.  Field Yates had tweeted that no QB drafted from 2006-2016 was still with their current team.  That's a wide range.  I thought I'd go a bit more recent and track the first round QBs who would have been getting to the end of their 1st/2nd contracts.

2014 -- Bortles, Manziel, Bridgewater

2015 -- Winston, Mariota

2016 -- Goff, Wentz, Lynch

2017 -- Trubisky, Mahomes, Watson

2018 -- Mayfield, Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Jackson

I bolded the 3 out of 16 QBs who are still with the team that drafted them.  It's pretty apparent drafting QB even in the first round is a low-percentage proposition.

I guess the other question is -- how many of those 16 QBs would you rate higher than what the Eagles have now in Hurts?

This and and Brady loves him

100% agree on being willing to draft a QB this year. I'd absolutely draft Willis or Corral in round 1 and not think twice about it. I don't see it at all with Pickett.

I'd go as far to say if they have any interest in those guys, it'd be borderline irresponsible not to draft one. There aren't any guarantees the Eagles are gonna be in a position next year to draft as high as 15, much less be there and have 2 other 1st round picks. We should basically write off the vet QB market at this point.

15: R1 P15 DL Jordan Davis - Georgia
16: R1 P16 WR Treylon Burks - Arkansas
19: R1 P19 EDGE George Karlaftis - Purdue
51: R2 P19 S Jaquan Brisker - Penn State
83: R3 P19 CB Tariq Woolen - UTSA
124: R4 P19 LB Brandon Smith - Penn State
154: R5 P11 TE Jelani Woods - Virginia
162: R5 P19 RB ZaQuandre White - South Carolina
166: R5 P23 OT Zach Tom - Wake Forest
194: R6 P15 WR Kyle Philips - UCLA

If Brandon Smith makes it to 124 they better sprint to the podium, along with Kyle Philips at 194. Love Woolen as a R2 fallback plan if they don't go CB in the first. No way he makes it to 83.

His #1 guy seems to be lost in the noise. Corall is a pretty good prospect with some deficiencies.

He is bigger than people expected him to measure, great arm, and played the best competition.

Interesting to see how high he goes.

Corral is lost because he didn't go to the combine. I think he has the highest chance for sustained success in this class.

The bar is low with Hurts...

With a low success rate of arguably 3 out of 16 - this is why I would have given what ever it took to bring in a known franchise QB in Free agency, such as Watson or Wilson.

And why, now that - that was not feasible, that we might have to draft 3 QB's in the next 5-10 years before we get our Franchise QB.

thats the reality.
