Chiefs are punting on the year if they go through with this. They probably don't make the playoffs.

They drafted his replacement the last time he held out. Mecole Hardman.

Anyone watching Corral's pro day?

Awful pass blocker , and crap hands  , not the sharpest either , kind of guy that runs out of bounds , when the team is trying to run the clock out

This is almost as bad as saying Reid didn’t develop McNabb based on his completion percentage at Syracuse.

It completely disregards how teams had to change the way they defended the Chiefs because of Hill’s speed.

Stats without context SMH

Joey Blount , S for VA  , killing his proday

CEH is their receiving back. Looking at him more as a Williams replacement.

Michael Griffin , S for South Dakota state jumping out of the building

Mike Tomlin on hand at Corral's pro day, skipping OSU's. With their history of drafting Buckeyes, this just made the already worst-kept secret in football that they want a QB at 20 even a worse-kept secret.

Rojo is better when he gets most of the carries he needs to get into a rhythm

This is why it's a fascinating move.  We are going to find out in 2022.

I cant believe people are making the argument that he wasnt a huge part of their success.

How come for years people argued how DeSean still affects the entire game even when he was having many of his invisible low production games? How come we have struggled for years to replace him?

Doesnt matter what Hill's per catch average was. Chiefs offense wont be nearly the same without him if they dont draft Williams, and they need to really hope Williams translates better than Ruggs did. No guarantee there.

The argument isn't about anything other than his replaceability.  Hill is the best slot WR in the NFL.  Tyreek was the highest targeted receiver on their team. He's a super talented slot WR. Tyreek Hill is a unique player but he is replaceable.  I think it's a mistake to think somehow the concepts the Chiefs were running were reliant on Hill's speed. They were reliant on him being an effective slot WR.   This is a good overview of how the Chiefs responded to Cover-2 looks.  https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2021/10/21/patrick-mahomes-andy-reid-travis-kelce-tyreek-hill/ This goes over the problems they had in the 2nd half against the Bengals:  https://weeklyspiral.com/2022/02/03/how-the-cincinnati-defense-adapted-to-shut-down-the-chiefs-offense/ There is nothing that Hill was doing or was able to do to fix those issues. He's a very fast slot WR that runs excellent routes.  He can do this:

He's replaceable in large part because of the quality of their QB.  He also plays a position that is replaceable.  JuJu Smith Schuster has been an effective slot WR.  They have Mecole Hardman who has been productive replacing Hill's production in the slot.

Corral showed off today , my only QB worthy of a first rd pick

I’d definitely move back 4-5 spots for a third if they want to assure they get him.

The Chiefs are the team that should have targeted Fournette.

Cincinnati pro day tomorrow. Ridder, Pierce, Sauce, Bryant, Beavers, Ford, Sanders, Cook...8 guys who will get drafted. And Whyle definitely would have if he hadn't returned to school. I'd take all of 'em.

It completely disregards how teams had to change the way they defended the Chiefs because of Hill’s speed.

They defended him with two high safeties, took the deep stuff away, and the Kansas City offense was bogged down for the first half of the season.  They then had to adjust the offense and get the ball to Hill more on short passes,  that is why he had his lowest YPC since his rookie year.

The Chiefs through Hill did not dictate to NFL defenses how to defend them, the defenses dictated to the Chiefs how they were going to have to run their offense.

I give KC credit. They are not better after the trade, yet. But they aren't clinging onto an aging player and just running it all back. Instead, they are getting maximum return to re-open their window for another stretch if they nail some of these picks.

It's also nice how they have weapons that they can do that

We just restructured one of our aging playmakers instead of cutting ties

I think him being shelved since the Sugar Bowl let Willis' hype build. I think Corral is the better prospect.

Damn. Wagner with Donald in front of him?

Yeah, that’s too much.

Guess your to good to answer my draft question. How typical of this place.

I saw Howie trending on Twitter earlier, so figured it was Eagles fans complaining about the lack of moves.

And it was.

KC must really not want to pay Hill to trade him.  Feels like the are accepting a down year and with that Mahomes contract, they need to get cheaper at some positions
