If we draft a WR this year, I want it to be a very young athletic speed freak who is raw and fell to a value spot in round 2 or 3.  Someone who can quietly learn the position without the pressure to perform and without running meaningless downfield routes while ignored by Hurts...and can step into their prime in a few years when we have a new QB to take advantage of their talents.

Ultimate pipe-dream trade downs:

#15 and 2023* 2nd for 32 + 2023 1st

#16 + 51 for 29 and 30.

Keep #19.

I guess there's no better proof of his worth than the 2022 season. Will be interesting to see what happens with both teams

That's why it's fascinating.  If the Chiefs don't skip a beat and the Dolphins don't change much, then Hill was just the guy who got the most targets in a well-oiled machine.  The way Hill single-handedly won several games for them, I'm not necessarily betting on that scenario...but it's possible.  Tough to bet against Mahomes and AR.

If the Chiefs really suffer and Hill does the same things in Miami, then Hill's legacy really shines.

I don't disagree Hill is a huge get for Miami, but for me personally... I don't even know if hes a top 5 WR in the NFL right now. I watched an AFC championship game where Ja'Marr Chase was absolutely the most dynamic weapon on the field. He won them that game, as he did the game against Tennessee, as he did keep Cincy in the Super Bowl. And then in LA's entire Super Bowl run, Cooper Kupp was the God of Wide Receivers... do they still win it all with 3 straight close games if that was Tyreek Hill instead?

We could do both. Draft Jordan Davis at 16; trade 15(and 51?) for 29 and 30; trade 19 for a 2022 3rd and a 2023 1st

The middle of the first is a great spot in this draft. I wouldn't trade down unless you get something next year that has a chance to be better than your pick this year. Like if Atlanta wants to jump back up from the 2nd round for a QB. They could be terrible in 2022, it would be a good gamble to maybe get a top 5 pick from them.

I'd love that in the right spot.

I don't think the Eagles will ever go for that type of WR again though.  They normally go for less athletic, more polished WRs.  They recoiled from that philosophy when they passed up Metcalf for JJAW...which led them to reach for Reagor purely based on athleticism, instead of Jefferson.  Jefferson is the perfect profile of an Eagle WR draft pick (aside from the fact that he's good).

I think all WR draft picks moving forward from Lowie will be low on explosion, high on polish, productivity, and route running.  So I'm not holding out much hope for one of those guys.

I hear you, but he still has a few good years left. And is a certainty. Could work that 30M out like Howie does to make it all work. These draft picks are a crap shoot. Only one 1st round pick in that haul and a lower one at that. Short to midterm, they probably just wasted Mahomes next 2 years. That offense won't be near elite.

you say draft picks are a crapshoot that's why you dont overspend, so you have cap space to sign players/holes without relying on the draft picks to fix your team, the more you spend, the more you have to rely on picks which is a death sentence.

I think that will entirely depend on the QB desperation at the top. If no QB's are taken before us, and we really just have the 15th best player on the board, then trade downs are more likely. But the Giants, Steelers, Texans, Seahawks, Lions, Saints, Panthers, (Bucs? Colts?) could all be in play to draft or trade up for a QB early this year even though none are really worth a top 10 pick.

If that happens with even just 2-3 of them, that means a guy who should have gone at 8 is now going at 11. A Fletcher Cox who went at 12 is now available at 15. An Earl Thomas who went at 14 is now there at 16. Now imagine if 4 QBs are taken before we go, absolutely could happen. The value of our picks begins to skyrocket.

Ignoring off the field issues, character, and age....I would take Hill over any other WR, RB, TE in the NFL without hesitation.  He takes over games and destroys game plans in ways that Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, and others absolutely cannot.  Those 6'2" all around #1s are great and they pile on the yardage totals with modest ypc and explosiveness stats.  Hill is a cornerstone of an NFL-changing offense.

I figured you would have stopped posting here and joined the Dolphins message board by now. That’s an E45 team if I’ve ever seen one.

Except the qb

howie sitting around with his thumb up his ass yet again

If the Eagles were in on Robinson, Kirk, Chark, Woods, and Ridley, I really think Parker is a strong possibility if he's on the market. They're sniffing around everyone and may finally have found one that comes at an affordable price.

I don't think Deion believes it. It's just a leverage button to push with NFL franchises to help his college program. It is calculated to help him with recruits and his team.

Yes.

Even though I would never do that deal, both trade compensation and contract, it's so depressing seeing moves like that while listening to Ray Didinger tell me how Zach Pascal is actually a really good WR.

He's better than JJAW, and probably Reagor

So who is in on pairing up DeVonta with DeVonte ?  Only (chump change) making $8.7 million this year and $9 million next season.  Throw them a 5th and JJAW (for Special Teams/Blocking as they lost Mack Hollins).  Grab Pierce or Watson in 2nd or 3rd.

Tyreek Hill was 78th in yards per catch last year at 11.1.

Has the Free Agency Super Bowl Champion been crowned yet? Or is it still too early?

If the board fell like this and Howie pulled this off, I'd pay for his hookers and blow for a full year.

This is a fascinating trade.

Hill is the best, most dangerous weapon in the NFL...in this entire generation of NFL football.  He erases angles, makes plays with his quickness underneath, takes the top off deep, puts the entire defense on their heels, and opens up everything.

The 2 biggest questions facing the Chiefs have always been...when will Hill slow down and how will Mahomes & Co handle it?  On one hand, think of how far back the Chiefs would fall without the superhuman play from Hill.  On the other, think of how lucky AR and Mahomes are to cash out a 28 year old Hill for an enormous glut of picks to aggressively draft more WRs for the next generation.  It felt like the party might end for them with the decline of Kelce/Hill, and now they get a chance to extend it with the fastest WR draft class in history.

You just jinxed yourself. Howie will undoubtedly draft Drake London with the 15th pick now 😂

It's $6.25mm this year and $6.3mm next. The prorated signing bonus accelerates as dead cap to the Dolphins.

The Chiefs just cost themselves the 2022 season with this trade. I think it's a horrible move by them
