It's $6.25mm this year and $6.3mm next. The prorated signing bonus accelerates as dead cap to the Dolphins.

even better

So who is in on pairing up DeVonta with DeVonte ?  Only (chump change) making $8.7 million this year and $9 million next season.  Throw them a 5th and JJAW (for Special Teams/Blocking as they lost Mack Hollins).  Grab Pierce or Watson in 2nd or 3rd.

Not it

It's a close race but I think the winner might be Miami between FA and trades.

Still early, but my pick for most improved on paper might be a dark horse...the Chargers. Resigned WIlliams, got Mack, signed JC Jackson, Gerald Everett, and Sebastian Joseph-Day.

And an analytics spreadsheet and Hurts arm strength

Logically, Hurts would have nothing to do with it.

Meh - I think they will be fine.  They are probably moving on from Hill too soon but getting 5 picks for him is a haul.  I mean they could easily land Olave and not miss a beat.

Any news on when Barnett resigns?

I was having such a good day... until you made this joke.  Sadly there is a chance of it happening, and it grows larger every day he goes unsigned elsewhere.

Id have to look at the chart but that seems to steep

i think 29+30 for 15 would be more correct

Already done

Nope.

OCT trade value chart

29 and 30 worth 2570

15 and 51 worth 2389

15 and 4th worth 2099

Going by this: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/draft/draft_trade_value.htm

15 and 83 is equivalent to 29 and 30, give or take a couple points.

Olave is not in the same class as Hill. At least not now, maybe he develops but that's a reach.

Excellent.

And if we all just contribute a little next March as well,  we can keep it flowing and never really have to worry about deadlines.

They still also have...

Patrick Mahomes.

They'll be fine.

3 of them are 4s and a 6th. They traded 29 overall

All those picks amount to 15 overall on the draft value chart. He probably is the most impactful non QB in the league

Tua and Hurts

Tua is sadly better than Hurts.

It may have cost them 2022, but it also may have extended their window.

Hurts was benched for Tua in college because, according to Saban, the weapons weren’t getting the ball effectively. Yikes

This is a fascinating trade.

Hill is the best, most dangerous weapon in the NFL...in this entire generation of NFL football.  He erases angles, makes plays with his quickness underneath, takes the top off deep, puts the entire defense on their heels, and opens up everything.

The 2 biggest questions facing the Chiefs have always been...when will Hill slow down and how will Mahomes & Co handle it?  On one hand, think of how far back the Chiefs would fall without the superhuman play from Hill.  On the other, think of how lucky AR and Mahomes are to cash out a 28 year old Hill for an enormous glut of picks to aggressively draft more WRs for the next generation.  It felt like the party might end for them with the decline of Kelce/Hill, and now they get a chance to extend it with the fastest WR draft class in history.

I think teams were slowing down KC's offense by playing 2 deep looks.  I mean Cincinnati shut them out essentially in the 2nd half.  The reliance on Hill almost made them easier to defend at times.  He's ultimately only part of the equation and is replaceable especially in a draft that will have several deep speed options.

Did the Chiefs win with him?

Hill is not replaceable. I doubt they'll ever be as good on offense for the rest of Mahomes' career as they have been with him. He's impossible to defend

What?? They've won more than any other team in the league since drafting Hill

The Chiefs will still be good. But I don't think they're great anymore

He's not at all impossible to defend.
